I'm just gonna run through the individual categories real quick, and then give my actual thoughts on the movie.
Art, 9: We got a lot of good animation, and not just in terms of action scenes. I loved the goblin army, and how over the top their animation was when just talking. Or when Kazuma is raging at Sylvia over interrupting him and Megumin. And the action scenes were very nice.
Sound, 8: The music added a lot in terms of overall atmosphere, I think the score definitely made this a more enjoyable experience. Voice acting, as usual, konosuba is a treat to hear in both dub

Demon Slayer is good. People who like demon slayer are not good because they gave this show nearly a nine out of fucking ten on here and it is not that good. Like I said though, it is good, it's just not 9/10 good. This review is gonna have two parts, one is an actual review of the show, and the other is a critic of people that review shows.
Part 1, my actual review. Story: Tanjiro is a good upstanding kid, who is very nice. He finds out demons are real when they kill his whole family. Miraculously, his sister survives, but she has become a ... demon. Normally demons can't resist killing and eating humans, but Nezuko is different, she can resist her urges. Tanjiro enters the demon slayer corps so he can protect himself and his sister as he investigates demons for a possible cure for her. Wanting to return your sister to normal is a little more thoughtful than most shonen motivations, like wanting to be a big stwong myan who can beat up da bad guys :3 So it's not fucking awful, but just because it's not terrible doesn't mean it's amazing. It's just good ok. It's not like some fullmetal alchemist or berserk level shit, but it's definitely a solid motivation. I like the demon slayer corps. Most of the time, the worst thing in shonen, or in any franchise, is when the main character must join an organization of people with powers as soon as he gets powers. MHA for example, I really fucking hate UA high, and in Harry Potter, hogwarts is fucking trash. But that's a different plate of cookies for a different glass of milk. In demon slayer it's not that bad, it's actually kinda cool. I feel like Tanjiro still has a lot of freedom and doesn't have to deal with asshole 2-bit upper ranks that much. Tanjiro has some hidden backstory that hasn't been fully explained in the anime yet, that has to deal with muzan and the one dude that almost beat him and the earrings and the sun dance shit. I've read the manga so I know more about it. I won't spoil it, but don't worry it's not a gay bitch backstory like "Ah yes we are the really strong guys and are tanjiro's ancestors which means he is actually one of the really strong guys". So once again, demon slayer thankfully avoids being cliche trash, but what the actual plot is isn't that good either. Like it's not bad, but it's just kind of boring once you find out what it is. Now in terms of plot progression, demon slayer is really just about killing a bunch of demons as you find them, until there are no other demons but muzan, and then kill muzan. This is a problem because Tanjiro basically hands off the main plot, which is curing nezuko, to a different character and leaving her with it for the entire story while he goes off and fights demons, until she eventually figures it out. Now I know that fighting the demons helps her with her research because she needs muzan's blood, but that's a really inactive role tanjiro plays, because he's just collecting blood, but we're not actually learning anything, like why she need's muzan's blood for this when she already has it, or why she needs so much of it, or what she's actually doing with it, or how it cures nezuko, or literally anything about demon biology at all, which kinda sucks because I wanted to know that. I probably made it sound worse than it actually is, but it is kinda gay when you think about it. Art: This is probably gonna be the most controversial part of this review because all of you dickheads think this show has the best animation on planet earth, but it doesn't. It doesn't even have the best animation of this year. I'm gonna cut the bullshit and just talk about episode 19 right now. I was reading the demon slayer manga, pretty far into it, when all this commotion starts about the new anime. I wasn't going to watch the anime at first, but all the big talk about ep 19 convinced me. I wanted to see if it was really that fucking good. And uh.... it wasn't. So the really apeshit kickass animation starts when tanjiro activates the fire sword shit, and then nezuko uses the burning blood on it and they have the explosion decapitation shit on the spider dude. That's the big hype animation moment. And yeah its p good, I'll give it mini round of applause and shit. But in terms of pure spectacle, it really pales in comparison to other fights. Saitama vs Boros i think still remains the most well animated fight scene ever, it is unmatched in terms of pure spectacle. Now you could argue that maybe it's the emotional moments that complimented the fight that made it so good, this part is supposed to be about art but I'll go on a side tangent just for you :kissy face: Todoroki vs Deku in MHA s2 was more emotional, and had better animation, and so was All Might vs All for one in s3, and I don't even like that show. "Oh but that didn't come out this year bleehhh!" you know what did come out this year? Mob psycho 100 s2. Yeah that's right you fuckers, I bet you forgot about that one. MP100 is honestly so good that every other show this year needs to be moved down one full point out of respect. Mob psycho 100 had much better animation than demon slayer, and more than one time too. Almost every major fight I think was animated better. Mob psycho 100 s2 was a massive animation project, and used almost no computer graphics. demon slayer uses a shit load of computer graphics, you just can't tell because you're a baby. But almost all the effects in this show (fire, water, lightning, smoke, etc) is cg. That's right, even the fire on tanjiro's sword in ep 19 is cg. It's a really good cg, but it's still cg, you can thank demon slayer for being the next big step forward in cg anime, and that's it. Cg is kind of killing traditional art which I really respect so this miffs me a bit. Ok now that that's out of the way I can talk about the rest of the art. The animation is VERY consistent, which means it doesn't have those clearly low budget moments where everything looks like nuclear anus. That's pretty good, and I'm really happy about that because Dr. Stone's animation is about to fucking kill me with how bad it is (dr stone manga is actually really good in terms of art though). So yeah most of the points I'm giving it for art is coming from just that. The animation is NEVER bad in this show, and I'm grateful for that. Character design is amazing in this show, background work is really good too. The wisteria is beautiful and I love it. I'm tired of talking about art so I'm moving on. Sound: Decent ost, baller opening theme Character: The first thing I noticed about demon slayer is that there's no dumbass bitch characters in this show. Oh shit now I actually kind of feel bad that I said that because there is one really fucking awful character in this show that I forgot about. And it's nezuko. I am not afraid to do this. Nezuko is bad. I want to slap all of you who are mad right now in the face and scream at you that she's bad. I won't go as far as to say nezuko has no character, because she does have character, it's just not much. I will fucking slap your shit if I catch you liking this character just because she looks cute. Look beyond the cute exterior and see the barren shell within her, devoid of what a good character should have. Nezuko can't even fucking talk, has no opinions, and barely get's any screentime. She is static, which isn't inherently bad, but it's just annoying in her case because everyone likes her when there's nothing likeable about her beyond the fact that she's a dumb baby. Whew. Besides that there are only good characters. Oh fuck. Oh shit. I just remembered. This is actually really funny because this bit isn't even scripted I just actually forgot that muzan existed. Muzan sucks monkey ass. He's evil because he's evil and he wants to live forever and that's his only goal. His personality is that he's evil. His powers are kinda lame in a show where a set of fucking bongos can be used as a lethal weapon. I really hate the way he's characterized. There's one scene where he kills one of his own guys, which shows that he's evil because he killed a guy on his side, which means he'll definitely kill a guy that's not on his side. I hate villains that teamkill, because they usually do it because one of their goons was annoying or disappointed them. Like, if you're waging war on humanity and they're starting to win, it's not a good idea to start killing your own forces out of frustration, because that's only helping the good guys win. Muzan is kinda retarded because he does this all the time and has no redeeming villain qualities to make up for it. Ok now for the good characters, for real this time. Tanjiro, inosuke, and zenitsu are fucking great. The thing that makes them so good is that they're all idiots but none of them realize it. There is no voice of reason in their group, which is amazing because that allows all the wacky chaos to ensue during downtime between fights. Tanjiro is way too nice, and assumes the best out of all people. This is funny because he often times won't even realize someone hates him because he's just such a good guy. I'm getting tired of snarky protagonists, and tanjiro isn't snarky at all, he's a total bro that I would hang out with in real life. Inosuke, aka funny pig man, is one of my favs. His character is a little shallow, though, as he is too simple minded to have actual emotional conundrums. Inosuke is good because he's like the badder one of the group. Every shonen good guy protagonist has to have a not as good guy sidekick (vegeta, sasuke, killua kind of, bakugo who is the actual worst character of all time) inosuke is like that, except he's not edgy at all, so he's great. I never realized how likeable the not as good guy can be until they made him not an edgelord. He's like all the things that were good about bakugo, like being angry and wanting to be the best fighter, without the inferiority complex, shit behavior, and shit backstory. He's also funny and a pig, which makes him funny and a pig. Zenitsu is good because he completes the trifecta of idiocy in the main group. Inosuke and taniro are like opposites, yet zenitsu seems opposite to both of them. This means that each character in the trio has completely different, unique responses to every situation, which means the audience will be able to get attached to and identify with at least one of their view points. Zenitsu is also funny. He's technically the badass character when you think about it. Every show has to have the silent guy who's secretly a badass. Zenitsu is like that, but if instead of being silent he was an absolute pussy but actually the strongest guy ever. So yeah those guys are awesome and I love them. Enjoyement: I enjoyed it. And now for part 2 which no longer exists because it violated the guidelines. It was really interesting and probably would have completely revolutionized the anime industry with how profound it was. What an absolute tragedy.

Part 1 of Jojo gets shit on as the worst part, false. Part 1 lives up to what it is supposed to be, which is more than I can say for part 8 or part 5. I actually like part 1 a lot, and I feel like a lot of people think it's bad because the anime adaptation didn't really do it justice. I'm here to set the record straight on why part 1 isn't so bad, here we go!
The story. The story is very very simple, Dio bad, me get revenge, ooga booga. Yes ladies and gentlemen it's really that simple, but I feel ... like it's because the plot is so simple that this part works, like it isn't overachieving by trying to be something it's not, and in a show like Jojo, I don't always want the plot to be complex, the reason being that the fights are very complex, I love seeing Jojo think his way out of a fight, I want the story to take time to explain how he figures out how to beat his opponents rather than why he wants to beat Dio. Dio is evil and Jonathan is good, and to be honest a simple reason that just works is better than a more complex reason that fails to live up to its own hype. Because the plot is so cut and dry it lets jojo focus on what it does best, which is the intense mindgames and crazy fights. The art, oh baby. Araki as we know him today is an incredible artist, but back then his style was still developing, and Jojo had yet to fully come into its own though. It does show its age but despite that it still sticks out as something different. I know that Araki is actually a big fan of zombie movies and "The Walking Dead", this is clearly evident in part 1 as Araki does his own take on the horror genre. The artistic mood of part 1 is like a classic victorian gothic horror story with vampires, revenge, and tons of weird japanese bullshit. Characters. Speedwagon: The greatest Jojo character of all time, speedwagon alone is enough to secure a 10/10 for part one, but unfortunately that would be unfair, so I can't really rank him Will Zepelli: This guy is actually a really decent jobro and mentor to jonathan, in the manga his backstory was a little more fleshed out than it was in the anime, and it was cool to see his path to learning hamon, and how he's destined to die if he pursues the mask. Despite this Will jumps headfirst into death like an absolute badass because he knows this conflict is more than just himself, in doing so Jonathan is able to finish the job on Dio, Will knew fear and made it his own, that's courage. Jonathan: Constantly shat on as the first Jojo, but what's actually bad about him? I can at least tell what Jonathan's personality type is, and his personality remains unique among the Jojo's, as no one else is really like him. He's a gentleman, and there's some real charm to that, if Jonathan wasn't such a good guy then Dio wouldn't have been as good of a villain. You see Dio and Jonathan are truly bound by fate, they have a dichotomy, and because jonathan is so good and dio is so bad that actually makes them both better characters then they were before. Most of the other Jojo's really weren't that interesting, they seemed to be de emphasized as the main character, jotaro, josuke, giorno, jolyne, and gappy all get shown up by their peers, and it's good to have good side characters, but it feels like the jojo's always get the shit end of the stick when it comes to personality. Jonathan is honestly one of the better jojos out there. Dio. Holy actual shit Dio is so goddamn cool, I love him. He's so deliciously evil in the best way possible, he doesn't really have a super good reason for this, and that's why some people don't like him, but the reason isn't important. You're not thinking about Jojo in the right way, it's all about the style points, don't think about it logically, this isn't where you use logic in Jojo, just love the characters for what they are, if you do then you'll realize that Dio is the embodiment of everything that the Jojo series is. He's smart, weird, beautiful, graceful, flamboyant, crazy, bizarre, gay, powerful, immortal, I mean he's just the best. Enjoyment: It was cool as shit, I mean this manga was chock full of crazy ass shit that just keeps you engaged constantly. Part 1 is truly a marvel of its time, and to truly appreciate it you have to understand some historical context. Anyone who calls part 1 stereotypical and cliche doesn't know shit about shit, because this was so extraordinarily revolutionary for manga than no one has ever attempted this besides araki. Araki broke just about every rule in the book when he made part 1, and he got a lot of shit for it, but look at it now, all of that paid off in the end. You weren't supposed to have a non japanese protagonist, or non japanese characters, or a non japanese setting, Araki changed all of that, Araki killed Jonathan. Killing your protagonist was the kind of shit that would get your manga cancelled, Araki took big risks, and it paid off. Part 1 is amazing, just amazing.

HUGE SPOILERS AHEAD, DO NOT READ UNTIL YOU HAVE FINISHED THE MANGA
I love Jojo, This series is seriously fucking awesome, but to me, part 5 was a bit of a let down. I think I should start with the characters, every character in part 5 is good... except for the two characters that matter the most, the protagonist and antagonist. Giorno and Diavolo are weak as hell. I feel like a big problem with these two is that they have too many character points that don't actually matter. Giorno is DIO's son, but when is that ever important? When is it ever relevant who ... Giorno's father is? It seems that DIO having a son was just an excuse to make Giorno a part of the joestar family, it seems like a really big waste to me, the son of DIO should be a really big deal considering who DIO is, but it's never a big deal, it's very disappointing, Giorno never even finds out who DIO actually is or who the Joestars are. Giorno never really does anything important, Mista and Buccelatti seem to carry most of the weight, and then Giorno just swoops in to steal the win at the end, and then everyone is all like "Hey this Giorno kid is so cool, maybe he should be the one in charge." to me this just seems like poor writing, it never really felt like Giorno earned any of his accomplishments, and his lack of actual character moments makes his character feel practically non existent. Diavolo. Diavolo spends all of part 5 hiding his identity, but when you do that, you start to place plot relevance and emphasis on what his true identity must be. When you make a mystery, you expect there to be a twist, its like watching an episode of scooby doo, you try to guess his identity because you feel like he must be someone you already know, he must be someone important, or at least someone you didn't expect. But Diavolo is non of those things, he's no one, his identity doesn't actually end up mattering, he could have been anyone, he turns out to be some random guy we've never seen before, and that makes what could have been a really interesting twist end up falling flat, and really disappoints me when I think about what Araki could have done instead. Diavolo's backstory doesn't end up mattering because his personality doesn't matter, his personality and backstory never end up being an interesting or relevant plot point. His motivation is to conceal his identity and keep being the boss, but that's just kira but far more poorly executed. Diavolo is an extremely unremarkable and forgettable antagonist. Fugo fucking sucks, he only has one fight and then just leaves. Mista and Narancia are pretty cool, but I don't really have anything to analyze on them. Abbacchio. I actually really like abbacchio, because I related to him a lot, every time he would just shit on Giorno I would be so happy, because I would always agree with him. Giorno sucks. Buccelatti. Ok this guy is fucking rad, he does everything. I mean while Giorno sits on his hands talking about his dumbass dream hoping it will come true, Bruno is out there accomplishing his dream for him. He has the resolve, he has the skills, he has the vision, and he's the one that worked hard to become the boss, not Giorno. So to see Bruno just get killed and have Giorno become the boss instead was really infuriating and completely disappointing, Bruno succeeded where Giorno failed as a protagonist, but in the end Giorno gets all the glory anyway because he's the fucking main character. I won't be analyzing them each individually, but La Squadra was amazing, I mean absolutely incredible, some of the most compelling villains to date, they have really cool dynamics with each other and I was moved by their own quest to overthrow the boss to avenge Gelato and Sorbet, their fallen comrades whom the boss killed. Ok that's all I wanted to say about the characters, lets talk about the plot. So we have this really cool story set up, where we have a small time crook who wants to make it big as a gangster, finally gets his lucky shot at making it all the way to the top as his team seeks to overthrow the mysterious gang boss, but at the same time, a powerful and much more experienced team of gangsters is racing against them to try and kill the boss first, whose reasons for doing so are arguably better than our protagonists. This would ordinarily make for a very good story, and part 5 might have been the best part of jojo ever if Giorno and Diavolo lived up to their expectations. I am disappointed that Risotto, who was a really hyped up villain, ends up getting killed by Doppio instead of by Bruno's gang, I think it would have been a lot more interesting to see Bruno or Giorno fight him instead of Doppio. I hate how the final battle was resolved with a deus ex machina, that being the requiem arrow, its like shit, what was the point of that whole fight if Giorno just magically wins at the end? All of the battles leading up to that were some of the best in the series, and I would argue that every single one of them is better than the final fight. I cannot express how disappointing it is to see so much hype build up to a fight, and to have something so mediocre delivered to me. When you have really good fights, people naturally expect that the next one will be better, or that at least the final battle, which is the most significant one, will be the best, failing to deliver on this is just shameful on araki's part, I really hate to criticize a normally outstanding mangaka like araki so harshly, but part 5 was just so disappointing and Araki knows better. Also the part at the end with rolling stones was just unnecessary and confusing, why would he put that in there? I mean if you're going to include something like rolling stones then don't put it at the end, it would have been a great mini arc to start off with, to foreshadow what will end up happening, but honestly I just wouldn't have put it in there at all. Now the art, which I mean.... fellas, the art is good. And I really mean that, the art is so damn good, easily the best thing about part 5 is araki's art, even though the plot is flimsy at times, araki still knows how to put together a bomb ass manga. The way he constructs panels is simply incredible, there is so much detail in every single one, and the panels always end up being more than the sum of their parts, their packed to the brim with sound effects and spine cracking poses, there's so much depth to each scene, and he portrays breathtaking settings, especially in this part. I can tell that this is araki's love letter to italy, and he deliver's in the art category, when araki went to italy before he ever made jojo he saw the apollo and daphne sculpture and he wanted to portray that in a manga. He succeeded, his poses are so iconic, honestly I cannot praise his art enough. I'm giving this a 6/10 overall, that sounds bad, but even at its worst Jojo is still better than average, a decent read honestly.

Okay let's get the big dog out of the way, let's talk about the plot. Now the way it starts off is rather decent, it's laid out simply as "Angels are attacking and we built these robots to stop them." but within the last episodes becomes a complete and total mind fuck. If I were to commend the story for one thing, it's the pacing. It starts off easy to follow, but as it progresses the tension builds more and more until it's just as hard for you to bear as it is for the characters, and instead of that tension being released in a
...
climactic explosion where it's all let out in the open, Evangelion opts to instead let all that tension crumble into a dark, brain melting chaos. I can't help but commend the execution of this as one of the first anime to attempt this, and the deconstruction of tired mecha anime tropes, instilling new tropes that other dark psychological anime will follow in the future. However I don't think that can redeem the extremely unclear plot of the show, earning it a 4/10. I would recommend watching an explanation video upon completion of this and the movie "End of Evangelion"
Next is the art, recieving a 6/10. The art style itself is very similar to other anime of that era, so Evangelion's art direction is distinguished mostly by the neon high tech looking aesthetic found in works like Akira. I personally am a fan of this art direction, but I can hardly say it's unique. The visuals do complement the story in the sense that you will be shown random sequences of images along with random pieces of information. The fight scenes had a lot of energy, I liked the sheer brutality and high stakes of the show, it actually felt like plot armor wouldn't save them, there was weight behind the fight, and there was weight behind the punches, the fights felt very kinetic, you could feel the force and the tension of the battle. Also I'd like to say that the fights never defy the logic of the show, there are very few bullshit asspulls saving them in the fights. Cruel Angels Thesis baby 8/10 ost Characters. Know there's much to say so I'll be talking about each member of the main trio individually. Shinji. People ask a lot for realistic protagonists, and Shinji is one. he gets a lot of shit from people because he's frequently not okay with the situation and questions his every action. And yes it can be frustrating, but Shinji is a mentally traumatized 14 year old boy, and despite that, in most situations he is the most mentally stable one in the group. And even though he doesn't like it, he stills ends up saving the day. He's a reluctant protagonist, but Evangelion is a deep show that wants you to read into it's intentions, so I can't just dismiss Shinji's character as a whiny crybaby bitch. Asuka. Asuka is a stereotypical tsundere, however in the context of the time this character was written it was probably not considered a cliche character trope. In fact Asuka was sort of a revolutionary character for her time, and is a big reason why the tsundere trope is so popular in the first place. She starts off as very overconfident and arrogant, but like most characters in this show this is not surface deep. Asuka suffers from deep rooted insecurity and as a result seeks the attention and approval of others around her. Rei. Oh dear....... She has no clear emotions or convictions in any situation, and I get that's the point, but she's easily the the most shallow character, most of the events in her backstory are not a product of her actual self, and Rei never really has that same deep and complex personality that Shinji and Asuka have. She feels more like a plot device than an actual character Now the rest of the cast are certainly commendable for a supporting group, I liked that when everything goes to shit, nobody just sits around and watches, everybody's always doing something, everyone has a role and a purpose, and everybody tries to make the Eva project work. There is no "Waiting for Goku" there is just "Do shit without Goku" or "Help Goku", nobody ever truly gives up. And it is amazing that as the show progresses we see each characters mental state crumble, and we get a very real and haunting feeling as we peer into the true inner psyches of these characters. I mean it really feels like you're reading their soul, each characters eventual breakdown is horrifyingly fascinating. 7/10 I don't really know what to say about how I actually felt, the show made me very claustrophobic in a sense, that the world was closing in and ending around me, by the time I was done I wouldn't be surprised if I went outside and everything was destroyed, it was an immersive experience, but also, it didn't make sense. The story I mean, it does no good to be immersed in an story you don't understand, though strangely I felt it was relatable, like these same thoughts and same psychedelic experiences were things I had experienced myself, and all this time Evangelion was barely scraping some deep human origin I can't understand but I can feel inside me, drifting away as I desperately reach for it. This show can only keep me wondering..... I don't know whether I like that or not, so I'm giving it a 6/10. Also there is an unbearable sexual tension, if only I could fuck the characters like this show fucked my mind. 7/10

This show was kinda like Sword Art Online in the regard that it was mediocre but I still found it entertaining. Let us just say that the first opening sequence of this show was phenomenal and set a great tone, how unfortunate that the tone it set was not actually how the anime was at all. Never in my life have I seen something go from 100 to 0 so quickly, the drop in quality was so fast and so astounding I actually am still finding it hard to believe it actually happened.
All of the characters are stupid, bordering on literal retardation to the point ... where after being awake for over 20 hours I could come up with better plans than these scientists in a matter of seconds. The most intelligent characters were only capable of using extremely basic tactics, like fucking backing away from an enemy with an extremely limited range (2 meters) Question, did any of these scientists think "Huh, maybe we shouldn't keep these dio-whatever fuck it, demons alive, maybe we should be more cautious when approaching them, maybe we should put our security through basic training so they know not to stand that fucking close to a demon who could shred them to bits instantly, seriously, its 2 goddamn meters. Why do they hire psychopaths to take care of shit , the one who threatened to kill multiple people for no reason and was extremely counter-productive, could they not get someone qualified to do it? The plot is completely unexplained, there are all these "demons", the reason why they exist is never explained, the reason why the two male characters are demons is never explained, and why they want to murder humans is never explained, other than the fact that the humans look like completely sadistic ass wipes. Why do Lucy and Kota like each other? Now hear me out on this one guys, maybe its just me, but if some girl I spent one summer with murdered my family I would not forgive her, no matter how nicely she asked. There are also incestual themes constantly, that never get addressed or resolved, and didn't really even have a reason to be there at all. This weird fucking love situation going on is so goddamn over the place, I could have written a better story than this, I literally could have, and I'm honestly a fucking dumbass. They only joy I derived from this show was the amazing opening and the fact that it was so mediocre to the point where it actually became comedic, which raised many questions like "Who the hell is paying these kids to live?" like don't they have bills and shit? Not one of them appears to have a job, two go to school, 3 are clearly unemployed. Oh yeah, I guess the excessive gore was cool, did it redeem this show? Absolutely fucking not, go watch Devilman or berserk if you wanna see that shit, if you honestly think that fucking gore is enough to bring this show back up to a respectable level, have fun at middle school.
