Kumoko is love kumoko is life. I love kumoko and that's pretty much the only character I cared about. Everyone else was pretty boring to me. I had such a strong urge to skip every time Kumoko is not the main focus. She's the cutest spider ever <3
But as much as I'm not one to complain about CG when I see good CG, the anime did a poor job in this field. I understand animating spiders, a furry primary colored laser shooting dragon, and thousands of monkeys are very difficult. BUT the quality was so bad v.v
Luckily, this was an anime where one character made
...
everything tolerable.

The main character and Shitan were annoying. The adventure was supposed to be long and perilous but it seems like everything fell right into everyone's lap. And the pacing of this anime was also very awkward.
The only character I liked and kept me watching this anime were the side characters; especially Yukimaru. Its such a shame that we only got to learn more about Fena, Yukimaru, and the antagonists. Everyone else were pretty much tools to progress the story aka plot armor. BUT Fena to me, was not worth protecting. The only thing "useful" about her were memories that weren't really hers. She never really
...
developed into a stronger or into HER ideal character throughout what they described as a long journey. It was just painful to watch her in all honesty. The only problem she had was her dispute between Shitan who suddenly changed character out of nowhere and herself. So pretty much she's just a terribly written Mary Sue.
The journey itself was plain. I feel like the creators were trying to show off their beautiful art which I admit was very lovely to look at. But thats it. The plot during the journey was plain because it was SO easy. Fena's implanted memories became utter bull to me. The longer they used this concept, the more I felt determined to skim through. Maybe if they had more episodes in the anime, then maybe they could have fit more plot and plot holes.
Overall, this entire anime was simply awkward. If you're interested in pretty art, animation, and pretty music WITHOUT the plot, then by all means go watch. But this was a disappointment to me.
PS: The romance bits were weak so don't expect too much.

When I saw the cover of the anime in the beginning of the Spring Season 2021, I thought, "This must be for kids." So I avoided it, forgetting my motto:
Never judge a book by its cover.
One day, I was listening to a bunch of random anime openings that Youtube recommended, and I heard the music for this anime. It was so catchy, I had to see what other people were saying about it in the comments. And there I saw, people praising this anime called, "OddTaxi."
Curious about its high praise, today, I decided to watch the show after a frustrating biochemistry exam.
...
And I was not let down! This anime kept throwing surprises left and right. Primarily, I thought this would be an episodic series about the life of a regular taxi man with people as animals. BUT This show goes deeper and digs into the psychological of criminals, the lost, and mentally injured people. I don't know if it has been done before, but when it was revealed that all the animals were all an illusion depicted by the mind of the taxi, I felt abit sad. I too wished they were all animals, but only for a second.
Although I'm not in my 40's yet nor have I lived enough experiences, I could relate or atleast understand most of the characters' emotions. I always found it hard to interact with people to the point sometimes I wished they or I would disappear, I would want attention from alot of people like Kabakawa, and I went through a similar experience similar to Tanaka (well not to that extreme).
Although the animation isn't particularly spectacular, the story got me. I would highly recommend this to people!

When I first saw the trailer for this anime, I was extremely excited! I was ready to accept this anime with open arms and add another girl to my favorite waifu list. The main character has blue flames and an albino crow as a friend! I fell in love with her at first sight. However, the show proved to be very disappointing. I often found it hard to watch as each episode felt mediocre. The concept is pretty interesting with the setting of future technology mixed with traditional Japan, and the animation looks pretty great. However, the pacing is messy and the characters are mediocre.
Each
...
episode seems to rush their content. When it comes to the important stuff, the anime doesn't tell you much. It gives you a small clip of flashbacks that would give you a hint on the main plot. I get that the story follows Sawa who only lives to get revenge on a man who killed her entire family. But the question is- what's the plan? How are you going to get revenge? Who is this man you want to kill? Are you going to do this alone? I had many questions, but many were lightly touched. I spent most of my time watching creative and smooth fighting scenes rather than obtain any information. And by the time I get to Episode 4, she's already fighting the big boss! I was so confused at that point. I felt that as if I missed a couple of episodes because of how little background we were given.
The characters weren't any better as well. They didn't feel like people due to their bland characteristics. I think at some parts, the characters try to bring a little comedic relief, but I kept missing it. There was just nothing appealing besides their looks to like. I guess in future episodes they'll explain more about the side characters such as Elena and Makoto, but if they already brought in the big boss, I would expect them to explain a little bit about the other characters by now. Putting them aside, the biggest disappointment was Sawa! She had no special characteristic that would make her stand out to the supporting characters, and that's really bad! All I get from her is a wasted cool animation shot of her transforming into a badass dead thing and again, she has a cool white crow! But what else is there for her? Does she want to take revenge for her murdered family? We already have that in so many anime, so what makes her unique out of all of them? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. I expected her to be quite powerful but her fights are the same in each episode. She gets badly hurt, she makes a speech, and she kills her opponent. Her fighting doesn't improve nor does her characteristic.
My opinion might change as I watch more of the episodes, and I might update my review, but my expectation is pretty low at this point since I'm already 33% into the anime.

This was a very typical sports anime that caters towards the female audience. Although there weren't exactly superpowers, the skaters often broke physics and do inhumane tricks that would make the show seem over-the-top. Sometimes I would find myself cringing when it became overdramatic. The characters as well weren't too interesting. The only thing that stood out to me was their vibrant hair color and their skater design. I mean iI guess the only interesting character was Leki since he had the most realistic and relatable feelings. AND he was the most normal. Neverheless, I did have fun watching all the crazy things that
...
the show put out so I kept watching. And the animation was super SUPER good! So it wasn't bad at all. It was just typical though. Nevertheless, I kept watching since I wanted to see what crazy thing would the anime create.

If I was an anime only viewer, then, I would say this show was quite interesting. It still caught my attention and I still watched to see what happens next. I liked the suspension?, and I would have been happy for their earned freedom. However, I have caught up and finished reading the manga, and I am extremely disappointed in the lack of content the studio skipped over. It became extremely awkward at many points and I feel like the characters weren't as alive as in season 1 or in the manga. I can't remember much of what Ray, my favorite main protagonist did. And
...
they did my poor Emma dirty!
I can't understand the reason why they would do such a thing. This manga has been finished for awhile so I'm pretty sure they had enough time to plan out each episode and had enough time to include everything. BUT this can't be an excuse as they decided to include some of the events from the manga especially in the ending! Again, if I was an anime only fan AND this had a different title like promised neverland-the original (something similar to full metal alchemist) then my opinion might have been better than currently. Don't add stuff from the manga if they're going to skip over an entire arc. Don't show a presentation at the end cause that just confuse everyone. Really, they should have held off the anime.
To some this might be an overreaction, however, once your favorite manga is becoming an anime, there is an obvious and expected expectation that your favorite arc, most tragic scenes, and the most important or favorite characters would be included. BUT NO they didn't! If you don't care about all these, then I guess you could watch it. Nevertheless, I wouldn't recommend...

I used to be a huge Horimiya fan and I was ecstatic when I saw the trailer of the anime adaptation! The art look so visually beautiful, the animation is so smooth, and their voice sound so relaxing to hear.
But then when the first episode came out, my excitement turned into disappointment. The visuals and the sounds are top notch. Great for a shoujo romance anime. And the cute moments are done very well! Nevertheless, I hated the pacing in the story and how much they changed or added some scenes in the manga that never existed. I guess it was to make each episode
...
reach the 20 minute criteria, but it just made the episodes feel clunky and awkward. It doesn't mean I hate the show entirely, but my expectation did dwindle abit when it comes to story-telling.
Also just want to point out something since I reread the manga and is watching the show. I honestly think their relationship is pretty toxic. If I put myself in Miyamura's shoes, I would get out of that relationship in a jiffy. Making your boyfriend do something you don't like or constantly wandering who he's been hanging out with is kind of a huge red flag of toxicity. I know this is an anime and people are going to tell me "OH WOH! YOU'RE WRONG! YOU'RE MAKING IT SOUND WORSE THAN IT IS!" But thats whats shown blatantly to someone who's been in a good and bad relationship...

Story: This anime really drew me in. Although I could tell the main theme of the plot by watching the first episode, I still kept watching. In this anime, instead of telling you the meaning of death or topics around that subject, they instead take you around the importance of yourself and those around you; as well as forgiveness. Usually, when anime take this route, I would assume, "There must be a God that will forgive them." But the story has the main characters learn and grow themselves, and in the end, learn to forgive thyself. Personally, I have problems with accepting myself and there
...
are times when I can't forgive myself for causing hurt towards another person or myself. Therefore, this anime made me feel as if I was watching a life lesson. The only problem I had was the lingering questions in the end. There were still quite a few plotholes that I wanted the anime to cover, but maybe keeping it a mystery was part of the plan?
Art and Sound: The animation is fantastic. Not one frame shows laziness as expected from a 2000s anime. I felt a bit of similarity to Naruto's (not shipudden) style of art in the show, making it quite nostalgic to watch.
For the music, I don't remember much about it, but the sound effects were great, especially when Rakki was in the walls.
Character: This one is abit hard. I didn't find anyone astounding in particular. Everyone had their own way of living and no one was overbearing. The only issue I had was that the anime didn't really explain too much about the characters. I wanted to know more about Rakka's past, but as well as the side characters' past. The only mystery that was solved really was Rekki. That was great and all, but it left me quite disappointed in the end. My favorite character had to be The Communicator. His words always sent a chill up my spine, especially when he talked about the Circle of Sin. "If you recognize your sins, then you have no sin. But if you then believe you have no sin, you no longer recognize your sins."
Overall: I'm sad that this anime is not well known. I would definitely recommend this anime to those who are looking for a chill yet a soul touching anime.

Story: It felt way too rushed. I don't understand why they didn't just make a 20 minute episode instead of creating a 8 minute episode if they are going to make 51 episodes. The story was terribly explained and the problems were fixed half-assedly. The mechanics of the game weren't even explained so basically, you had to figure out what the heck is going on. This anime made me more tired than satisfied watching.
Art and Sound: Pure laziness. There are some parts where I thought they animated pretty nicely or the art quality looked amazing. But then they bring in the awkward CGI that doesn't
...
fit with the background. The only thing that I found pretty neat were the characters. But thats about it.
Characters: DISGUSTING! The show tried their best to make everyone have a complicated personality, but every LAST ONE OF THEM just gave me a headache. There was no decent characters. Even the monsters were treated like trash. For example, all the main characters; Ren, Aoi, Akira, and Minami have more than one monsters, and yet, none of them had the thought of using more than 1! I'm pretty sure in the actual game, Monster Strike actually allows you to play with more than one monster at a time. SO I don't know what the heck the creators or the studio of this anime was thinking. ALSO ORAGON? Weird mascot, but he was the least annoying in the show.
OVERALL: This was a waste of time and I don't recommend. Unless you're looking for shows to add to your episode/anime count... もったいね!!!!

Story (5/10): A veteran mahou shoujo is a wonderful idea, but the anime did a poor job with the concept. There were too many plot holes which in the end, concluded with many questions not being answered. How were they chosen to become magical girl? Why were the humans the one being used as energy? How did the humans get in touch with these magical being? And so on. Due to the confusion, I could not attach myself to the show nor show any sympathy towards those who died. It was very difficult to continue watching the anime.
Art + sound (10/10): The animation and the
...
voice acting was wonderful. These were the main reason on why I remained until the end. As a person who loves dark and eerie theme, I love how most of the death was animated beautifully well. Also loved how they didn't hold back.
Character (6/10): Most of the characters in this show were very mediocre. There were not enough screen time for some of the mahou shoujou to allow me to understand everyone's characteristic. The ones with enough screen time were pretty disappointing especially Asuka. Her indecisive characteristic made me want to punch her most of the time and I get frustrated with how weak her mentality was. But as soon as she goes back to fighting, it seems like she's more of a Mary Sue so I never got attached to her. She is pretty though. Kurumi had a better personality but only by alittle. It kept switching time to time. Although I was able to pinpoint that she had a lunatic + MC obsession, she was very stereotypical. I guess the characters that I did like were the supporting characters; Nozomi and Hata. They weren't over the top nor too boring. But they were still meh.
Overall, this anime is very cliched. The only enjoyment I got out of this was; BLOOD, BLOOD, SLICE HAND, MORE BLOOD!!!!! (if you like this then, go ahead and watch)
