Ne Ne Ne is a simple, short romantic comedy that does pretty much everything right.
It has a simple theme of romance between a mature man and a young girl who wants him to see her as an adult, with both of them being inexperienced and shy when it comes to love. The interactions between characters are funny, the art is cute and shows all the emotion I expect, and nothing about the age gap, feudal setting, or supernatural elements feels jarring.
You might see that it's only a single volume and think it was instantly axed and had a rushed ending,

Now that this series is fully translated, I thought I'd write a review.
Hanamaru Youchien follows the daily lives and relationships of 3 kindergarten teachers, Tsuchida, Yamamoto, and Kusano, as well as several of their students, including Anzu, Hiiragi, and Koume. As the characters do their best at the kindergarten, all kinds of funny and cute things happen and they work towards catching the attention of whoever they like, whether that's one of their coworkers, classmates, or teachers. While the plot doesn't progress very quickly, most characters are fleshed out throughout the story, and nothing feels particularly rushed. The art is ... |
