One might watch this show today almost for entirely different reasons than why they'd normally watch a show like this. It's kind of like a time machine to before everything became super sanitized, censored, and generally politically correct.
Every episode has a few things in it that would get it cancelled today. But all the jokes are just that, jokes. Nothing is to be taken seriously or that it's trying to demean people or that the show is trying to teach negative views and habits to actually incorporate into your life.

I liked it overall. Good character development, you do care about most of the characters and their motivations make sense contextually; lots of grey, not so much black and white. Hollywood should take a hint from works like this on how to effectively write characters.
It has a pretty art style with Miyazaki-esque colors and is fairly laid back. The action scenes were pretty good, but most people aren't watching the anime for the fights, they're watching it for the chill sipping-something-hot-while-wrapped-in-a-cozy-blanket vibe. I look forward to Season 2, although I've heard that the writing does decline somewhat. I suppose we'll see! May 20, 2023

This show is pretty mediocre. The MC ostensibly is already extremely overpowered practically right off the bat. The lack of awareness from the MC is fairly frustrating at times. There isn't really much personality from anyone; the MC is simply a good guy that lucked into becoming essentially perfect. The little wolf probably has the most personality so far.
I am only continuing to watch it because the material it was based off of is apparently pretty good, so hopefully this first half of the season was just some kind of slow burn and that expectations will be subverted and the story might take ... |
