Han Hua Ri Ji provides unique slapstick comedy, with many of the jokes I have never once seen explored in this way in anime for how 'everyday life' its humour is focused on. It's a beautiful hidden gem to behold. The first episode was absolutely hilarious that I'm genuinely considering to re-watch the show soon so that I can re-experience all of it again. The ten-second scene after the credits really sealed the deal for me with the mood of that episode, and I slapped a 9 on the score right then and there.
The main character, Ting, is incredibly realistic, a lot of anime fans
...
would be able to relate to her. The other side characters primarily by her side is a cat, Diqui and her mobile phone, TianJi that interrupt her days by becoming a part of her life as gods and monsters, and I can't really explain further without giving some of the early jokes away. There are many anime and non-anime references throughout that add to that entertainment. A few obscure advertisements to other donghua are also implemented in the show.
I really enjoy the catchy credits song with a paper cutout of the protagonist in real life. It really adds to the feel of the show.
The first half is funnier than the latter, in my opinion, but both halves are still truly great and the final episode was hilarious yet also melancholic. A few extra scenes are at the end of the episodes so I would suggest checking them out.

"All humans do love beautiful things, even if they're terrifying."
ID:Invaded is a surreal-esque Sci-Fi show involving a protagonist identified as Sakaido, once a criminal himself, who ventures into the unconscious mind of serial killers, trying to find out the mystery behind the victim's deaths and the criminal's crimes.
Koharu is an incredibly intelligent, bold detective that helps with the crimes on the sidelines. She is simply amazing at decoding mysteries and vital to the show's progression.
Sakaido provides us with information about what even the culprit does not know about themself and proceeds to do so unconsciously, with each time providing an entirely different look at the
...
crime to discover the killer's drive to kill. Using what is known as the Mizuhanome system, it sends him to the unconscious mind of the killer, their ID Well, inserting hints about the crimes around every corner of the show as if we were to observe the crime from the beginning, yet having to figure what everything indicated states. In a sense, it reminds me of AI: The Somnium Files, and in fact, I'd say that it's even better.
The symbolism is too intricate for the vast majority of people to understand in the ID Wells, and you would never know the truth through foresight. To uncover the mystery, one would have to look at every little corner of detail that the Mizuhanome system shows us, and then work out what each visible object signifies. With a thrilling mystery to go beside it, that alone is complicated.
However, there are other complications, such as getting kissing mixed up with killing upon impulse. That was just the explanation for a killer, which I found somewhat nonsensical; oh, wait, that gets elucidated. So. Freaking. Much. I do adore it when questions get answered, but in this depth, plus myself being able to be on the same wavelength as Koharu to understand fully where the ending is going... wow. Episode 5 is an awestruck favourite to keep. SO much was built around one little factor.
The show has a beautifully fascinating concept, and I'm a definite fan of the story, the protagonist and the events that occur around it.
Want good music? Then right back at ya! Miyavi, best-boy guitarist, has helped with the show and its soundtrack, providing an entertaining yet unique show with beautiful tracks, including everyone's newfound interest in "Other Side", which became ID's ending song, and the insert songs "Samurai 45" and "Butterfly": all from his newest album.
The visuals in the opening and the ending, especially the OP, is geometric and artistic, which probably has already made me love the soundtrack that little bit more. The OP is probably one of my favourite openings because of those visuals.
But seriously: a utaite that I love and a guitarist/songwriter/actor etc. that I admire is another productive cluster that I enjoy to hear together under one shared roof.
The whole soundtrack is super fascinating and makes me want to cry in such a positive way.
If you want a very intricate yet surreal mystery that you definitely won't figure out until the end, yet also answers every question you have of the mystery throughout the story, then I suggest watching this show, without a doubt!
It's a show heavily focused around the puzzles that make you question the mystery itself, rather than the solution. There's more than just the importance of the ending, much more.

Yes. We live in a society that seems to dislike anthropomorphic animals: to like a show such as this, you would need to be a furry. But how far from the truth is that? I was instead captivated by the cover; not for the animals, but for how unique and original it felt. We do not usually judge a book by its cover; for me, however, I could recognise a good show from a mile away, so this was the one I picked out. I scarcely watch seasonals, too, so I'm surprised how I stumbled across it and decided to watch it. I never regretted
...
a thing. Maybe the other definition of judging by its cover would be the fact that it's a bunch of furries, amiright? Because if that's the situation... then wow. You have furries, CGI, and furry fetishes in this anime, so could it get even more negatively perceived by such a community?
To be-all and end-all, Beastars is one of the most real and encapturing series by far and is absolutely a great edition to finish the year.
Legosi's character is so defined, dynamic and rounded that I adore him immensely. Most of the time, he's very conscious of himself. He would not make dumb decisions that others would tempt into, but in actuality freaks out in the situation and runs away. As radical as others may see that, it's the main factor why I love him so much.
He grows ever-so nearer to Haru throughout the series and begins to understand his true feelings for her, with a lot of the anime stepping into more adult sides of the story. Most of it is left open, so I hope that season 2 can fill in the gaps.
Body language also plays a significant factor in the story, with his eyes, hands, and tail playing their major parts expressing how he feels. THAT is what makes him feel real. Most anime characters are just bland in their body language, and there is barely any sign of it at all. So, to observe how a character tenses up really hits the spot with me. CGI was never an issue with myself as I could cope with mediocre quality art. However, the CGI definitely isn't poor quality, and in actuality, it shows just how easier it is to make a character behave through a 3D model.
The opening is a gift. Many people would come across the show because of the music or the high, well-deserved rating it's receiving recently; that shouldn't shine over the actual fact that the show has been produced so well.
Thank you, Orange

This anime deserves more than it's worth, however, it was let down by how random it was. Otome games are very rare for me to enjoy, too.
To get the point across: this is a skit, a parody. It's supposed to be senseless and wacky and I have no idea why it isn't tagged as such. Those kinds of shows are supposed to do that.
Even with this lack of story that people are so calling it out to be, there actually is more plot than there is in Teekyuu; that's saying something considering it has a multitude of sequels and that the show is heavily rushed
...
and fast-paced and acts like it's on drugs. Ozmafia, however, actually does the plot decent enough for its type of anime, yet still falls behind with the rest.
Never compare this to psychological, even general comedy anime, because of course, it looks terrible compared to that. Judge it as a short parody and you'll actually understand that the show isn't that mediocre as so many people are saying from these ratings.
It's a weird way to introduce characters for 3 minutes, but that small ending screen is pretty nice. There's also extra content after the credits.
4 is a stable score where it should belong and the anime doesn't work well when watching all of the episodes together, so I'd suggest giving a break per episode if you want to try and enjoy it. If you want a good anime of this similarity, definitely watch Senyuu instead.

Imagine an anime just like the premise of Persona 5 by altering desires, but instead of stealing people's hearts you steal people's anal virginity.
And if that doesn't sound weird enough to you, then I guess you'd enjoy it.
This is some borderline-hentai super gay fanservice right here involving magical frog shotas, especially in the first few episodes, and I had no clue whether to like it or not at the beginning. It's definitely not everyone's cup of tea, but as I continued to watch the anime it gladly went somewhere, yet it was still so mediocre.
Just so people know, I've seen a couple of episodes of
...
Penguindrum and never once did it step into something as risky and... weird... as this. No. That's not a good thing. Honestly, how childish and unaware are people?
Hypothesising from the first cover I thought that it'd be about adventures and summer; maybe even a surfing anime or something along those lines. Oh, and also, it's a musical now. Even if I somewhat thought that it would be beforehand. I can give it credit for that cop song though, it's really catchy even if it is immensely repetitive and I wholeheartedly respect the ED.
However, the symbolism is so obscure in certain areas that it seems really out of context, and even then the theory itself that people are saying doesn't really make that much sense, and this is coming from a person who has experienced those things. Most of the “symbolism” if you want to somehow call it that as it's your only way to defend this garbage, in some areas completely makes no sense. Otter symbolism? I thought they were supposed to be good? Or maybe the anime just showed that in such a poor way that I never understood? Honestly, if symbolism is your only excuse to like this anime then be off because there's much more that's better to it than the minor symbolism that everyone's looking too deep into. Yes, symbolism is effective and all and I understand it, but it's extremely minor and unique ≠ good. If anything, I actually preferred the earlier episodes.
The “leak” part of the episodes are great, and so are the three main characters with quite some good storytelling with them that's enough to make me rate this an 8 or so, however it severely lacks with its repetitiveness. Practically. Every. Single. Episode. That lasts for half of every episode going over the same thing and singing the exact same songs to the point that all of the great and entertaining just becomes irritating and obnoxious. Also, the animation is barely an issue, so commenting on how good it is will not affect my score. The only time I'd consider animation to be worthy would be through aesthetics used. And yeah, the animation is really pretty, but you could say that for most of MAPPA's work, not just Sarazanmai itself.
Some of the people's desires, if I were to even call them that, are so random that they're not even entertaining. I'm just like “what...?” One episode involved some masochistic guy who wanted to be a football and get kicked by his girlfriend, and that all begun because he took their football... Excuse me? No extra depth? No backstory to those random characters? Random waste of time by constant repetitiveness? Welcome to Sarazanmai, kero.
Sarazanmai has just become a generic comedy slice of life musical with yaoi frogs. Then you have an actual story beginning to develop two thirds into the anime? Don't look into it deeper. Really. That's not a pun or anything, I'm saving your skin so you don't have to appreciate absurd garbage and follow a bandwagon.
You think it's good because of the characters and whatever their “backstory” is? Just go and watch something else, where it does it a whole lot better than Sarazanmai. The story seems to give and never take, showing us a few things just because of the same scene. Constantly. Listen; if you want to express meaning through the same exact scene, then at least let us get to know more about every character beforehand and express emotion instead of looking cliché and done in a “different” way because never does that ever occur.
Almost everyone loved episode 11, but for me, it barely made sense, and not because I didn't understand it. One of the cops wanted a hope plate too, and they fought over it with a bit of screaming on both sides. Eh, that's about it. No need to overreact to the same thing that happens in every episode, but now it has a bad villain so eh! Aw no, I'm totally crying! This character that had no development just had a whole episode based on them to minorly shift their development upwards a bit. That makes sense and sounds entertaining, right? Well, even that is rare. Symbolism? Please, it would be trashy either way. I've forgotten most of the characters and I saw that episode only 2 days ago. That's how minor and irrelevant the side characters are.
Consider it as an alternate version of fanservice.
Overall, I do respect this anime a whole lot and it has somewhat begun to improve in certain areas, but its other areas and its severe repetitiveness are obnoxious as hell. I can't forgive that. And budgeting definitely wasn't an issue. With its good art, that's their own fault. I'm positively sure that it was intended to be repetitive as hell in the first place.
TLDR: Just because something's unique or is “symbolic” doesn't mean you should accept mediocrity and constantly reused scenes.

The anime went in the right direction for character development, then completely scratched it.
There were many things that felt overused and dried the anime out such as Takajou over-obsessing and fawning over Misa, and I actually really used to like his character at first. A lot of the comic scenes were repeated too often for my liking. I'm also not a fan of the main character finding a lover in anime that isn't listed under the romance genre, because they most likely always give some random reason for a character to have feelings for the main character to the point that it just doesn't work
...
and appears dull and unreasonable, and sadly a lot of anime do that. Examples being Owari no Seraph, Noragami, and Boku no Hero Academia. I'm just not a fan of forced relationships that don't develop naturally like how love should develop. It shouldn't be just some random crush out of nowhere, however, I'll let Charlotte slide because it was the ending. I still didn't see that much bonding between the two of them and her persona wasn't anything special.
The abilities that people have aren't all that creative, however, their side effects can be, and it's nice to see characters having weaknesses and how differently they use them. That didn't fail. Yuu's "hidden" ability is immensely overpowered and in the final episode they didn't leave out any good use of abilities in the world, which was lovely yet melancholic to see.
The many plot twists worked perfectly and the backstories and deaths were deeply depressing. The anime executed the time travel quite efficiently, and time travel is an easy thing to mess up. A few times, the time travel scenes didn't mention that much, while others mentioned a load. It all really depended on how much you looked into the gaps between what they repeated and what they didn't.
The anime made a drastic change to Yuu's character in episode 7, but for some reason, they decided to discontinue it like it never happened. The comet was also mentioned once and never mentioned again and the English voice acting in the sub was sub-par. The Engrish being spoken by Yuu and others was hilariously adorable though.
Yuu appears to be quite sadistic. Very sadistic. Hella sadistic, and I like it. He still feels human but that little twist of insanity that continues all the way from start to end, switching on and off, is something that I'm definitely a fan of.
The ending was... alright. Although after having him wanted by the whole world with them all trying to kill him, they never mentioned what stopped them from attacking him anymore. Everything just became normal. And what about the vaccines that they mentioned? Who did that?
Overall, it's not the best of anime out there, but it most certainly isn't the worst. With slight improvement, the anime would've been amazing.

Have you ever wanted to post your child through the mail? xD
For an anime that I never thought I'd enjoy as much as I did, Tegami Bachi is a heartwarming yet sorrowful adventure anime that plays with your heart whenever it possibly can. Lag, being the 7-year-old that he was at the start of the anime, was absolutely adorable. I could repeat myself because it's the most adorable thing you could ever get. He's so pure of heart that I wish kids, in reality, could be like that too.
Story 10/10
The first episode starts where Gauche, a Letter Bee, brings Lag back to his aunt after
...
the despair of his mother's disappearance. At first, the two didn't get along and Lag started to gain hatred towards Gauche due to his foul-tasting meals and not thinking of him as a person and just a letter to be delivered, but then after Gauche saving his life and thinking of him as a friend, Lag becomes inspired along Gauche's footsteps to become a Letter Bee himself. Tegami Bachi is the epitome of the journey mattering more than the destination, and we have to judge it that way.
I love the idea and symbolism where shindans are made from the heart and that other people are able to see what's inside of something's heart after one is used, whether it be a letter, object, or person. It's a very unique way of explaining character's pasts without anyone having to mention it. It has some wonderful world building. The story never shifts anywhere else and only sticks to the symbolism of hearts, so basically, after a few episodes everything is repeated, but they way they do it is unique and creative as they meet new people and learn about their hearts and motives. It makes you feel warm inside... and sometimes upset. So many creative and unique things happen around the work of a Letter Bee and I love how each character is meant to be misinterpreted to the watcher, only to notice what they felt in their heart. The ending of the anime is so depressing at its best and the mysteries that we discovered throughout the anime really built up to that well.
Art 9/10
It's a very pretty anime, and no, I'm not just talking about the art, I'm talking about the atmosphere.
The anime comes off as very calming, especially with the blue and white colours that compliment each other. I'm always a fan of that. There's almost no anger or fear in the anime, and when that happens it normally would end with something soothing and beautiful anyway such as the snowflakes.
Lag basically looks like a younger version of Gauche. At first, I thought that it'd be confusing to tell the difference between them, but it's actually there for a reason. Lag is basically 'replacing' Gauche in the story as he's walking in Gauche's steps, and then alongside everything else mentioned in the anime... it's beautiful.
Sound 9/10
The anime has a really beautiful soundtrack. All of the OST is relaxing and soothing and completely matches up with the anime. It makes everything feel much warmer and endearing. I'm not really a fan of ballads, but the second opening and the endings are absolutely beautiful. It makes there feel like a sense of brilliant friendship between everyone and an adventure, whilst being calming.
Character 10/10
They portrayed the characters well, making even the side characters have very beautiful meanings to melt at your heart.
Lag acts like a child would which is a good sign as some children in anime don't even act like children. Lag stays almost exactly the same after 5 years pass, only really just maturing. He still stays his pure, emotional and caring self throughout the anime that needs viewer protection and literally carries people much older than him to safety. We really need people as sweet as Lag in real life. I need him as a friend. Every time Lag cries, my heart can't take it and I end up crying too, and that's like every episode. I don't hate his character one bit, in fact, it's my favourite.
The same happens with Gauche, and every memory about him develops his character so great that it's captivating. The backstory that we discover in sections is what I love about character building instead of it all being told to us in one huge section. There's more than just one episode or character for its main purpose to develop Gauche's character, and with the shindan idea, it just makes everything feel acceptable and unique.
As for Niche, she's expected to be a tsundere, but there's a perfect balance and she doesn't seem cliche in any way. She's strong-willed but inexperienced when it comes to basic tasks, and the show doesn't make it seem patronising when she is as she's only a child, only making her a well-developed character that puts her faith and trust in Lag. Steak and her are a weird duo, but it's adorably frightening nonetheless.
Exclude Lag and I'd probably say that Zazie is my favourite; his tough but kind persona is amazing and his backstory is the most upsetting in my opinion for whatever reason. Even though it's not the most developed, the thing mentioning him making soup gave a lot of caring meaning to his character. The whole premise of the story is extremely deep and upsetting.
Enjoyment 10/10
Tegami Bachi is a story about a young boy that delivers hearts. I'm so grateful that there are 25 episodes for this first season. At first I never really took interest for the first two episodes even though I loved certain parts of them to pieces, and I was going to rate it an 8 or 9 until I realised that the anime was more beautiful and creative than I thought it was. Around 1/4 into the first season, I absolutely loved it, giving me hope for what the next 3/4 of the anime would be, and it sure did not disappoint me the slightest. The anime improves the further you watch it, and its unique memorable story will be put in a special place in my heart.

After watching this anime, I can surely say that it is by far one of my favourites yet. This is one of the very few that I've enjoyed almost every, if not every single episode to the point that I had to absolutely binge it. I kept on putting myself off of the anime as I've been wanting to watch it for about a year or so, and I don't regret watching it at all... I kind of regret waiting this long, aha. Ironically, the reason that I decided to finally watch it was because I was looking for new inspiration to glisten up my
...
account, and straight after the first episode, I loved it to pieces.
Story: 8/10
While the story may be confusing for some, I do admit that it can be, but to be fair, you have to have a very high- *coughs*
...sorry.
As confusing as the story may be, the depth that the anime goes into basically blinds the confusion and treats the manga well.
In the first minute of the first episode, you'll already question what you just discovered, but it'll sure get you hooked once you realise what happens.
The amount of depth that gets put into characters to develop their own or others' persona is quite unique, and it always has a way to make it feel fresh and new: to make you feel happy or sad.
The plot can simply be put into 5 words: Nai wants to find Karoku. But of course, it's much more complicated than that. Throughout the anime, new characters get introduced to develop mixed emotions towards the watcher and help the characters to grow in the present and to help us understand their past.
Art: 10/10
I'm not really that appealed into art styles as I focus on everything else and my own personal enjoyment, but there are always some things that make me cherish that specific art style. Detail.
By detail, I mean what makes the character look unique: accessories, outfits, hairstyle, body language... and the eyes.
Eyes are the main factor when it comes to anime because of the emotions expressed through them and how diverse they can be. For example, I love Ciel's dark blue eyes due to how perfectly shaped they are with those appealing bottom eyelashes; Karneval is no exception. The mixture of colours used with the eyes is mesmerising.
The outfits are absolutely beautiful and creative to the point that the outfits themselves serve as a substitute for the entire meals in Food Wars. I'm not even kidding. The outfits, especially Nai's, give me the same satisfaction of wanting to wear them. They are so diverse and are colour-coded absolutely perfectly, alongside the similarity of the eye and hair colour of many characters such as Karoku and Yogi to compliment the designs even further.
Sound: 9/10
To begin with, the mandala in the OP is beautiful and so are the rectangular lights that scatter across the screen behind the pretty animated characters. I really like how the song is rock as I'm quite a fan of that. It's a really catchy song once you've listened to it a couple of times. Plus, it's Granrodeo so what's not to love?
The ED is so colourful and bright that it sometimes doesn't even match with the ending of a few episodes, but regardless the song is calming and mesmeric.
Character: 9/10
I was very meticulous when it came to the characters, and they sure did something perfectly. Each character feels human, even the side characters that only get mentioned for a couple of episodes develop some sort of backstory for the main characters and bring sympathy to us watchers, such as the two twins developing Gareki's backstory even further. The small hints of Nai's abilities and persona really bring him out as a character that actually acts how they actually are to the point that it's smart yet absolutely adorable. With each character having some form of social weakness and a unique personality, plus the backstory of the characters and their reasoning, you could really make them feel special.
Enjoyment: 10/10
With some subtle areas of comedy and pureness, I just couldn't resist Nai. In every episode, I'd laugh at even the most minor things just because of how certain people reacted, such as Gareki talking all unenthusiastically in bright moments. And not to forget how cute Nai looks, I mean, just look at him.
I absolutely loved the plot, characters, and ideas. Almost everything unanswered was eventually answered throughout the anime. Every episode was a rollercoaster whether it be of joy, melancholy, or pure excitement.
The only thing that disappointed me was the cliffhanger at the end with the Karoku theory, but I swear that must continue with a sequel.
Since the manga is still ongoing I'll read that while hoping for a second season. I'd rewatch it anytime without a doubt.
Overall: 8/10
