This is my first Josei manga and I’m so happy about that. This series was funny, serious, and quite realistic in a lot of ways. I really enjoyed it. There were times where I found myself laughing out loud or talking to myself . I love the art work. There's something about it that's fits my tastes perfectly. The panels were really easy to read/follow. Sometimes I read mangas where the story gets confusing to follow in parts or the dialogue just doesn’t work for me. I didn’t have this problem with Happy Marriage. The plot flowed nicely and I enjoyed the dialogue because it ... felt very natural and realistic.

What I like most about this series is that despite some of the obvious clichés here, the relationship between the main characters developes in a very believable manner. It seems natural and it pulls you in. The relationship is charming and that charm carries the story to the end.

The main characters were great - funny, insightful, cute, etc. I also loved the ensemble cast and getting to know about our hero’s past. I think the mystery there could have been a bit stronger, but I was glad that it wasn't over the top. It didn’t take away from the story. I think my only issue is that our heroine’s father disappears for too much of the story. We don’t really get to know much about him except that he’s a bit of a trouble maker that means well.

Overall, if you’re looking for a mature romance manga, I’d definitely give this one a try. It was a lot of fun and I read all 10 volumes in two days.

I love the art here. It's very very sharp and mature (not overly cutesy). This story is a great mix of fantasy, action, and romance. The main characters are endearing and I enjoyed watching them grow through their many adventures. I thought pacing was great. Each volume had a lot to offer and held my attention. I enjoyed all of the side characters and their stories. Often when I'm reading manga series I find that things sort of go awry towards the end. I was glad to see that didn't happen here, and the ending was very satisfying. Time to watch the anime!

This series started off okay for me. I didn't dislike it, but I didn't feel that there was anything particularly awesome about it either. What I did end up loving about the first volume was Maria. It's interesting to see such a blunt, honest character that's still vulnerable a naïve in a lot of ways. Watching her form her circle with the other characters became more interesting with each volume. Though the plot wasn't particularly new in terms of shojo, I found the themes to be rather new and that made the story coast from okay to something more.

This series was pretty funny in a ... lot of ways, but things got a little too melodramatic for me towards the end. I also felt that Maria dealt with some rather serious drama and it didn't quite play out realistically enough for me. I was also annoyed by the fact that the mangaka felt every guy needed to fall for Maria.

I did enjoy the romance here. It was actually realistic given their ages. I would have liked a stronger ending. All in all, this series is a rather nice character study. Despite the issues I had with it, it was well written and I loved the art.

So a lot of people might feel like this is your typical awkward girl who gets the hottest guy manga at first glance. That's certainly what I was expecting, but I got something that was a lot more realistic than that. Mei is shy and quiet in a very realistic way. She has trouble making friends because it's hard for her to trust and open up to people for certain reasons. She meets Yamato and once they start spending time together, Mei's life starts changing in ways she didn't anticipate.

What I liked about this story is that it developed just right, for the most part, ... and it felt very real. I think we all know a Mei or two, and this story might help us to see those like Mei in a different light. The friendships were nice to see. I would have loved more time in the sun for the side characters. The romance was also nice. It was a great first love type of thing that blossomed in a believable way.

Unfortunately, I think the story started to feel a little rushed and undone in spots around volume 12. As such, the end was nice, but not as satisfying as I expected with such a strong start. Overall, I think this is a pretty good series and I would recommend it to others looking for a good shojo series. Also,I loved the mangaka's afterwards. They're very thoughtful.

Strobe Edge was a really fun and well written series. I love how the author shows that love can grow and change. Love can have lots of outcomes. Liking someone doesn't necessarily mean they'll like you back. Liking someone also doesn't mean you should or need to disrespect romantic relationships you've already built. Most importantly, love needs time to grow.

What's really great about Strobe Edge is that there are so many fun friendships. Sometimes you don't even know how strong a friendship is and how much you need those bonds. I think all of the characters learned a lot about love ... and relationships.

I enjoyed all of the characts. They were funny, sweet, relatable, and realistic. Ren, Andou, Ninako, Gaachan, - all of the characters added layers to the story.

I loved the art. My only complaint is the size of Ninako's eyes. That bugged me. Other than that, the art was awesome and the panels were very easy to follow.
