Selection Project

These two share more than just being idol shows... They're similar in the following ways: - Two main characters, one with a more introverted and serious personality who lost someone, and wants to be an idol for them, as well as a more charismatic and cheerful character who's undergone a heart transplant a couple years prior to trying out the idol world. - A ghost of a past idol, who looks over the new generation in some ways, and left unfinished business. These two stories are extremely similar, yet the shows give off a completely different feel. Nevertheless, if you like one, you should check out the other, as it may be what you're looking for to satisfy that feeling of wanting more from the show.

Shadows House

Both these shows feature nobles (as the bad guys) and servants/lower class (as the mistreated). The artwork is dark and the intro in Moriarty, ending-song in Shadows House give off similar vibes. While shadows house has a far lighter theme, it has a creepy feeling to it. In either series there is some sort of mystery to be solved, with Moriarty having more day-to-day cases and shadows house one throughout.

Tokyo Revengers

Similarities: Kokkuku - 1. Stops time for everyone except a select few. 2.two groups of people (one family the other you could say is type of a gang in a way, more a religious group, but they still use gang-like violence to get what they want.) 3.Stops time to save people. Tokyo Revengers - 1.Travels back and forth in time. 2. Gangs and violence 3. Uses the time-traveling to save people. They differ in many ways, but I think both have some subtle comedy in them that make them enjoyable to watch. Tokyo Revengers does have more action than Kokkoku, but in either show you get to see some fighting and blood here and there.

Happy Sugar Life

Rin Kurenai kind of reminds me of Satou in that they are both a bit psychologically messed up, but have some sort of heart there.. both of them also feature pinkish hair* Other than those two characters being similar, these shows have each got their own set of a young girl with an older person relationship, that isn't quite normal.. The shows are both darker and feature some content that little kids should definitely not be exposed to. Main difference in these shows would be that the MCs are of opposite gender and Big order features magic and powers, while Happy sugar life does not. I would also say that Happy sugar life might be a bit more gory than Big order, although Big order has quite a bit of gore in as well*

Zutto Mae kara Suki deshita. Kokuhaku Jikkou Iinkai

Both shows show you the thoughts and feelings of a group of people that are all connected in some way. In Kokoro connect there are supernatural forces that make those feelings known and in Zutto Mae kara Suki deshita the characters deal with it themselves.

Kiznaiver

These are alike in the fact that they both feature the love interests of a bunch of people instead of focusing on just one couple. Difference mainly is that kiznaiver has supernatural elements that are a great part of the show where Zutto Mae kara Suki deshita does not*

Birthday Wonderland

Both spirited away and Birthday wonderland have adventures starting from where a girl must go through some sort of tunnel... these girls also get told the same thing when passing through. They share in the fantastic world designs with crazy creative ideas and journeys that are not at all predictable. In Spirited away a character gets turned into a fly and so that also happens in birthday wonderland at some point. Magic is something present in either and also some creepy looking 'bad guys'. The MC's are kind of similar in that they are clumsy and a bit on the 'scaredy cat' side. Also lastly Birthday Wonderland's music at times reminded me of that in Spirited away.

These two share in the fact that both worlds are kind of in a bad state and are trying to get things to go better.. They have a tiny bit of a dark undertone, sugar coated with the most outrageous/colorful/wacky worlds. The character Pipo in Birthday wonderland reminds me of the fairies in Humanity has declined in that they are tiny people and incredibly cute. In both shows it is non stop weird and wonderful things happening and kind of random at times.

In Birthday Wonderland a girl goes to another world, there they name her a 'Goddess', in strange dawn two girls go to a world where they are also treated as such. In both the MC/s isn't/aren't really sure why they get this name and also don't feel up to the task immediately. The Main Characters in these all at some point wish to go home. Strange dawn features a bunch of tiny people whereas in Birthday Wonderland there's only really one that stands out. You can see a unique world in either of the shows with lots of crazy things happening..

These two have the same, non stop action filled adventures, which can get kind of hectic at times. In Birthday Wonderland there is a 'tin man doll' that reminds me of the giant robot in Laputa... These both have very interesting world designs and for some reason made me think of one another.

Similarities: Cutesy style with a hint of a dark side (Made in Abyss is a bit more on the dark side though). They also both have Giant creatures which could be dangerous or not... Made in Abyss features old relics which are used as 'magical tools' and in Birthday Wonderland you get similar items and contraptions.

Nakitai Watashi wa Neko wo Kaburu

These shows feature the same type of 'silly humour' , Large/Fat/Grumpy talking cats..(In a Whisker away he gets more screen time though). A tunnel type entrance to a strange and different world. Stories in which someone is in need of saving or their lives could change forever.

Nyan Koi!

Nakitai Watashi wa Neko wo Kaburu
add

Nyan Koi! features a character that can speak to cats (not by choice), and in a Whisker away the MC can also converse with them. They are both on the lighter side, Nyan Koi! feeling a bit more silly, and whisker away more intense. The protagonists of the two shows are faced with the same danger of becoming something they don't necessarily want to be, and also their crushes are cat lovers. One main difference would be that in one the show is through the eyes of a male character and the other a female...

These shows are similar in that they portray a kind of romance story (in a very innocent way). Both shows feature a girl transforming into a different species to get closer to someone, and they face a choice of choosing which species they prefer to stay as..Amazing fantasy world designs, sometimes 'creepy' or 'scary' vibes and they share similarities in the parents section as well.
