Story 10/10
The story is really amazing. It is very realistic, and I love the fact that it is not about high school and studies but about the actual sport. I love how the whole anime is about the sport and the way it teaches not only the characters but the audience as well. It is like I am part of the Karasuno team and their matches. I was able to understand the rules and how volleyball is played. Also, what makes this anime even more striking

and unique is that the story is associated with how to overcome challenges and how to excel in the character’s boundaries, showing that they have still a long way to go to polish and perfect their volleyball skills and mindsets. Also, I must say the ending of the anime was just mind-blowing and very realistic. Despite, Karasuno losing to Aoba Johsai at the end, I think that was the best ending because the show promotes the realism and the hardship of losing even one game. The loss of a game where it will teach the characters that it is alright to lose because that will make them stronger. It will make them be motivated, persistent, and resilient. It will make the team unite even more and become stronger.
Characters: 10/10
The characters were absolutely amazing. I could not ask for anything more. The character development is absolutely on spot. Every character played a very significant role in making the team shine, including the weaker and smaller teams. I loved how Kageyama turned from an egotistical person to a guy who can trust and rely on his teammates, showing that it is alright to make mistakes because that what makes him an individual. He will always be supported by his teammates and allow him to shine once again as a new and a better king on the court.
I loved the relationship between Hinata and Kageyama. I think it is very unique and positive. They support each other and believe in each other. I love how Kageyama saw the potential in Hinata’s athletic and jumping skills as well as Hinata seeing Kageyama’s skills as a setter and as a player overall. In addition, I loved how the other characters were also helping them to climb to new levels and passions in volleyball not only to themselves.
I think the most amazing thing about these characters that each opposing team is never viewed as villains. They are just playing the game and all the teams have the same ambitions as Karasuno. Every team is working exceptionally hard to achieve their goals. Also, I love how the opposing teams see each other as rivals as well as friends. They respect each other and learn from one another because all of them have an equal passion for the sport itself.
Art and Animation: 10/10
I think the art style is really good. They have put a lot of effort into the anime and it is proven by including even the slightest detail. For example, when Oikawa was serving, he was so focused on the ball that I can see the ball directly through Oikawa’s eyes. Also, there was a sense of optimism, making the anime even more enjoyable.
Sound: 10/10
I think the opening theme was fantastic. It was very energetic. I loved the sound effects and the music they used while playing matches, showing the intensity of the sport. The music shows the intensity of the sport and everybody trying to not let down their teammates or even to burden them, believing that they do not deserve to be in the court. Also, while the players were hitting the ball as well as the serves were quite dramatic and emotional, showing the determination to score a point for the team as well as for themselves and their confidence.
Enjoyment: 10/10
I absolutely enjoyed this anime. Everything was fantastic. Each match was absolutely intense, and I was always out of my seat. Also, I was feeling just as frustrated as Karasuno when the other team scored and at the same time cheering when they scored a point. I never felt so alive in an anime ever.
Overall: 10/10
This is an emotional and realistic anime about volleyball in my opinion. Because of Haikyuu, I was able to love volleyball once again and actually engage even more with the sport. The characters were also realistic, showing real emotions of happiness, frustration, and regret. Overall, the first season is just great, and it is just the beginning of their journey. I absolutely recommend watching this anime.

This is my first review. I had a lot of feelings about this anime overall.
At the beginning of the anime, I was not really convinced if it was worth the watch. The plot seemed quite promising, but the characters were really annoying and were ruining my overall experience. However, I did not want to give up and stuck until the end. ***CONTAINS SPOILERS*** Story: 9/10 The story was very original, complex, and twisted. Straight from the beginning, I loved the idea that a group of teenagers was stranded in the middle of space, basically isolated. Therefore, they band together and try to survive and successfully ... |
