Dr. Stone is a rare property, both in its manga and anime, that is able to be appealing to all generations while being an extremely educational show. Set 3700 years after a global catastrophe that left humanity locked in a stone prison, Ishigami Senku awakens from his deep slumber after having counted every second since his petrification. In a world given back to nature, the modicums of modern day science lost to time, he uses his encyclopedic memory of biology, chemistry, physics, to move towards a simple yet difficult goal: resurrect all 7 billion humans and rebuild modern society. The cast of characters that we ... interact with on the screen or in the pages of the manga are an eclectic bunch who all have solid, if not a bit simple, motivations that drive them forwards as the story progresses. I highly recommend this anime as something to help get their friends to watch the medium, for those who enjoy animation and art this is also a beautifully rendered show, music lovers will greatly enjoy the soundtrack, and anime fans as a whole can kick back and relax to the familiar medium and a really well written story.

Attack on Titan is, without a doubt, a defining anime for the generation. With impeccable artwork, animation, soundtrack, and easily recognizable opening themes even to those who don't watch anime it is a ratings smash. Unfortunately, it is a ratings smash. While it is an extremely visually appealing and easy to consume anime for its quality alone, deeper dives into the themes, imagery, inspirations, and story aspects of Attack on Titan are disturbing to say the least. The usage of military supremacy, the discrimination of those who aren't of the predominant race inside the walls, the concept of genetic superiority, the religious worship of leadership ... figures, and most glaringly the depiction of the Titan, which generally have features similar to that of the exaggerated features that are used to discriminate against those of Jewish origins, as well as the similarities of the Titan to the Jewish Golem, that of a mindless creature unable to speak or express, given an express task, in the Tiatn's case extreme violence and destruction. I can't pull myself to morally recommend anyone watch Attack on Titan, and its following series, as it shows extreme sympathy for fascist ideals and when idolized as "peak fiction" it bodes that the generation has forgotten the dangers of mass discrimination and militarization.
