[Spoilers]
So what I'm about to say is controversial and make people angry, but Megalo Box is a boring mediocre anime and is such.
Arc 1: Story;5
It's simple and not really to revolutionary. It's about our MC trying to prove he's a good boxer and wants to participate in Megalo tournament to step in someones ring. And to add insult to injury the execution isn't really great. The decisions in anime are admittedly retarded and how can anyone call this a future great is beyond me. Compared to HnI or AnJ it really pales a lot in what it's supposed to do. Really not much
...
to discuss.
Arc 2: Art and Sound; 6
The animation is really weird and sometimes outright ugly. Whoever directed this thought like an Instagram thot and told to put a ton of filters on the shows. The art would be better as it really can show, but the filters are ruining it. Honestly for being an anniversary project, It really looks ugly and flat. Heck the fight scenes highlight this problem as the way they fight is slow and stiff. The sound doesn't also have much as you can barely notice it unless they blare rap and an ost at a time.
Arc 3: Characters; 4
How can you write the dumbest characters in an anniversary? Joe is an alright character and Nanbu is pretty on point with both having dumb moments. Now the other characters are the epitome of fucking cancer and forgettable characters. Yuri is literally just a dog of a rich girl and you really can't even have a connection with him at all. Fujimaki is the traditional gangster and Yukiko is the generic rich girl. Now Sachio is fucking dumb. Literally the definition of wow that's just lazy. He literally knows how gears work with no explanation and is now a second for Joe. Guys this has to be the laziest writing for a show that is rated highly and people are defending the kid too. Stop and address this show has problems with the characters instead.
Arc 4: Enjoyment and overall; 4.5
This is a mediocre show that has been overblown and I just can't stand how people are enjoying this show. It's boring but overblown. For a AnJ anniversary, this is probably the worst anime for that. Once this show is done I will do a full on review of this show and what it does wrong and why it's mediocre in detail rather than a preview. I doubt this will get better, but if it can fix the issues I found with the show then maybe I my opinion will change.
Recommendations is AnJ and HnI as they both are way better in every aspect of what this show can't do.

Spoilers Ahead:
Story: 6
Natsuo Ishida is a super talented girl who pissed off too many people because of her talent. Her brother, friends, and etc. She then gets destroyed by an annoying bitch, Yuzuko Mawatari, from a fight on the roof and then strives to defeat her in the future in a tournament. Problems in the story are sometimes really evident. Some of the action don't have anything to it rather than Natsuo being "talented" except for her last loss that was complete bullshit. The main goal for the mc is just to fight the annoying girl that is Mawatari. Then there is the problems with
...
characters like her brother and Sawamura and Ringi. The main plot isn't boring concept, but it was executed poorly. It had poor buildup, lack of good fights, and it ended way too early. The story is above average and would like to see the continuation, but want to see improvements if the author comes back.
Art:8
The art was done well for the most part. Some character designs were a little weird, but you can still appreciate the designs still.
Character: 6
Some of the characters were actually lovable and others were just plain bad.
The loveble;
-Natsou, even though had a shit personality, was enjoyable character to love. She was like Sawamura from HnI and had some cool story along with her.
-Sawamura, Ninomiya, and Ganeko are also likeable characters.
Ishidou the brother, even though he abused his sister, has seen error in his ways and seem to get him self back on track near the end of the series.
The Garbage:
-Yuzuko is the worst character in Teppuu. I mean the end just proves this as she defeated Natsou even though Natsou is as talented as Takamura from HnI. Seriously this is like Wally vs Ippo except of being logical to some extent(Wally had little experience since he barely started but was talented) instead we get this bullshit that she defeats her with willpower alone. I mean Ippo at least had talent but worked hard too. That being said, I liked that she worked hard to at least get there, but it was clear she should've lost. She also doesn't have any character development other than, she likes to get hit.
-Mario is also some bullshit too. No fighter can have 500 or whatever opponents they have defeated with no losses.(Also that is even impossible as time between fights would have to be like a week or two.) Even greats fall but apparently not. He also has a huge ego for being a person who didn't even fight a man who is supposedly weak.
-Ringi because she is just there to be there.
Enjoyment and Overall:7
The series is good to read and would recommend. It suffers from stuff here and then but overall a 7.

[Spoilers Ahead] Short on Purpose
Act 1, The Story & Characters: 8
The story sounds generic, but in reality it really isn't. It starts out like another chosen one story. Monsters come somewhere and reek havoc on earth. Then transfer girl called Nana, who supposedly can read minds, comes in and the first chapter does the obligatory chosen one stuff until the end. Nana kills the boy and said that the ones on the island are the true humanity's end. This was a mind fuck. Absolutely a mind fuck. Nana goes on the quest on killing the students on the island. She is very smart in
...
killing the people she is targeting and knows what to do. She leaves very little traces and is very good at it. But she also fails to kill one student that is immortal and v=can sometimes be outsmarted. I only want to spoil Nana only.
Act 2, The Art: 7
It's really well done with some errors. I really liked Nana's design and her face when she almost gets figured out.
Act 3, Enjoyment and Overall: 8
It was really good in my opinion. Really just read the manga and decide what the score is. Once again, I enjoyed it and thought it was well done.

MAJOR SPOILER
Alright this is a serious review and my first review, but let me say I have read the manga before. Another thing is I don't review this like an idiot who thinks after reading Beserk, Stein, Monster, FMA:B, or any other "masterpieces" that they have the philosophers hammer and the alchemist stone. I also rate mostly on enjoyment primarily. All right lets begin.
Act 1; The Story:8
The story accomplishes what it set out to do, and that is a dramatic story about two lesbian lover who are now sisters. Now let me say this, don't expect this to be a masterpiece in terms
...
of story, pacing, and execution. (Though it's my personal masterpiece) Ep1 spoilers only. The story begins with Yuzu talking to her friends on how she want's a boyfriend. Her luck was awful, as she went to an all girls school. At the entrance she meets Mei, a rather calm and beautiful girl, as she has violated school regulation. She then sifts Yuzu to get her phone and tell her to wash the makeup off. She then encounters another girl who had the same troubles of the school regulation, Harumin. Harumin basically tells her why the students are rather dull and how they were sheltered. They become friends as they are both alike. She then has her first conflict as she sees Mei kissing the same teacher. When she tried to get away, they notice she was nearby from her clumsy mistake. She runs. She then returns home only to be shocked that Mei, the same girl, was her new sister. She seems rather stunned and uneasy on Mei. From there she bugged her until she brought up the incident and asked how can she kiss if she is not genuinely in love and is only doing it for the thrill. This is where I'll end it here as I might get this review taken down for play-by-play and if i spoiled the first major plot point. The show does the drama right, most of the tension is explainable and the execution is generally done well. The grimes with it's a little fast pace at times, but everything is well done and In My Opinion, great. Though the story is about same sex love, and if your against that then don't watch. As for the yuri scenes, they are mostly explained why it happens, so to put it off as fan service is definitely wrong.
Act 2; Animation and Soundtrack: 7.6
The animation for the show is Amazing, but some of the original art work from the manga is not shown at the same time. One of the many good things about the manga is the artwork and the anime has shown to reflect that but at the same time have a modern take on the show's artwork. Now more on about the errors in the animation, there are scenes that look wonky. Though the animation has gotten better, there is still scenes that look messed up still, but it was less apparent with it's improvement. The ost fits the show well and are mostly, music to my ears. The VA's have done their part greatly and for their dub counterpart(Dub isn't my favorite thong to listen) they have seem to do justice for dubbers. The op and ed are another thing that I have to give praise to as they really fit the show.
Act 3; Character: 8.3
Most of the characters are really fun and interesting. No character doesn't feel annoying or boring. Personally I like Momokino as her character design and her personality I can definitely enjoy. All the characters have a motivational factor for their actions and their personality are great. Still, there are still some things to push them over for, the characters are great.
Act 4; Enjoyment and Overall: 9 (for enjoyment) 8 (Overall)
I really enjoyed the anime so far as it has been a great adaptation for the series. It really has been my number 3 show for the winter season so far. (#1 is Magus Bride) Overall it gets a 9/10 and my recommendations are Dear My Girl, The Star and The Flower, and Sakura Trick.
Fin
Sidenote; If you literally reviewed this like a philosopher, then you going about an entertainment media the wrong way.
What would you like me to review next, Berserk after 100-200 chapters, Magus Bride, Hajime No Ippo Manga or show, or would you like me to watch your personal favorite show. Comment on my profile and I'll see what are the most popular choice so that I can review it next.
