Kimi ni Todoke, one of the most famous shojos lately. I don't understand the cause of the high score on this, but let's go to what matters.
Kuronuma Sawako, a student with a sweet and adorable look... not for her classmates. She gained the nickname Sadako (from the cursed girl of the "The Ring" movies) thanks to the way everyone sees her, besides her antisocial style and the difficulty of making friends. Only until she mets Kazehaya (her big romance partner of the show), Ryuu (Kazehaya's friend) and her new friends, Ayane and Chizuru. They then try to show everyone the real Sawako: sweet and shy.
The
...
art is great, the color choice is good and that makes it nice to watch. Perfect for a shojo/school comedy (the OP and ED are extremely beautiful). What to say about the sound... the voices are great and all of them fits perfectly in their respectives characters, as expected of the nice dub make it by the japanese.
Some characters are side-shows, like Sawako, Ayane and Chizuru, the powerful trio that steals the scene. The various situations they go through are real funny, like trying to "fix" Sawako or even interacting with all the supporting characters, the three girls are the strong point of the show.
If you want a romance anime, I recommend looking for another one, but if you want a SAPPY romance anime + school comedy, you can try Kimi ni Todoke. Don't expect a single kiss here and even less an end, since Kimi ni Todoke don't have it, just like a lot of animes that continues on the manga version.
Kimi ni Todoke is a good show to start if you want to follow with the manga after, but if you don't, it is not. If you don't have the patience, just start with the manga and simply skip the anime like if it doesn't even exist.

As a big fan of zombie stories, I started to read Highschool of the Dead the very moment I heard about it. As a normal zombie story, HotD throws you at the middle of action right in the first pages of the manga, and never stop that atmosphere of adrenaline, horror, survival, etc, like the old Resident Evil series.
The disease is showed right where it begin spreading, on a highschool, starting the story of Takashi Komuro, a student who's trying to survive with a few friends from the same school. While they try to escape, it starts to get harder to survive, all the conflicts,
...
situations, finding survivors, exactly like a good zombie story.
The art can be a bit strange at the beginning but you'll get used to it. One thing that I didn't like it is the ecchi scenes. And there's a lot of it. Get used to see plenty of ecchi + fanservice (I bet it's an up point for many, but I'm not a big fan).
And touching the ecchi subject comes the characters. "They're nothing outstanding, just normal", you'll might think in the first chapters, but sooner or later you'll identify yourself with one of them, as they develop themselves pretty good in the various situations that happens on the story.
As said before, if you like action, horror, survival, liked to play the old Resident Evil series in the dark (or was too scared to be in the dark) just to increase the experience and it's in doubt of HotD, give it a chance, it's very loyal to all zombies famous stories you have heard about and it's great for a quick read.

Imagine a group of human-like "aliens" trying to take over a city: an arrogant and strange boss, a woman that dies all the time and the main character who can't stop talking the entire show. No, even now you don't the tiny idea what is Excel Saga.
The "plot" is entirely random, just like every episode. You'll see Excel trying to take over the city for Ilpalazzo with Hyatt, with non-stop parody and comedy and failing all the time (or just forgetting about her objective in the middle), and some side-stories episodes about Pedro (a depressive guy who's always passing by tough situations), Menchi (a dog
...
that Excel uses as "food supply", in case of running out of food) and many others as crazy as Excel (okay, not so much).
The art is very good... for a parody anime. A lot of colors, abstract and crazy art, many times even making parodies based on traces, like USA cartoons traces (sometimes not only the traces).
Comparing the sound, it can be very funny and give many laughs, as can be annoying. Every scene that contais Excel, you will hear her voice over and over, and faster everytime by the way. So, you can like Excel or hate her, only one of those.
We have a great variation of characters here. All the types, and one (or more) will catch your attention. Besides Excel and the others listed, we have a group of young workers who attend the city, helping with little "crimes", the Great Will that is... hard to explain, but will guarantee a lot of laughs too, Nabeshin and even the author himself.
If you're looking for a comedy/parody, or even if not, but want to laugh hard, watch Excel Saga. It's a show that is far from getting boring, has many known parodies and many times it makes parodies with itself, and it's random, as it can be watched and rewatched anytime. So don't expect a plot or nothing serious here, it's all a big joke, in a great way.
