On its own, this is very solid and definitely worth watching. I am a massive Re:Zero fan and I love this show, however, there were a few problems I had with it, but they are very minor.
Story 10/10: The story is still high quality, just like the last season. I've heard that many people say its better than last season, however, I had no problems with last season, so I view it as about the same. The pressure, stakes, and overall plot bring about a story that is at times heart wrenching, terrifying, and overall, thrilling. The only problem I've really had with it was
...
that when it was airing it felt weirdly paced, but upon rewatch its perfectly fine. Not much else I can say without spoiling, but it is truly amazing.
Art 8/10: If I'm being honest, the art is a bit of a downgrade. Now, I can't hate on it completely as White Fox has had to deal with the pandemic, so even though there are problems, I'm giving them some slack. The background art is incredibly high quality, just like the last season. I'd say the only thing the background art lacks are those truly awe inspiring shots that were seen in the last season, but never the less, it is still incredible and far better than the average show.
Now, the problem arises with the character's art. There has been quite a change to the faces. The eyes and ears are what particularly stand out, but even then, there is an overall change that I personally don't like compared to the previous season. Also, the characters used to have this certain style that really made them *pop*, but now their coloring and style feels a little bit more flat. Now the characters do look strange at times, but that isn't what bothers me, these changes were going to be there even if the pandemic hadn't hit. In the directors cut, we saw the first scene of season 2, and the characters looked the same as they do now, so I don't blame the pandemic for the change.
So overall, the character designs are still something to behold, but I think they are a downgrade from last season.
Sound 10/10: The sound is absolutely incredible. Just like last season, beautiful music, beautiful sound effects, voice acting that will move you to tears! One thing I noticed is that there are many more string instruments and voices used in the background music than the previous season, which gives it a more fantastical effect, something I think was very intentionally and truly fits the season. In the sound department, this series truly earns its 10/10.
Character 10/10: Re:Zero always delivers in characters. Subaru is still a great protagonist, someone who you sadly enjoy to watch suffer, but one who's wittiness always gets a chuckle. Otto is obviously best boy, while he tends to be the butt of many jokes, his kinder spirit puts a smile on your face. Emilia is done well in the scenes she's in, but doesn't get as much screen time as I think she should. I'm sure Emilia will get more screen time in the s2 p2, but in this half, she didn't get much. Garfiel is fun, and his unpredictability is part of that. Roswell is a quite an enchanting character, and I just want to see more of him. Now, the character that has caught a lot of attention is Echidna. Like most characters in Re:Zero, she is truly full of motives that are hard see or understand, and that is possibly what makes her so appealing. Overall, Re:Zero has never failed on characters, and certainly earned its 10/10.
Enjoyment 9/10: When watching it while airing, I liked it, but felt something was missing. Re:Zero season 1 had a certain charm about it, one that I can't quite put a finger on. Season 2 has been great, no doubt, but I think it is slightly missing that charm. Upon rewatch, I am giving it far more credit than I did originally, it is still great. Even though its missing this little charm, at the end of the day, its Re:Zero, I still love everything about it, and it is still my favorite show.
Overall 10/10: I think this is still excellent, after all its still Re:Zero. It has some faults, but I'm entirely willing to look over them. They aren't detrimental to the series, and thus, I don't their worth determining how good the series is as a whole. Re:Zero is truly something speciel, something that rises above the standard set by normal anime. Thus, I feel it is truly deserving of a 10/10. This is still a masterpiece.

I genuinely don't think that this Anime has any major faults, it is seriously air tight. Before I praise everything, I'd say the only fault is how hard episode 12 and 13 are to watch, and that's not a bad thing, as its obvious that's how it was intended. Now, the story is impeccable, with the first arc being a great introduction, the second arc giving a lot of time to build up the characters, and the third arc using Rem and Subaru to their full advantage, bringing an incredible story with great action, while still introducing and building a ton more characters! The art
...
is really something, there were a few moments where I had to pause and just look at the background art. Also, the colors of the characters really just *pop*, the art is overall very nice. The music and sounds are also just amazing, music to note would be the witch's theme and the song played at the end of episode 15. Characters are also amazing. Subaru is such a deep and rich character, while also being a very witty and fun character. Emilia is a very beautiful and sweet character, and I think she is done very well for what this season was aiming for, but I'm hoping season 2 will build on her character just a bit more. Rem is Rem, everyone know just how sweet, and incredible, and loving she is, she is one of the best characters in the show, and many moments hit that much harder because of that. Ram has some great humor, is a fun character, and I wish she could a get more screen time, she is SO underrated. Other characters to highlight are Crusch, Wilhelm, and Beteleguese, all great characters. I know I'm kind of just praising everything, but I can't help it, I enjoyed this show so much and can't praise it enough. 10/10, an absolute masterpiece, you cannot change my mind.
