I gave it a 2 just because dreadful sums it up more than pathetic. This is the most horrifying romance story I've ever experienced, the fact that anyone would find it romantic gives me chills.

Prince Charming falls in love at first right with a common girl, a bit boring but not objectionable. From the beginning he's alarmingly possessive over her, won't let her leave without a bunch of body guards until she's starting to feel like she's being suffocated. We're told he's like this 'cause his mother was kidnapped and killed when he was young. She sneaks out without the body
...
guards and he comes and literally throws her over his shoulder and carries her out. They talk, and although he doesn't apologise he reduces her guard to one person. Reasonable enough compromise, although the fact that she has no agency about any of it is pretty infuriating.
Then some other dramatic situations occurs before she's set up to look like she's betrayed the Prince. In an act of obsessive and selfish self-sacrifice she goes to meet the man who set her up, after he told her he'd reveal he innocence to the Prince in exchange for her life. She survives and the man who set her up falls in love with her, in an act of his love he later kidnaps her and tells her to "whore" herself out to him in exchange for the Prince's life. He doesn't go through with his rape, 'cause only the Prince get's to rape the Princess.
She thinks she was raped, though, and when the Prince will no longer touch her, she thinks he doesn't love her anymore 'cause she's not pure. She tries to kill herself, and when her attempt fails she decides to run away from the Prince since being with him is making her mental state worse, both because she blames him for all of this happening since he didn't believe her innocence when set up and also because she doesn't believe he loves her anymore. He becomes a brutal apathetic guy after she leaves, and everyone decides this is her fault for being such a bitch who dares to have emotions, so much so that one of his bodyguard decides to hunt her down to kill her.
Luckily Prince Charming shows up last minute to save her sorry self, but then proceeds to strangle her when he sees she's been doing well without him and doesn't want to come back with him. He then blames her for it because he loves her so much and he can't live without her, can't she see how much she hurt him? Selfish bitch who has wants and needs of her own. "Never show yourself in front of me again or I don't know what I'll do" he threatens her and leaves, but the thought bubbles helpfully tells us he's only saying this to protect her 'cause he's scared he'll hurt her again. Awww, so sweet.
2 years later she shows up in front of him again. She does this because the man who set her up earlier has realised that blackmailing, sexually assaulting, and almost raping her isn't love, has decided that love is to set up a new elaborate rouse where she's blackmailed into going back to the Prince to save her brother from going to jail. Top class all these guys, really. The Prince proceeds to keep good on his promise and is ready to rape her, but swooning from his willingness to rape her, she embraces him willingly. Cute.
She then tells him it was a mistake, because he has a fiancé. He locks her up and rapes her, not allowing her to leave the Palace, and blames it on her for showing up in front of him. How dare she be the object of his desires. Attempting to woo her he tells her he's broken off the engagement, because his fiancé is too good a woman, when all he needs is something warm between the sheets, and that she's a much better match for that. So why doesn't she marry him instead, all she needs to do is look nice in public and be obedient in bed. At this point in time nobody cares, including herself, that she had a very successful art career until now, 'cause that's just been dropped in favour of mooning over the Prince who keeps telling her all the time that he only wants her for sex and could never love her. See? It's romantic 'cause he's only abusing her because he's afraid of rejection.
He eventually blackmails he into marrying him by using the evidence against her brother that he originally "helped" her get rid off. Her friend helpfully thinks that "She thinks she's becoming his possession, but really he's becoming hers". 'Cause being strangled, locked up, raped, and blackmailed really shows us how much power women hold over men by using our sexual wiles. But it's all right, 'cause he loves her.
And then blah blah blah, happily ever after.
