Both are very good works of Jiro Taniguchi, that tell the story of a man researching his past, one by his own memories, the other by living it again. They both have that melancholic vibe that Taniguchi has in lots of his work (like Kodokou No Gourmet) and leave you thinking for a while about what you've readed.

For me, one of the best works of Kazuo Kamimura, tells also the story of an out-of-society woman and in some chapters we can also see in the background the poverty in Japan and the post-war occupation troops. It's also a revenge story that I personally enjoyed a lot with one of the finest arts I've seen in classic manga. If you liked Shouwa Ichidai Onna, you will deifinitely love Shurayuki-hime.
