So, first thing I got to say about this manga was that it surprised me on how good it was than I initially thought. When I read the premise, it seemed like it was gonna be the type of romance that would feel stale after 10 or so chapters. And as an avid shoujo romance reader, I've read quite a few stale stories that felt like they kept going through premise alone. It's still a purehearted romcom but Aishiteru Game wo Owarasetai executes and perfects that formula of "Young Love" down to a T.
The plot isn't going to be the thing that's gonna grab you.

It's just a slice-of-life story about two teens trying to get at each other. And the supporting cast is basically nonexistent. What matters is the two main leads and their cute (And dramatic) interactions. There's a core emotional hook to both of them and it's what sells the feeling of "Young Love" aspect that the author has said they wanted to capture. The art isn't amazing, but it's still great to look at. It does a great job at storyboarding and paneling. And what I noticed was that it has a knack at utilizing the black and white tones in creative ways.
The pacing and the structure is well handled as well. The first 10 chapters is basically just characters being your daily dose of being cutesy and adorable. Stuff you've definitely seen before if you read romance. It's typical but welcomed, imo. After that, the pacing starts to ramp up little by little. I've been reading the genre for almost 10 years and, the best thing about the story so far is that I genuinely don't know where it could go from here. I'm that excited to read more.
