Holy cow.
I had enjoyed the series back in season one and the start of this season was progressing well in my opinion. Then they hit us with episode 6 of season 2 and, I must say, it is the best episode of anime that I have seen this YEAR.
Melt’s character development is easy to sympathise with and it’s phenomenal how a side character is so in depth and engaging. His moment in the Kizami vs Monme scene has me stunned, even on my 10th watch (no cap). The way the music amps up for the first part to then transition to the flashback of

how he began to understand his character. Just wow! The beautifully animated segment that comes after gives me goosebumps each time that I rewatch it and seeing Yoriko in tears once the scene is over makes my face match the smug grin on the Casting Director’s. I’m sat there saying “That’s my boy” even though he was hardly touched in season one.
All in all, episode 6 has a moment that will never be dulled by repetition for me, it is completely magical. So watch Oshi No Ko 2; it’s better than 1 and that was great.
