My point of view: I didn't read the manga. (Also, if this happens to be relevant to you, I went into this anime not supporting relationships with age gaps like this one)
Story: Although this anime is considered a romance, I honestly like how the main relationship was already set up to fail. The main character was a confused young teen who "fell" in love with a goofy guy in his 40's. Rather than progressing their "romantic" relationship, they explored the factors behind it. Why does she believe that she's in love with a middle-aged man she knows nothing about? What happened to make her feel
...
this way? What do both parties get out of the relationship? Because of this, the characters were really the shining part of this anime. In regards to the story, I felt as though the climax, the conflict, and the conclusion were awfully weak. I've seen slice of life with a more distinct plot than this. In conclusion, the plot was about a relationship destined to fail, and it worked; however, the other elements of the plot were a bit weak.
Art: The art was glorious. I loved how the art kind of had the aesthetic of the natural beauty after a rain. Sometimes it was dim and gray, but during the more important scenes, it was shiny and bright, almost like the sun was reflecting the image off of a puddle.
Sound: The sound was how I usually like it, un-recognizably good. The background music was subtle, beautiful, and didn't distract you from the show. However, I feel as though the ending song, Aimer's "Ref:rain", was my favorite part of the show. In fact, I feel as though the song gave a better interpretation of the show than the show itself.
Characters: The characters were really the shining part that, I believe, saved the show. At first, the 2 main characters were just a teenager, Akira, and her crush/boss, Kondou. Throughout the animation, the characterization progresses creating characters who are not only more complex but realistic and relatable. I do, on the other hand, feel as though a lot of the side characters suffered with a lack of development. The lives of these side characters were brought up, but they were missing a special touch: the why behind the behavior. It wasn't even that the characters were flat characters, there was room for development and progression; the anime just passed on the opportunity. Considering how the characters did take a part in the plot, I felt as though they should've had a little more development.
Enjoyment: Although I was entertained enough to stick with the show, I still felt like my enjoyment was a tid bit above average. It had potential, but I felt as though it missed out on a lot that could've made it better. I was waiting for a break out moment that never really came. A part of me wonders if the manga did a better job of branching out on the plot and other characters.

Enjoyment: So, I already watched (and reviewed) the other 2 movies centered on this story and I feel like Goldilocks who finally found the "just right" porridge.
Plot: I mentioned in another review that the plot would've been better if the story was portrayed via episodes rather than a movies. Granted, the episodes add up to one long a** movie, but I feel this method of focusing solely on Miou and Haruki did some good. Of course the movie was a good definition of a cheesy teenage romance, yet it wasn't distasteful cheese. It was like an "I'm in the mood for this cheese" cheesy. And
...
even for a tantalizing romance, the ending had its mature parts. Although the conflict was a bit too weak for my liking, I don't think there's anything bad the viewers can't grasp from the trailer or name of the show
Art:The art is once again beautiful and perfect for the setting and tone.
Sound: The sound weren't bad. Nothing extraordinary about it.
Character: I feel like the highlight of the show are the two protagonists and the fact that all of the other characters were finally in their rightful roles: barely-relevant supporting characters!!! There are many romance anime (and shows in general) that either only focus on one character or don't delve into the love birds' personal stories at all. Both sides of the romance had backstories, goals, and hobbies, and the actual love story wasn't the sole focus. I got to know more about the characters which I felt made the love story more sell-able. I've already said it on multiple accounts that I find some of the other characters rather cliche and/or annoying, but at least they weren't main characters and were shoved into a more secondary role.

Enjoyment: How can I describe this experience? Imagine if Mirai Nikki and Guilty Crown had an attractive baby, but they didn't parent him well so he turned into an edgy little s*** like his parents.
Plot: The plot to me can easily be compared to click-bait or a disappointing Amazon purchase. If you were given a general synopsis of the plot, it would come off as an intriguing survival anime. However, the plot doesn’t follow the logical constructions it made for itself. SO A BUNCH OF KIDS FROM JUST ONE CLASS ARE DYING OUT AND NO POLICE FORCE NOTICES OR CARES? PARENTS AREN’T WONDERING WHY THEIR
...
KIDS AND KID’S FRIENDS ARE DYING GREUSOMLY? I stamp BS on that. The next issue was that it tried to fit in 2 King's Games in 12 episodes. There was no balance in between flashback and present-day so for a while, you’re asking "Where are we now?" "Why was this brought up again?" Also, because they tried to fit in two stories in that short airing time, it left a lot of plot holes that some try to answer with “It’s fiction; it doesn’t need logic.” or “Wait till you find out who the King is…” And when the “King” was finally revealed, a bunch of plot holes and impossibilities followed. A lot of the drama was coerced and either should've never happened at all, or easily could’ve been avoided if a little logic was added into the mix.
Art: The art is decent; if it wasn't, I wouldn't watch it (sorry, I'm picky that way). But, nothing's too special about it and I feel like the gory design does more harm to the show than good. The art is one of the main things that form the show's dark tone, and it comes off as a try-hard attempt for an edgy tone.
Sound: Sound doesn't stand out, and I don't exactly hate those kinds of soundtracks. I'd rather it be unnoticeable (hence BACKGROUND music) then it being distinctly terrible (If it's distinctly good, then kudos!!). The main issue I had; the opening. I don't hate the song, and Coldrain’s cool...when used appropriately. Here, it just strengthened the try-hard attempt to get a certain tone.
Characters: It goes without saying that a 12-episode anime filled with 2 classrooms worth of teenagers was going to have s****y characters. A majority of the cast acts as fodder; the anime literally waits until they’re about to die to give them a backstory or personality and expect us to care about someone we just met 5 minutes ago. Sadly, I like the fodder better. You have your average bland-looking main protagonist that all the main girls will still fall for simply cuz “he’s kind”. In this show, the men do most of the investigating and are usually the ones who’re given king orders (usually sexual or violent orders). Other relevant men include the average high schoolers who pointlessly turn homicidal to increase the action. Most of the women were blubbering victims who look to the men (and sometimes other girls) to protect them. The ones who tried (and failed) to progress the plot were also inspired by male crushes or past sexual trauma. The most memorable girl, Natsuko, was branded a villain, she was hypocritical and was never all that menacing, she just flung used condoms and acted like your average high school b****.

Reviewer's point of view: I was having a romance marathon and thought why not add fuel to the fire. I saw the prequel, I did not read the novels, and I don't listen to vocaloid.
Plot: So I did find the plot much more bearable than the last one. The reason I disliked the prior film iwa because the movie tried cramping in multiple stories while only a few were given an appropriate plot or conclusion. This sequel did a better job by focusing only on the love rectangle (?) involving the protagonists Hina, Kotarou, their respective siblings, and Koyuki. The love story had a longer
...
period of time to develop so I felt in the know this time. But certain things remained constant with its predecessor, for example the incomplete ending.
Art: The art is once again beautiful and perfect for the movie's tone.
Sound: So, I'm not involved in the vocaloid community. I don't think I've voluntary listened to vocaloid besides some songs in Mekaku City Actors. But for the most part, they were okay. The lyrics to the songs were perfectly matched with the scene. I think there was only one song I really liked while the other one's I just didn't hate.
Characters: I complained about the previous movie having too many cliche and shallow characters and now I feel like I got smacked with karma because it got worse. The main character, Hina, is much more unbearable than Natsuki. (If you don't want the 1st five minutes spoiled, skip to the next paragraph):
So 1st five minutes into the movie; Hina trips Koyuki with a broom. He falls and all the trash he was holding fell out on the floor. She yells at him for dirtying the floor she just cleaned without apologizing for tripping him. As she rants, her legs are wide open and Koyuki can see her panties from the floor and promptly warns her. She gets mad at him for seeing her panties even though her legs were wide open. Next day: she's in love!!!
Natsuki's annoying attitude and rudeness towards the guys in her life are unbearable and not funny. She whines over the littlest issue and seems to care for nobody but herself. Even I have to feel sorry for the cliche Kotarou for falling in love with her. There seemed to be only one character with a more complex story-line, but was only utilized in the movie as a wing man, or woman.
Enjoyment: I enjoyed seeing the better plot, but the characters gave me headaches and there was no conclusion. I think the most enjoyable part I saw was when some of the characters got tickets to see the movie, The Anthem of the Heart, (I recommend it) and I was like, "Yeah, go watch that and take notes on what a romance movie should look like!!"

Reviewers point of view: I was having a romance marathon and thought why not add fuel to the fire. I saw both movies, but am only putting in my opinion for the first one. I did not read the novels. I don't listen to vocaloid.
Story: Put nicely, the plot is basic and rushed. I know the movie is only an hour, but I felt like it put in stories that it couldn't handle. I didn't try to remember most of the characters' names (I'm also VERY bad with names) so if I was asked to describe all the love stories, it would sound like
...
I was spreading some middle school rumor:
"Insecure guy likes pretty feminine girl who he thought for a second liked androgynous white haired boy who likes cliche tomboy who likes her childhood friend who is friends with a loud blonde boy who likes tomboy's best friend but can't tell her."
And I'm STILL leaving out another love story so that's 5 love stories!!! Only 3/5 love stories had some sort of conclusion and only 2 got definite answers via confession. The movie only truly focused on the relationships involving Natsuki, the cliche tomboy protagonist. I felt like I would've liked the movie more had they just stuck with Natsuki's story instead of adding details on unnecessary love lives around her because they got no sort of conclusion. And I would've liked it if it was adapted into a show, giving more time for detail and conclusions with the supporting characters.
Art: The art was absolutely gorgeous and the main thing that hooked me to the movie in the first place. It was bright, fresh, and colorful; an appropriate design for a movie about adolescent "love".
Characters: I know the movie is only about an hour, but I have watched 10 minute short films (Yeah, you know which one!!!) that made me feel something towards the characters more than this movie did. All of the characters just seemed like your generic cliches without any complexity put into them. I was also rather annoyed with Natsuki's hypocritical friends who urged her to confess her love but never did the same thing themselves. Finding any conflict or climax between the characters was like grasping for straws. I think the big issue for my apathy was the fact that I wasn't cheering any relationship on. The characters were yearning for love, but for why? "JUST BECAUSE?" (lol, it's another romance anime). Although I know love is hard to explain, it's I would appreciate a reason as to why it can't be anyone else.
Enjoyment: Not that enjoyable. The characters were bland, predictable, and more annoying than they were funny. The plot was basic, rushed, and had no complexity. My only enjoyment was watching the pretty animation.

Reviewers Point of view: I did not read the manga. And I know pretty much NOTHING about gambling other than black jack and the house always wins. Possible Spoilers
Plot: So I went into this anime with high expectations due to the hype it got from the manga. This hype and optimistic outlook I had into the anime slowly decreased when I came back to earth; this anime is just about a compulsive gambler. I felt like there was no conflict in the plot. Jabami gambled, Jabami's opponents mostly cheated, Jabami saw through the deceptions and bets it all on the best strategy. She wins, ties,
...
or leaves satisfied; rinse and repeat. She never improved, she never slacked off. The one time she actually lost and was put in debt wasn't even a struggle or satisfying because the anime mentioned that she won enough money to pay the debt and simply didn't want to.
Storyline: This storyline, in my opinion, has a hit-or-miss opportunity (some may love it, others may hate it). For the longest, Jabami had no goal and was just going about her school days. Her gambling skills remained constant and thus limited. The only thing that engaged me was trying to figure out what strategy she would take and that was only when I understood the game's rules. 1/3 of the games played relied on the viewer to be familiar with the rules prior the episode (Ex. poker), and if you weren't, you were left utterly confused until the end. Then once we see some inkling of a conflict or goal forming (gambling the entire student council), they missed 2 out of the 9 members (one being quite vocal) and jumped to the "final boss". Then, once we reached the final gamble against the president, the game wasn't rigged (no strategy, sly ability etc. needed) making it anti-climatic and the most important part of the gamble wasn't even done by Jabami. I watched each Sunday, but couldn't predict whether I'd like the episode that week or not.
Art: The art was very detailed. The anime managed to precisely show the viewers the intensity of the situation and the feelings of the players. The, almost sexual, high the players would experience during suspense, the sweat dripping down the stressed opponents face, the almost inhumane appearance of the callous cheaters and Mike abusers, the setting that focused solely on the gamble; all was expressed in great detail.
Sound: I like a soundtrack that is not distracting and can match the situation; I'd like it even better if the songs were memorable and able to blend in with the situation at the same time. The anime soundtrack did just that and the opening and ending songs had this jazzy, flashy, seductive feel in them, which fit the mood of the anime to me. However, I don't know if a dub will come out, but the sub actors were really hard to listen to. Some voices were trying so hard to be queaky and cute or raspy and tough that it was cringe-worthy (*cough* Ikishima and Yomozuki *cough*). Not the worst, but it was uncomfortable when the 2 most vocal council members had annoying voices.
Main Characters: Jabami had no depth to her. There was no reason given as to how she became a compulsive gambler. She was so good at gambling, but it was never revealed why. A lot of the side characters were given a backstory, but Jabami's was left a mystery. When she's not gambling, she kinda acts like any person would around strangers; polite, bland, and fake. She clearly holds her friends dear to her, but her friends weren't really friends. For a good half of the anime, I was still not convinced that Suzui wasn't just hanging around Jabami for "other reasons" ( ;D ). Mary hated her, had to team up with her once, and kinda hung out with her for the latter half because her friends were b****es. Sumeragi only joined her band of misfits because she wanted Jabami to become the new class president and give her a council seat back. I feel like the only reason Jabami really considered them as friends was because some gave her gambling money and others made the games interesting. It's kind of hard to like a character that had no development. She came into the anime as a gambling addict with no friends and came out a gambling addict with questionable friends.
Student Council: Although a school full of rich gamblers is rather uncommon (at least I think it is XD) there are still certain things I expect to remain realistic simply because it's a school setting; they weren't. A callous, tyrannical, student council; okay. A caste system treating those in debt like slaves who have to do ANYTHING the other students say; a stretch, but I'll accept that. A child can bring a loaded gun to school and use it for gambling; NO!! A student can poke another student's eye out; NO!!! The students have their entire lives mapped out until the debt is paid; even if they owe money, NO!!! Some of the student council members were so unbelievable and unrealistic EVEN FOR AN ANIME LIKE KAKEGURUI. There was this big, scary reputation built around the council president being even worse than her council underlings, but she was just another Jabami with power and a strong opinion not about gambling.
Enjoyment: The games I actually understood the rules to were fun to watch. The addition of cheating created a challenge for the bland Jabami and had me trying to guess how she would get out of the mess and win the pot. But, this anime was hit-or-miss for me; some episodes I loved, some I hated, and the last one left me utterly disappointed. Maybe my standards were too high.

Reviewers point of view: The only knowledge I know about cooking and food quality is what I learned from 3 years of Food Network and Harvest Moon games. XD XD XD
Story: For the most part, the story kept me entertained. Although I'm not a culinary expert, I know the basics and I couldn't wait to find out how the main characters were going to overcome each challenge. Even when certain details or foods showed up that I didn't recognize, they were ready with the description; almost like they knew I was about to ask. They described the food so perfectly that I could almost taste
...
it. True, because the penalty of expulsion or being black-balled was always hanging above the characters' heads, there were certain times when you knew there'd be a happy ending (you just didn't know how). But this happened so little times that it wasn't worth a deduction and the strict penalties also gave intensity to other scenes.
Art: The art was very vivid, colorful, and enticing ( XD )!!! I can't even count all the times I ran to the kitchen to eat something because the animation of the food made me hungry. I mainly look for anime that are pleasing to the eye and the graphics and animation were so fun to look at. However, call me whatever you'd like, I'm one of those girls that DON'T like fan-service (unnecessary nudity, strange and/or uncomfortable sexual innuendos, etc.). And this goes for all sexes, not just women. So naturally, I felt very uncomfortable when you have some characters walking around for almost THE WHOLE SHOW in nothing on but an apron. I didn't like those few episodes when you had judges who seemed sexually satisfied by EVERY MEAL that was sat in front of them. Not even going to get into the gravity-defying boobs. There were some times when the nudity was comical, but, just like food, you should serve it in moderation.
Sound: I liked the soundtrack organization in the show. Each song fit perfectly with the scene, and I was able to recognize the songs without being distracted from the anime (which I think is good). I also liked the openings and endings. The openings were energetic and intense while the endings were cute, warm, and friendly; just like the show.
Characters: This was one of the few anime that made me care about more than 2-3 people. Not only did I sympathize with the characters, I wanted more than just the protagonist to succeed. The anime managed to avoid cliche by slightly altering the personalities, emphasizing the cliche in a comical way, or by presenting it in a viewpoint most people wouldn't consider to perceive it as. One critique I may have is how some of the recurring skilled chefs (mainly during the 2nd half) caught my attention but weren't given much depth after the main cast overcame whatever obstacle they represented. Some of the backstories took a while to explain and therefore should've been left out if the character wasn't going to be too relevant after the episode. Of course, there's another season, so these characters might get more depth later.
Experience: Besides the few cringe-worthy fan-service scenes, the anime was quite enjoyable. Watching the anime was sorta like feasting on a guilty pleasure; I knew I had productive things to do, but I couldn't stop watching, and it's been a while since I felt that way about an anime (like I couldn't wait). Rather fitting for an anime about cooking delicious food. XD XD

Reviewers point of view: There are many anime that I don't watch for plot purposes simply to avoid pure disappointment. The SAO series and movies are in that category. I don't read any of the light novels or manga and watch the series solely for the fight scenes and animation.
>I put spoiler footnotes at the bottom for those who already saw the movie<
Story: Watching this movie made me desperately desire a stamp (like the ones at the libraries) that can stamp the words "utter bullsh*t" on this whole plot. And I metaphorically pulled this "stamp" out about...9 times. The conflict
...
of the story was drastic and unnecessarily extreme. The goal the main antagonist was fighting for could've been easily achieved without using all the time, money, and effort that went into things (spoiler footnote #1). There also were ACTUAL parts or facts that the movie stated that contradicted facts stated in the previous anime!!!(spoiler footnote #2) It was hard to for me to empathize with the struggles when they could've been easily avoided. What I find quite ironic, I still think it's the best SAO anime to come out so far.
Art: The art as usual is beautiful and eye-catching. I enjoyed how the fights were choreographed and how the idea of the Augma and Ordinal Scale game were animated. The only complaint I might have is that the final battle wasn't as dramatic or intense as the ones before it which left me with this anti-climatic feeling.
Sound: The soundtrack carried over a few iconic songs of the series which I liked. However there were quite a number of songs sung by Yuna, Ordinal Scale's mascot-like idol/diva. Out of all the songs she sung, I can only remember one I actually liked (spoiler footnote #3)
New Characters: I was left disappointed when it came to the characters. First up: the new characters. The movie references to SAO's 1st season a lot (almost the whole movie). I already sorted out my feelings toward that season and moved on. However the movie attempted to add new, important characters into SAO's former plot. They were never mentioned nor referenced and thus were only put there for the sake of this movie and that made me feel apathetic towards them. (Spoiler footnote #4) This isn't a big deal, but I wish they did what they did with GGO where the antagonist was somebody Kirito met before.
Recurring Characters:The lack of character development was disappointing. You still have the the only two male recurring characters (Agil and Klein) who were MIA a majority of the movie. You still have Silica who still sucks at gaming and just ends up in the heat of battle doing nothing but screaming and waving a weak knife. You still have the inconsistent character of Asuna, where she's sometimes an independent female gamer bad***, sometimes a problematic "housewife" dependent on her lover, and the rest of the time when she's in the middle (basically commentating the battle until the boss is barely alive and she takes the final blow after doing NO WORK!!!).
Kirito: I saw a hope for improvement when I learned that Kirito is new and inexperienced in Ordinal Scale (since the main issue people had with him was him being overpowered). However, that hope dissipated when he somehow managed to become one of the top players in a WHOLE DAY!!! He literally ran around the city fighting bosses and ranking up without getting the least bit tired. (Spoiler footnote #5). For those who told me it was due to the adrenaline he had from Asuna's condition, I metaphorically stamp "utter bullsh*t" on your logic. XD
Enjoyment: It's pretty clear that I did not enjoy this movie. I had so many issues to point out and the only way I'd get them all in is if I were Cinema Sins (Footnote #6). Sadly, this IS the best SAO anime I've seen thus far. XD XD
SPOILER FOOTNOTES:
1. Did it TRULY have to be SAO survivors? Shigemura was truly prepared to do anything for Yuna and if that's the case, would have gotten a more accurate AI of her personality if he gathered his info from the memories of people who knew her best (friends and family) rather than the collection of SAO survivors who saw her as "that singer I may have talked to on the lower floors". It's clear that even without the memories, the bond remains and compare the quota the few who know her best to thousands.
2. Wasn't the 100th floor boss supposed to be Akihiko Kayaba? He was supposed to help the players and then make the big reveal when they reached the top.
3. That's a shame considering Yuna was an important part of the plot. I didn't even like her last song.
4. I refer to Yuna. The whole "she was there and important the whole time and we didn't notice" cliche? Really?
5. By the time Kirito and Eiji finally fought I was rooting for Eiji who actually abandoned his previous weak will and worked his way to the top possible player.
6. Cinema SIns: A popular Youtube channel that's known for going through movies cut-by-cut exposing plot holes and actions that made no sense.

My point of view going into this anime: I DID NOT WATCH ONE PUNCH MAN IN HOPES OF FINDING AN AMAZING ACTION STORY. Tbh, I wasn't going to watch it at all, but my boyfriend swore by it and as a person into psychology/anthropology it would've felt hypocritical to write it off without a 2nd opinion.
Story: So the title couldn't be anymore self-explanatory; a hero who defeats all his enemies with a PUNCH. For those who complained about Saitama being overpowered and the plot not being complex enough....I really don't know what to say to you!!! Oh wait, yes I do; DUH!!! I may have
...
over-read it, but I saw this anime as one giant heap of satire. Just kinda took all the things that people correlate in action, superhero shows and gave it one good punch!! Rather than watching it for a good story, I watched it because I like to laugh and I felt like channeling my inner tomboyish child who was very much into action and superhero shows that had little to no impressive plot, and it's felt nice.
Art: Nothing stood out, nothing was too bad. But there were certain designs and animation I personally felt correlated well with the situation.
Sound: One Punch Man's soundtrack and opening are one of the most popular. I've heard people yell "One Puuuuuuuunch!!" at the top of their lungs but could not tell me what anime it came from. I don't think it's over-hyped, the soundtrack and opening go well with the anime's theme and makes me feel invigorated or bada*** whenever I listen to it.
Character: Although many of the supporting characters are stereotypical or just goofy altogether, I didn't see a big problem in it since I wasn't expecting any masterpiece-like character development. My main attention was pointed towards Speed of Sound Sonic (for...biased and baseless purposes XD) and Saitama. Saitama wasn't your average hero which gave the anime its satirical demeanor.

MY VIEWPOINT IS THAT OF AN ANIME FAN WHO PLAYED VARSITY VOLLEYBALL
If you've seen my profile and and my ratings, you can tell I love this anime and I consider it a favorite for a reason!!!! So I'm not just making baseless theories
Story: As an athlete and VOLLEYBALL player, I personally level with the story. A below average spiker who, for a good while, only learned about volleyball through TV, school, and solo practices. He meets a spiker with a superiority complex and together they make the perfect pair that becomes a vital part of Karasuno. Just like Hinata, I was a below average middle
...
whom had to rely on leg power and a tall vertical alone. I also had to work alongside a setter who had a discrepant superiority complex AND self-esteem issues. Eventually, we learned an approach together that was vital for our team. The story was so similar to my time as a volleyball player that it was scary. For the most part, the story was believable and the obstacles the team faced were all things real players would experience. (don't have to believe it if you don't want to, but it's the truth). The only aspect about it that I found not realistic was the mutated quick that Kageyama does for Hinata. Besides all the explanations they give, the move IS impossible. Another aspect I found unbelievable was the idea of Hinata spiking for so long without even seeing the ball. That's also 90% unlikely and can lead to injury.
Art: The art for the most part was chill. Nothing spectacular, but not bad, and I felt as though the games were animated well.
Sound: The sound wasn't bad and wasn't distracting which I liked. I loved Haikyuu's 2nd theme "Ah Yeah!" and if I were to hear the other openings/endings again after all these years, I would quickly realize it was Haikyuu.
Characters: The characters were what truly won me over. Each member had a story with a difficult struggle that either I myself or other real volleyball players I know have experienced. The drive of Karasuno was very contagious and always made me want to hit the court after each episode. Watching the games was like watching an actual volleyball match on ESPN and it felt better since I actually knew the players struggles and accomplishments.
I think it goes without saying that I enjoyed every second of this anime. XD
