Delicious in Dungeon takes the world of Dungeons & Dragons and tips it on its head. That isn't to say Delicious in Dungeon is based on Dungeons & Dragons ofc but to say its demographic is linked. Throughout the story it takes a variety of beasts and monsters and manages to find creative ways to invent a meal from them, most impressive being the enchanted armour being similar to shellfish.
The repetitive nature of the episodes can make make some viewers lose interest since it makes the plot predictable but for those more interested in the food aspect than the adventure aspect will have no problem

It's easy to be swept up in the hype of popular shows especially when they're so popular they become a trend within themselves and when you do get swept up most people fall into two extremes; they want to focus on or over emphasise shortcomings and faults of the show, or they go with the hype and worship the screens they're shown on. Dandadan is no exception and the hype definitely matches up to the content despite what some say.
Is the plot predictable? At times it can be but no more than any other anime that aims to be easily digested but this feature is ...

Criminally underrated show with a great concept. Each episode to me felt wholly unique and intriguing, managing to keep my attention throughout.
The characters were easily distinguishable and memorable in their own ways and the way they interacted was at some points purely for plot convenience but most of the time it felt natural. The pacing was relatively consistent and plot lines didn't take too long to reach their relevant conclusions which is often something that causes some anime to fall behind on. Overall, Yamada Kun and the Seven Witches deserves more attention than it gets and I would say is a good first time romance anime. |
