This work started out great! The friendships developed between all the characters were well fleshed out and drove the plot well. The FL's reincarnation ended up being a very minor plot point for her and the story, which was a refreshing take with these kinds of stories. The "playboy" prince character also felt more real, less of an annoyance, than typically found in these works. I honestly enjoyed the friend group and their dynamics that were developed throughout the first half of the work.
However, things took a turning point in the story's quality after the main love interests met. Maybe it was just the writing,
...
or they were pressed for time to wrap things up, but by the end it seemed the author(s) threw the original concept out the window. The friends and side characters hardly showed up after their meeting, which made for a "bland" read and also didn't make much sense plot-wise. They also started to throw in a bunch of time-skipping at this point, which made things harder to follow, although it DID progress the story faster. (Also, the MLs hair style changed suddenly at one point with no warning or explanation whatsoever for the change. He just showed up with different hair in the next chapter he showed up in. Maybe I just missed a chapter, or they weren't able to include it in the adaptation?)
Honestly, my biggest complaint is that by the end, I could hardly recognize the original concept/story, and I felt the author was tired of writing a historical fantasy romance, and wanted to draw more of a "modern" romance instead. This was especially the case for the wedding, as all the traditions, behaviors, and outfits of the characters seemed to resemble a modern-day wedding, instead of a "traditional" wedding hosted by nobility in a fantasy/historical romance.
To sum it up: First half starts strong, second half loses its momentum and seems rushed and confused. It IS filled with adorable fluffy scenes, but if you're looking for a continuation of the story lines and friendships that drove the story until the main characters meet--you'll ultimately be disappointed. I don't regret reading it, and I am glad I stuck with it to learn what happened, but it did leave me with an empty feeling like something was lacking by the end and a whole unraveled mess of loose ends that'll never be tied.
