What do our dreams even mean if we don't accomplish them with the ones we love the most at our side?
This anime is a must watch. It is based in the world of the video game "Cyberpunk 2077" which was game that was so unbelievably broken at launch most people including myself wrote off the entire thing. I for one never even finished the game because of how buggy it was.
But THIS... THIS is obviously what they had in mind for the world they built within that game. The dark gritty underbelly of a society that cares only about escaping reality, status, and augmenting their
...
bodies ultimately to the point that it kills them.
The story is great. Despite other reviews in which some people expressed their distaste for either some of the characters actions or the length of the story itself, the story ranges to tell us so much about every character in so little time. Every single scene actually moves the plot forward unlike many anime, and even Hollywood movies coming out today, and comparatively it made for a much more compelling series than most even despite its tiny runtime. While it's shortness did leave me wishing for more, I feel as if the writers had let off the gas pedal even a little, it would not be on MAL currently sitting at an 8.76. The Characters are well written as well but I won't delve into them in order to allow you to experience them all for yourself, you will love them, even if they do things you wished they wouldn't.
The sound is no doubt one of the most amazing things about the entire anime. After you watch you will no doubt listen to the soundtrack at least one time trying to find that one song that you liked so much you needed it on your playlist. Mine was pretty basic and probably the one most people picked: "I Really Want to Stay at Your House" by Rosa Walton and Hallie Coggins. All of the sound fits in so well with the scenes it really is hard to hate on this aspect of the show.
While at first the animation seemed a little weird, I very much enjoyed it after getting past the opening scene. Very very vibrant and beautiful, while also able to be horrifying and gory. Maybe not as stunning as others but definitely unique compared to what I have seen.
This anime should be watched in dub. It fits the setting more and there's no downgrade in quality of VA's in fact they probably have even more star power than the Japanese ones worldwide.
This anime will make you feel emotion. Even those with hearts of iron will feel a certain type of way with after this anime. In order to not spoil the experience as I had done to me I won't tell you anymore on this.
Thank you for reading. I hope you watch this animation. It is worth your time, even if you hate Cyberpunk 2077, and even if you hate anime.
