Do you like western over the top action movies? Sakamoto Days is that but in anime form.
Sakamoto Days is an action comedy series that starts as a slow slice of life until it introduces the cast, and then slowly turns into an action series with a lot of crazy set pieces that are heavily inspired by western action movies.
The story is pretty simple and straight forward, but still has some mystery in it. Sakamoto is an ex hitman who retires, marries and has a kid. But one day someone puts a bounty on his head. Who did that? What's their reason? Will Sakamoto be
...
able to protect his family and is he actually still strong or did his 5 years of retirement made him lose his legendary hitman status?
On first glance, many of the characters are inspired by series like Gintama, which is not surprising considering they were both serialised in Weekly Shounen Jump. Slowly you realise that the dynamics and the characters are much different and they take shape on their own.
The music is by far the best part of the series, which is not surprising considering the guy who did them worked on My Hero Acaedmia as well.
Overall the series is a lot of fun with a lot of great characters. Different from many trends that are popular nowadays. Animation could be better but it doesn't ruin the fun. I highly recommend this series for a fun series with crazy action.
