I love the setting for this anime. Chinese Imperial Court life has always fascinated me, so when I saw this anime I knew I had to give it a watch. The visual designs do it justice and the different hierarchies within the forbidden city are well established.
Tone and Emotional Depth 3/10

This anime just gets me right in the feels. Feeling unsatisfied with how things ended up in your life and wanting a chance to do things again differently is such a great premise for an anime. This show is suspenseful and whenever you think it may be slowing down for a bit it throws another curveball at you. This show's cast is full of youthful charm, and even though what the Toman gang is doing is incredibly stupid and pointless, you do actually care about them.
