Isekai Smartphone is what KonoSuba should have been, MC/plot wise, that's not saying that either one is bad, I liked both, just Isekai has a better MC and plot, though... I must admit, KonoSuba made me laugh more, and it doesn't have as many bland characters in the MC's harem. Oh, did I mention that the harems were both interesting (and funny at times) in how they did/didn't work together? Yeah. Now, onto the similarities: Both have the MC go to a world with magic, guilds, and adventure after death. Both have the MC be able to take one thing with them to the new world. In Isekai, it's a smartphone enhanced with magic, in KonoSuba, it's a goddess who (extremely minor spoiler alert) is kinda useless, and who spends all his hard-earned money several times. Both MC have harems in the form of his party Both have a more or less useless mascot of the party (well, in Isekai's case, Kohaku is useful in the LN, but not so much in the anime, like, useful in two scenes and as a method of communication, while in KonoSuba's case, Aqua is useful against undead and... for party tricks, I guess, and she screws up enough that she more than makes up for the useful bits) Both have a girl whose main attack is an explosion, and a girl who has a hard time hitting anything, though, she is good as a kind of distraction. Oh, and a girl who does not care about, and, in fact, LIKES getting stripped in public. Can't forget that. Both MCs have minor perverted tendencies, though KonoSuba's MC is more so. Now, for the differences: In KonoSuba, the MC is not OP AF, unlike Isekai, and he and his team are very good at causing collateral damage. In KonoSuba, I guess the girls in the MC's harem are all kinda sorta VERY quirky, with a masochistic noble, a pyromaniac mage, and a useless goddess. Honestly, my main problem with KonoSuba is the fact that a masochist who can't hit anything and a mage who can only cast one spell, and only once per day, are each far more useful than a goddess, and that the MC is still alive only because of, well, uh... several dozen Ex Machinas and a goddess who finds him dying to be too funny to let him stay dead, instead living to die another day in another stupid way. Seriously, he died the first time (about three minutes into episode one, so it's not really a spoiler IMO) because he THOUGHT he was hit by a truck when he wasn't. Still, if you like one, you'll probably like the other, at least a decent amount
