Kouhei Kadono's Boogiepop Series inspired many, one of them being Nisioisin– the writer of the popular Monogatari Series. Another one of his remarkable work is Zaregoto Series which is the most Boogiepop-like work of his that I've come across. It pays good tribute to this masterful novel with a number of references here and there, as well. An urban setting with a mix of sci-fi and supernatural mysteries unraveling as the stories progress while simultaneously building and exposing the interesting world around the characters. Engrossing and tasty narrative weaved through unreliable narrators. An interconnected storyline containing powerful encounters among the cast. I highly recommend checking them both out.

Both are coming of age stories with similar art style used for similar purpose. Well, Fuujin Monogatari is more artistic and aesthetically pleasing but they both carry similar meaning with their visuals. Both are engrossing and endearing. A strong sense of affection coats them both.
