So to start my review off I would like to mention that this anime holds a special place for me since I grew up with it, but I must say that for such a simple premise of a bunch of kids who really want to play soccer this anime does a great job of building an outstandingly well developed story and cast of characters.
Firstly, I would like to take a look at the beginning of the show (season 1) I believe this beginning part of the show has a few moments which simply gave me

the chills (when Axel came on the field; when Mark succeeds in using Majin the hand etc.) Another thing which I must mention is how well the main cast of characters is outlined with all their unique personalities and features and I remember being very excited every time a brand new opponent appeared and how they always managed to overcome them it was simply wonderful.
Secondly, I want to talk about season 2 the alien one, whilst I thought that the continuous appearance of new alien teams was getting a bit annoying the new characters were really interesting and evened out the repetitive characters of the alien teams. I also liked the way the team kept on progressing so that they could defeat all the aliens it was really fun to watch.
Lastly, I want to talk about the third and final season, this season adds the most interesting characters yet and it manages to bring all these new teams and rivals into the story aswell as the new teammates are also an interesting addition along with the new coach this season’s cast is definitely the most fun to watch and the most diverse with all that said this season also manages to give a satisfying ending to this relatively long story which has been built up throughout all these three seasons with the team winning the world championship and then giving us that emotional ending with “one last game” after their graduation this made for one of the best endings for me personally.
All these reasons make this show a 10/10 for me with one of the best stories in sports anime history.
