This is the only anime that I've ever felt I had to review. I'm currently re watching this for the 1st time and I'm on episode 6. This is one of the only animes I've given 10 put of 10. The way this story touches my heart is hard to explain. I cry all the way through it because it's just so beautiful.

Despite so much tragedy and darkness pervading the story it's also a story filled with happiness and love. The title your lie in april is the best ... possible title too because it sums up what this story is. Fundamentally, this is a story riddled with lies and deceit. It's filled with both darkness and light.

The art style is mostly vibrant and beautiful despite the underlying tragedy and sorrow that is lurking beneath a surface painted with pretty lies to hide the ugly truth. This is fundamentally a story of recovery from depression, sorrow and loss, and guilt. With a dark secret hiding beneath the surface.

Kaori is Arima Kousei's savior. She helps bring back color into his world, shows him how music that comes from your heart sets you free. Kaori is the light in Kousei's darkness. She's the hand that pulls him from the deep dark sea of guilt and back to life.

Despite the facade of being Friend A, Arima and Kaori have a deep connection through music and love that will never be broken. A story that's unforgettable and the cutest, most beautiful, and most tragic love story in a long time.
