Salaryman's Club is definitely one of the more basic sports anime out there which is sad because I came into this anime looking for specifically a more mature outlook on sports and less of the tropes that plague highschool sport anime.
Story and Worldbuilding:
Not very good, the story is as basic as you can imagine with every 'twist' or plot being as predictable as possible. The author in general made a really poor effort to flash out the Badminton in this anime. What is the difference between official sport teams and workplace teams? Why are the two brothers apparently #1 and #2 in the world when
...
they a) get defeated by randoms and b) havent traveled internationally? Does only Japan exist in this world? They also do a poor job of explaining stuff like the S/J league. The workplace stuff was done a bit better, the MC producing a drink was a fun idea and executed well.
Pacing:
Also pretty bad. There never are any stakes in the show after MC gets over his trauma in like episode 5 or 6, which led to them having to introduce a new plot line of the other MC being framed of punching his boss 3 or 4 episodes before this anime ends just to make them accept a nonsensical bet that they have to WIN the tournament because otherwise there literally would have been no tention at all.
Also they skip over some really interesting matches completely and only show the scoreboards which was a shame, im specifically referring to the match between pink haired guy and dad character who just came back from a hiatus, both were setup quite nicely before and the theme of old veteran vs rising star always makes for a good scenario.
Characters:
Kinda basic but still likable. MCs were fine, nothing special. The older one of the antagonist brothers and the white haired dude who left Sunshine Bav were probably the most interesting characters but there wasn't really anything interesting being done with them. The veteran dad character was also aight, I just wish he got more screentime and he wasnt such a basic trope of 'old member being recruited back into the team for the final tournament'.
The other stuff:
Animation was quite good, nothing crazy like Haikyuu or Kuruko but also not the trainwreck of Ballroom.
They did quite often show dynamic play instead of a bunch of still shots.
Music was really interesting, it packs quite the punch so often I found myself focusing more on the music than the actual show. Its the type of OST you come back to at least once just to check it out on its own.
As a whole, 5 or 6 out of 10.
I did enjoy most the episodes, esp. when the main cast was just hanging out together but the whole sports part was pretty undercooked.

I will start this review by saying that if you come into YYH with the expectation to get more content similar to HxH you will be somewhat disappointed. While the 4 main characters share a lot of obvious similarities to the HxH main cast and already you can tell Togashi tries to make his villains stand out as much as possible with Toguro, the story is really straightforward and the fights aren't all that complex.
Story:
Spirit Detective is arguably the most diverse arc, featuring a lot of smaller mini-arcs, introducing characters, giving our characters their signature attacks and going up against smaller villain groups.
The Dark
...
Tournament is where the stakes feel the highest but the story also feels the most stale. Imagine sitting through 40 episodes of just one big tournament with only one story divergence before the climax, the only thing that keeps this arc together is Toguro.
Chapter Black features a more interesting setup, introducing Stand-like abilities and having a semi-interesting villain. While the arc is overall quite good, the ending is pretty rushed.
Three kings arc is definitely the outliner here, only having a few episodes to its name, trying to set up a political plot only to throw it in the trash halfway in because of the authors health.
Art:
This show looks really good for a 1992 anime and a lot of it holds up really well even today, I'd argue for at least a few years this was the best looking TV anime in existence. I will also give a epilepsy warning here for 2-3 scenes throughout the whole show.
Sound:
Soundtrack is above average but what really makes this score go up are the sound effects that accompany all of the different attacks that helps to deliver the effect of immersion.
Characters:
Overall really good, I took a great liking to our 4 main characters, they have a great dynamic and they change quite a lot throughout the different arcs, the villains are also pretty nice.
Enjoyment:
Considering I binge-watched it in a week I will saw I enjoyed it, as I said though, the story gets stale from time to time and also the 3 Kings arc had some pacing issues which made me enjoy it a bit less.
Overall:
Pretty good but not really outstanding, this is a solid Shonen with great characters, good production which had a lot of love put in and a slightly above average story.
I would recommend it if you aren’t put off by generic Shonen tropes that this manga incorporates a lot.

Man this was something, Bakemono no Ko or The Boy and the Beast in English was a movie that certainly reminded me of some of my favorite movies of all time, be it the fairly generic story of a child having issues with his family and getting involved in a new fantasy-like world or the stellar character design and storytelling like Wolf Children.
Story: As I said, it was generic but that's by no means its downfall, you can tell a great story as long as the characters make it worth watching. It was predictable to a certain degree (as to who the villain will be)
...
but there was also enough elements of mystery involved, so you never knew exactly what will happen.
The time skip was also rather interesting and not something I'd have seen coming at the beginning.
Art: It's a movie, of course it looks hella good. Amazing backgrounds, cgi used in a way it doesnt burn my eyes and oh god the character design is one of the best I've seen in a long time.
Sound: I liked the soundtrack, not my favorite but it fits really well into the movie and always emphasizes what is happening.
Characters: We get arguably two main characters who share a lot of the same personality but still complement each other fairly well.
The supporting cast was also really good for a movie, it's hard to really develop anyone but the main character in just 2 hours but they very much managed to, well, support our main characters in great fashion.
Enjoyment and Overall: Really enjoyed this, an easy to follow story, characters that complement each other, great art, nothing was annoying in any way and I wouldnt mind rewatching it at any time. If you liked Wolf Children, Ghibli or furries (lol) this movie is a no-brainer to watch.

Watching it subbed.
Pokemon Sun and Moon is by far the most different Pokemon anime, unlike the rest of the seasons it went from the adventure genre to a more slice of life like show. Not only that but the art style changed drastically.
At the current moment (ep 34) we're not in the main story yet but we have quite a few characters introduced that seem important to the plot, mainly Gladion.
The art style, altough different, personally got quite better, it fits the overall theme of S&M way more than the static art style from the earlier seasons and it allows the characters to express
...
themselves a lot more, which is important, as S&M added a lot of slapstick comedy.
Currently we have 2 openings and 1 ending, which are all above average and the OST mostly consists of game remixes and quite a few older soundtracks from X&Y. (as far I know)
The characters improved a lot as well. All the main characters get at least 1 or 2 episodes just for them and at the current state (ep34) we got a good amount of character development for a pokemon anime.
I only speak for myself but I enjoy S&M way more than any other season of pokemon but thats mostly me being a sucker for slice of life, not really liking the older art styles and 0815 adventure "hey lets get 8 badges" seasons.
Overall Sun and Moon is by far the easiest to enjoy season and has the most depth out of any pokemon show, as it doesnt hesitate to tackle more adult problems like dealing with the death of a loved one and the grieving that comes with it.
