Some people might think I'm being too nice but it was ok..... I'm kidding
As someone who read the manga the second season 1 ended I was very dissapointed in the anime.
It starts off okay but then as the story progesses you might not find anything wrong with it if you haven't read the manga but boy-oh-boy are you gonna be dissapointed if are a manga reader. The plot is extremly different from the manga.
Overall I was very VERY dissapointed. But, if you watch the 2nd season before reading the manga you'll probably like it for the time before reading the manga however, read the manga
...
before then all I can say id good luck...!
Here's how it goes -
*****MAJOR MANGA SPOILERS THAT PRETTY MUCH SUM UP THE MANGA AND SEASON 2*****
To start off-
* THE ENTIRE GOLDY POND ARK ISN'T THERE !
* A lot of charecters are missing, remember that wolf girl who was in Norman's group who was raised by a demon ? Yea ? Well, she isn't there. You have to know about Yuugo right ? Yes ? He isn't there either ! Or what about Oliver and every other kid in Goldy Pond ? You guessed it none of them are there. Many other charecters aren't there.
* You know that cool fight in Goldy Pond where Emma nearly got killed by Bayon ? You might be wondering how the story even progressed since that fight played a major role in the boss battle, have you guessed it ? That scene ain't there either !
* What about the former Queen, the final boss ? She isn't even metioned. Hence, Bayon from Goldy Pond wasn't needed in convincing the demons. A smart move by the producers as they didn't need to cut costs for that ark either.
* What about Norman's cool meeting with demons ? Do I even have to say it ?
*And Isabella's death ? As I mentioned, the plot is very different from the manga. Hence, she didn't die.
*And the way they got to the other world was similer but entirly different at the same time. Emma didn't make a contract with the demon king/god so her memories are still there when she crosses over and she's still with group (this is one of the only differecec I didn't mind). This also answers the question, "What about the promise being written over ?" She didn't need to rerite it since, well you know, the way the they got to the other world was similer but entirly different at the same time.
*I was also insanely dissapointed how they tried to fill in the gaps but misserably failed.
The only glimse of the Goldy Pond, Mujika's crowning etc we get is at the end of the anime in a shot that dosen't last 5 seconds !
And my god did they butcher their appereances. Like their faces are built like triangles...
Hope you enjodyed reading this review and also felt my burning hate for this season and my dissapointment and my anger with the producers and my sadness with S2 and pretty much everything else you are currently feeling.
:)
