If you're reading this, I'm going to assume you've seen both seasons of Yuru Yuri already, and wondering how the OVA stood up to the original aired series.


In short: It was everything all Yuru Yuri fans wanted (and needed!).

With the exception of the first five minutes, which was a funny engrish over the top parody scene. The entire OVA stayed true to all of the characters, and any returning fan will be very pleased with how they brought back their favorite characters.

Another great element they kept bringing back were the running jokes from the series. Ayano's Puns, Chinatsu's terrible art, Akarin's non ... existence, and most of the others are here too. None of the jokes ever seemed forced or rushed either, the entire time it legitimately felt like a Yuru Yuri episode. I was a little worried it'd just be another shitty OVA made by the company for some quick sales, but that was definitely not the case.

I want to keep this short, but to TLDR everything, I'd say if you enjoyed Yuru Yuri, you'll enjoy this. It was an amazing feeling to be able to watch my favorite show again and laugh at the same type of humor Yuru Yuri brings to the table.
