It's the kind of series that we continue to follow because it's so bad that we're curious to know how far it can go...
Once again, we have a very annoying male hero because he is incapable of saying more than 3 words in a row, but in the vast majority of his exchanges, he says nothing! Not even komimasai, there’s silence!
He lets the misunderstanding grow...
here we are not talking about a cultural difference from Japan but about a hero who has more communication problems than an autistic person...
As is often the case in school romcoms, the main character is a cliché of the extremely shy
...
kid who makes a big deal out of touching his girlfriend's hand except that here, the girlfriend was up for everything barely 5 minutes after they got into a relationship.
So, unlike other romcoms of the genre, this time, all the moments (and there are many) where the hero makes plans to hold hands, the indirect kiss, all the classic clichés no longer have any meaning ... it's ridiculous to do a fake suspense and whole episode with tricks and everything because he wants to hold her hand while she's ok for the whole thing.
Ok, there is the "real feeling of love" that they want to develop first but the main character is too shy and annoying compared to the girlfriend for that to be credible. Plus, it looks like she has over 50 exes so it's going even less well.
It's typically the kind of romcom that we watch more out of curiosity because the scenario is very bad and we watch it anyway... but once it's over, we only remember that it's very bad and that we should never watch it again...
It's rare that at this point we have a romcom where we constantly wonder why the girl has an interest in this kid who is a big drag, annoying as hell and who when he speaks shows that it's is a big geek who really isn't made for her.
The secondary characters are as hollow as possible and the animation music is basic.
I've seen the 5th episode, it's certain that it's not going to get good all of a sudden, like by magic.
I'm going to pause this series and watch in fast motion when all the episodes are available and put a mark "to delete, forget and especially not watch this anime again.

How can we put in place so many good ideas and promising things for the future and make a sequel at this point without any connection with season 1???
Frustrating and annoying are the two words that best describe this sequel which is not really one as there is no real link with season 1.
We even wonder at one point what the point of the story is because the MC is wasting his time on insignificant things as if he didn't want to see these missing loved ones again and this break with season one reaches a point. summit with “FITZ”!

often wondered if it was really Sylphiette... or if she was the victim of a curse that made her forget everything or forbade her from saying who she was... why Does she act like she has no connection with Rudeus?
and by episode S02E11, I understood that it was just rubbish and poorly written!
In the end, 12 episodes with a depressive and helpless hero who seems to not give a damn about his sister, his mother and his friends .
It's only at the very end of episode 12, Rudeus asking him self, how he could have not understand Fitz was Sylphiette ? ... and he also remember he was supposed searching his mother&Co, sic
I will watch part 2 of season 2 and hoping it was a failed arc, following book story ... if wished they made this arc into 2 OAV Episodes.
it's really sad to see a bad season and also the series decline to this point in production quality and especially the change in pace and progression of the story, season 1 so many things happen that it will take too long to list everything and the season 2 which seems to want to extend to the extreme to make lots of seasons but as a result almost nothing happens.
The intro change is very symbolic.
But hey, it's mostly Fitz who doesn't tell Rudeus who she is throughout the season even though she loves him + main issu of the season was his erectil trouble, that makes this long OAV season annoying.

I saw a lot of romantic anime and I really enjoyed watching this one.
I gave a nice 8 based on enjoyment I had watching it.
I dunno why so many do not recommend to watch, and that's why I decide to write a quick review.
I don't care if it's cliché or already made this story (to be honest, 99% of JAP anime use the same codes)
It's easy to watch, both MC are less stupid than MC we have in rom-com ( most of the time they made the anime impossible to watch...)
In this one the relation
...
start based on none "sexual attraction", they insist a lot on that point, and it became a kind of trap and the story dilemma. I liked this pitch : "how switching relation type from friend to lovers when the relation start with" trust me I'm not looking for love story with you, if I was the case, I'll run away ) basic, but I bet lot will live this situation in real life (a forbidden mutual attraction with co-worker isn't very rare, for example) .
In a way, it's like they decide a strong and deep in the friend zone relation was a kind of obligation and moral contract between them. Because of this statement, they will be able to show to the other the real personality etc
If you don't understand this point, this anime will have no sense and can be very painful to watch because you'll see no reason why the relation is stuck and doesn't move to the next step.
Besides that, I enjoyed also because there's no the super annoying character in the all show.
no big drama, no evil psycho or bad character
the story flow is excellent ( only the end , it pushes a little bit too far the male MC indecision and fell like they stretch story to have 12 ep ... ).
I don't think they'll make a S2 and I wished the ep 12 was the EP11, and they made a fan service EP12 :) I'm betting this will be the OAV.
In fact, compare to other school rom-com, this one is by far the less frustrating and gave all what I was looking for when I watch anime with a title like this. (I wasn't looking for a Romeo & Juliet 2)
I bet those who hate this one, loved anime like " Clannad" ;) ( OH yes, I hated it so much :) )

A quick review from a big fan of season 1 and 2, 3 was acceptable...
AND IT'S A REVIEW OF Season4 PART2 ONLY, This is not a review of the all anime ...
I hit the "spoiler warning box" but There's No spoil in this review .
the only spoil is : this has nothing in common with the original serie, it take some characters and lost them in the dungeon ...
IT's a endless fight season and I bet someone who never saw S1 , S2 and S3 will enjoy more than those who watched the previous seasons.
...
It's just two loooooooooong fights: hero one side and the team on an other , and they kept cutting action and suspsens with switching ...
If It was season one, this all part2 would fit in one or maybe half episode.
This S4 has nothing in common with the original series ( only the 6 ep from part1 are in the same spirit of the original serie) after that it became painfull to watch and follow.
You can skip it, you'll have no problem to follow the next season.
+ this is a very bad dungeon trap senario who made every possible mistake to kill viewers interrest ( exemple: One minute they are close to death they can barely move and next second they kill tons of hyper powerfull mobs ... )
Tons of very basic and repetive blabla.
Many times, I had the felling, I already watched this episode but no it was the new one... sic

they put "The never diing bad guy", the One who kept coming back until final ep ! ( this is not a real spoil, anyone would see it coming since the ep 1 of the part2.. )
the only originality: The final boss transformation made him much much weaker :)
It lost what make him terrifing and overpowered, it lost his particularity !!!
I'll consider season 4 stopped after the episode6 parts 1 and will wait for resume, or will make my self.
If they make 2 episodes resume oav, one for part one and for parts 2, it will be much better to watch instade of the all season (part 1+2)
I hope the next season will be like the previous season.

Once again, an anime who start with top rate 9+ since ep 1 and once again I don't understand who it could have such a good rating note so fast and keep it !?
Once again an other animé with a over cliché neet MC and they push way to much with this one and she is by far what killed my enjoyment.
Still don't understand why so many anime try to beat the record of the most annoying, fun killer, stupid, shy, boring... main character and in this one we have a serious challenger to this year title.

of incoherent and incompatible things in this MC profil and it's way to much: I didn't buy it .
I like weird MC, unconventional one but this one is just annoying and repetitive
it's supposed to be humour or funny acts the 5+ "melting" per episode ?
It's not Josei but I felt like watching one many time ( I don't use to focus on that, I dunno why this time I pay attention to this absence of man) . It's female cast but man are really missing in the anime who supposed to be in real world. ( only MC's father in the background, I'm not sure we see his face once, and one moment a side story with salary man at the bar)
The production is ok, not fan of this design style but it work well in this anime.
- Super simple for characters and good background with details
The animation is average but passable
The sounds and musics are really good and you don't want skip the "musical part" ( I'm not fan of Jap idols show, not at all ).
after a good start, with a story moving fast it completely lost it and you have 6 filling episodes.
I gave a 5 to this anime because
- The MC is really kill it in terrible bad way
- Nothing remarquable ( except the musical part) in the story or cast and you can skip 3 or 4 ep without noticed.
- weird world without man
- the pink sportwear with a dress over it all the time ! ( one of the to much things on the MC )
with a less melting MC and little more story progression and little more background people, it could be a 7 (my MAL notation 5.8)
Maybe with a very good 2nd and 3rd Season, I'll rise the rating of the first season because I'll consider it's a intro (it's unfair to rate juste a intro)
This anime is very very far from a 9 + ranked14.

I had to write a review to defend this tasty crap :)
I understand the bad notation BUT If you are a male and bored with the generic romcom with the beyond shy MC and wait all the season for a crappy possible last second kiss on the roof of the high school or worst when it end with big flash back of the mc since he was young to today and let you imagine what will happen next and "the end" etc
you should watch this !
first, this 2nd season start with the best previous season summary

it say it all and if you accept what the show is about, see it in parodique mode, you'll enjoy it
I did and that's why i gave a nice 7 to this anime. ( my MAL average notation is 5,5 )
The global production ( graphics, animation , sound, character design etc ) is good average compared to other 2022 productions.
My Anime notation are based on enjoyment and I don't care if it's cliché or if this story was made 100times.
it's ecchi but not porn animation. compare to many other anime, the MC is doing much more sexual things but you'll see less and It's stay funny and not a hentai or porn anime.
Jap anime is now a mass production industry and I prefer by far this kind of generic anime than the one with a MC you wanna kill because he to stupid and nothing really happened
I hope they'll make more funny anime like this

after watching the 12 ep , I gave a nice 3 ... it 's a nice notation because I really liked the 3 seasons.
BUT AFTER THE FINAL episode I changed for a 2 ...
I dunno what happened to this anime, it completely changed in the very bad way... humour is gone, characters profils are ultra basic, the balance blabla /action became blabla only. it's now a very very bad anime. You have news characters coming from nowhere without any explain and next episode forgot them and move to any other arc in the season.

flet like 4 teams worked at the same time on 3 episodes without any link and they mixed it in a thing they named overlord4. and one bonus ep at the end to end the season and maybe the all overlord anime.
It's more a spin off or a Reboot of Overlord and I can"t consider this is overlord4 has a sequel of Overlord 1, 2 , 3 ...
it's a new serie who use the design of Overlord cast ( in fact no , even this changed for Ainz...)
They forget Overlord is a human player trapped in his MMORPG. It's now a real Maou sama ( seem like)
it also deleted most of the casts who had a story development during season 1 to 3 ... it spent 80% of the time following the opposite side 4th level support cast, with endless blabla ( and you know how it will end when you have such an overpowered MC and his team)
it remind me the feeling I had hen I watched OnePunch S2 ... you barely see the mains characters ( 30 sec at beginning episode and that's it) .
The Art changed, it became The ultra generic shiny graphic we see in every jap-anim this year. It lost his specific pattern.
Almost every episodes are full with useless blabla of characters you don't give a F ... I'm sure the all season4 could fit in 3 episodes of old style. Way to much episodes without a single action moment, following ONLY different groups of 4th level of supports characters ... in most anime those characters don't even have face and name because they are so not important.
And This is what other Overlord viewers like because it got a 8.3 MAL notation !!!! I know I've different taste but common !!! 8.3 for this ???? it kept his 8,3 since ep 1 who is very bad start after the wonderfull final of season 3... no more comment on this ...
The story lost itself completely goes every directions to end nowhere so even for a fantasy anime this is very bad, plus no action agin 8.3 seem impossible !!!!
no spoil, but the ep13 is a concentrate and confirmation of the massive fail of this overlord4 as a sequel.
Only 2 passables ep and all the rest was boring as hell and as a big fan of overlord, it was really painful to see my fav serie getting raped this way ... I kept hope until episode 4 ... and I'm glad I lost all hope this quick because after ep4 It's getting worst and reach the level of unwatchable.
it's not a game anime or even a isekai type anymore, it s a fantasy anime but a really bad one.
I didn't want to see the last ep13 but as a fan I had to. I expected nothing good from it and even without any expectation I was very disappointed. ( how can you like this final ??? humm ok maybe those who gave 9 and 10 to the 12st ep can ... )
Exemple of the change : fight with a super-overpowered character vs regular: it lost the fun, use the same instant death attack 95%of the season ... fight are way way to fast and basic for a pinacle moment you were waiting after 3 or more boring episodes.
ep 11 was insult to the original Overlord character and still waiting where those characters came from ? ( and see this mix of style in many anime. I'm not a big fan of this mix of games univers but if it well made It's can be funny. this time it wasn't funny and the worst is : It was by far the best fight of the season4 and one of the passable episode, SIC...
Overlord4 don't respect what made the success of this anime.
Compare final of season 3 , the epic fight and the one of season 4 ... cry cry cry ( maybe they had no budget for it ... spend all the money of actors endless talk )
We are very far from season 1, 2 and 3 ( full of stories dev, lots of absurdes unbalanced fights but super funny, even the supports casts were nice to follow etc)
conclusion : I'll consider Overlord stopped at season3.
This time, I'll not be in hurry to see the overlord5 . But I'll watch it if it's free ... ( as a fan of the 3 seasons, prefer to see this show canceled , SIC )

10/12 episodes watched when I wrote this review.
My notation is 6,5 ( i'll give 7 for first half of episodes and 6 and maybe less for second half.)
Mamahah no tsurego ga Motokano datta is a romcom you'll forget as soon you'll finish watching.
It tryed to go deeper in love feeling explains and relations but because of the Male MC, once again, who is a narcissistic manipulative selfish etc it's a fail. I wish to no one to have a relation with this kind of people and this what kill the show : there 's no reasons
...
you wish to nice and naive girls of this rom com to have relation with the male MC ...
but if you are used to see japanim , you know those kind of male MC ... this one doesn't completely kill my enjoyment to watch.
in fact, this anime is a good time killer and the global story dev is more than passable.
I like the way they made our perception of both MC changed when you learn the past story and at episode 10, it's almost opposite of what I thinking at the first episode.
the support characters came from nowhere ( 1st episode , a stranger a first talk say , "hail , I'm your new best friend " ... literally what happened, but it's ok.)
it's a easy to watch anime, don't watch it seriously, I wait all seasons out before watching and I was easy to watch 10 episodes at the raw without move forward, very few boring parts, useless flashbacks ( little to much the same flashback but it's ok this time), etc that's why my final notation is 7 so far ( my MAL average notation is around 5,8 )
- The art is good ( the average for 2022 romcom but I like it)
- Nothing to say with music and sound, it fit well with happen on screen.
The worst of the show came from ALL supports character who are really "from out of space" ... and the feeling both MC had nolife before this year ... ( the female MC purchase her first swimsuit of her life at 16 ???? )
I'm glad I watched this anime but I don't think I'll rewatche it even this is the kind of anime I'll completely forget in 2years max and can rewatche like if was the first time. I don't think I'll.

Quick review with big super spoil !!
- at the beginning the story evolved quite fast and you'll think "wow 99ep , it's gonna be a wonderful adventure who will end on Mars ... or the Moon at least ... very far from the control room... SIC
- after a very good start, one of the most promising, around ep 21, you'll start to think, " there's way to much the same flashback " but it's ok !
and the story start to spend to much time on support characters, and then more boring drama on support character, if fact you start to

wonder is the Mutta is the main character of the show and it getting worst and worst. like it getting stuck in mud and literally go nowhere !!! but you keep hope , thinking , it's ok still have 40ep to watch , something satisfying will happened and after all those selection and training and drama, the main story will lead to MARS voyage ... and not voyage with mars1 rocket ... :(
- this show lost it self into disgression and forgot the progression of the main story.
- the possible love relation is a shame , I dunno if we can even mention it, 99 ep and they barely speak each other and touch hand one time.
- I don't remember any show who overuse that much the flashback and use "untold the result of a test" for drama . Later, you'll have a flashback to tell you who won the selection, sometime you don't even know if you are in flashback or in current time.
this 99ep show can fit in 24ep easily in fact it would be much better because so many ep are just there for feeling time.
I had to write my review on this anime because I felt this will go nowhere ! spend many ep on story you don't care and forgot the core and pitch of the 10 first ep
my notation went from a solid 8 to a nice 5 ( I say nice because , day after , when i write the review, i think it' a solid 4 ... )
the last 30 ep, I watched with lot of 10sec jump forward, only way to end it, I was thinking , " no , they'll not do that ?! 99 ep for that !? and even at ep 98, they spend time of support character ... the show will end on next ep and there's no chance to see mutta in space !!! can't believe they'll doing this. this not just unsatisfying, this doesn't fit with core of the story ...
> showing all training, hope , progression , 100x the flashback of the 2 brothers who dream to go to the moon etc ... at the end one in control room and other in an other project ( they could have dev the story of the private nippon space project, asteroid etc ... no no no , the aunt sld or the PD trauma were much better for a space show ... can't Believe the waist of good material with a shitty ending ! it's in my top 3 of shitty ending , so bad it ruins the global perception of the all show
not even a OAV or movie to see mutta in space, or asteroid trip ... it really felt the show was cancelled by surprise, after spending 99 to build a background, it miss all the main story ! not showing mutta flying to space in 99 ep show is a fatal error. he didn't failed the selection , he'll have his moon trip but it's not important to show this ?! it was much better to spend 20 ep on the aunt disease in a show name the space brother ?!
lol, i just realized it worst than i taught , I'll change my notation from 5 TO 3 !!!
now, I understand why mutta wearing only half of a space suit on the picture ... you'll see half of the space show

ultra minor spoil review. this review is a warning for those who think this is a comedy romance anime , a kind of seduction .
I had to write a quick review because a the beginning, I had weird doubt about this anime notation I should give
I didn't know if it's 7 or a 1 .
I watched it as a drama, thriller with top amount of mind control and brain washing ... but the think is this not at all how it should be seen ...
I choose the 1 because if you consider this anime

tags "comedy" "romance" "pg13" : it's super appealing !!! and not related to any culture differences ! those who think " we shouldn't juge with our cultural stand , stop reading and go see a mental doctor ! it's urgent.
Only the Anime title is accurate ... all anime tags should be different.
If it was tagged with a thriller, drama pg-18 I would give a 6 or a 7 .
the male MC is a pure psychopath and good exemple of the kind of guys all girl and women should avoid and sister MC is worst friend you could have ! she should be jailed with him !!!
I know this fiction anime but I this kind of predators profil of the MC, with complice to hunt a prey is very real and they are real danger for society, the anime is way to gentle with him and I couldn't see any fun of watching an adult doing his harassement and mind control on a college girl . there is a word for this kind of mental profil : narcissistic pervert manipulator . they use a mix of kindness and harassement and after a time the victim start to think she is the one who had a bad attitude and is guilty, she had confuse feeling and take fear feeling for Love and the top : when the manipulator start to take distance and his pray, she came back to him and told him, this is her choice, she is the only one who can decide etc etc etc ... it's like a sect member , totally brained washed .
So It's a strong "1" because it's not at all a comedy or romance anime at all and after ep 4, I only wish and hope she will run away from the MC ...
If they made a season 2 , it will be an anime about a little girl who get beaten and treat like shit by an abusive manipulator ...
