Both have a similar vibe and atmosphere. Great soundtracks, different perspectives from different characters, and the past is unravelled for each show as they go on.

It's hard to say why they are so similar without spoiling either one, so I'd simply suggest if you've seen/are watching one, you should watch the other.

Contrasting ideas. Opposites. People with different views using tricks of the mind to try to out-smart eachother, with elements of supernatural in the background. And trust me, in both series, many and horrible deaths occur. A definite comparison.

The character design is slightly similar, soundtrack, and the plot elements are too, without delving into spoilers. A good side which may be the bad side, conspiracies, and a bright detective with a past in the middle of everything. Without spoiling much, both detective's pasts are very similar, and they make very similar choices with who they co-erce with...

Both shows appear and can be labelled as 'cliche' school-set rom-coms (emphasis on 'can') where the MC smarter than the regular MC. However, Masamune is about the popular students while Oregairu is about the not-popular students. Also, traps.

Both are by the same light novel author, Watari Watanabe, and put darker and realistic spins on the teenage romcom genre and the anime industry respectively. Hikki and Chitose both share a fair few character traits, and a brother-sister-like relationship are in both.

The main character is very similar to Lelouch in the fact he is manipulative, has to go under a fake alias, wants to work out who exactly killed/injured his family, especially his younger sibling, and almost everything he plans goes exactly to plan. Both are geniuses, and the Mafia families are almost as ruthless as the Brittanian royal family. A definite watch.

Both revolve around the idea of diaries and the future; in Orange the MC keeps a diary which she uses to know the mistakes she made to tell her past self. In Mirai Nikki, the MC(s) use diaries that tell them of the future. Both revolve around this but present the idea in different ways; I'd recommend watching both!
