BECK is one of the most realistic anime I've seen.

This story centers around a main character and his painfully slow development from an ordinary boy into a charismatic passionate young adult.

The pacing of the story conveys perfectly the frustration and sacrifice required for personal development. In many instances, the story appears to move at snail pace, just like any real life attempt at self improvement, but as you bear with the characters continuous efforts, you are finally rewarded by a transformation as distant from its origins as you can possibly make.

This in itself made the whole anime awesome for me, so If you're willing ... to tag along on a life changing journey day by day, this is the right anime for you.

The story is so good, that makes up for the lower quality art and terrible english by supposedly japanese-americans throughout the series.

To the BECK producers, you've got a gold mine here. Please remake this series in HD with better animations and this time around, please hire real japanese-americans for the corresponding voice actors and have them correct the garbled attempts at english everyday phrases sprinkled all over the place. With this few adjustments, it is sure to become a runaway hit back in America.

This is not a review... This is a recommendation to watch this anime.

This is one of those few, where I would say forget about examining it under the microscope and live through it all at once. This is one of those few animes so powerfully crushing that after watching it I was grateful for the opportunity to learn from it.

This is a powerful, emotionally charged anime that made me cry, cheer and think.

Yes yes yes, it is filled all kind of heart string pulling tricks that compounded tend to fall beyond the fantastic and into the disbelief area... but once I started watching it ... I become addicted to it.

In the end, I could see my self in this anime and learned an important lesson for my life. At this point stop reading and watch it... then send me a message, I'd like to know what you learned from it.


My lesson learned:

That we are all Chihiro, to some degree, as we become more and more involved in daily life the endless series of routines start to strangle those few precious moments which are really important to us. If we don't stop every now and then to recall them, they will be lost forever.
