I love this light novel (it really just gets better and better!) but was a littlest disappointed with the anime adaption as it felt really rushed, especially towards the end.
Overall the art and voice acting was very good, and the story itself is summed up nicely. However, this really could have done with an extra episode or two as it completely flew through the final floors of the dungeon and skipped over crucial parts that will become key to the plot as a whole. Pacing let this down for me...
That being said I hope they do season two as I'll definitely be watching!

Charming? Yes. Complete? Far from it.
I had high hopes after the first few episodes that this would be a cute and funny show to relax go. Sadly, it lost its own premise halfway through, and never quite found its way back... Art - Pretty solid. 7/10 Story - It meanders all over the place and never fully settles on what it wants to do. 4/10 Characters - A nice departure from expectations overall, and I enjoyed how it played on various tropes. There isn't much character development, but they are likeable and charming. 7/10 Overall I enjoyed the earlier episodes (where actual househunting was taking place) ... Jan 15, 2023

I really enjoyed the first several seasons of this show, but the last couple have been a huge drag and I find myself tempted to fast forward through episodes or entirely quit watching. And I think I've pinpointed why...
The show had such heart to it at the beginning, and this was largely due to Midoriya and the other students. Their training, relationships, and growth were such fun to watch. But the show seems to have mostly forgotten about this and instead is interested in the adults and 'the big bad' now. It has lost its way in my opinion. I struggled to ... Jan 2, 2023
I have very mixed feelings about this series. The first handful of volumes are 8/10 -- solid character, interesting premise, and good sense of momentum.
However, it loses steam after certain plot points are hit and feels very meandering and aimless. There is minimal character development, and it seemed repetitive. I had to push myself to finish and it was just... meh. Very abrupt and no sense of real conclusion for any of the characters or even the plot itself. I recommend reading the first several books but then not so much after that. - Art is infrequent but very good - Characters are a bit ... |
