This is the type of manga that you go to when you want something really easy to enjoy, yet will stay with you for years, because it is absolutely out of the mold. The story is incredibly original, highly unpredictable, you really have no idea what to expect from one chapter to the next, without falling in the "abstract art" type of story that only 10 people on the planet truly enjoy.
Kind of like in Game of Thrones, there is no "plot armor" protecting any of the characters other than our immortal protagonist. You never know quite well which characters will be important or ... why until you find yourself completely attached to them.
Surprisingly, this is also an action packed show, and has this interesting set of innocent, almost childish, undertones mixed with really dark and heavy themes. A big big part of this series is the heartbreaks, which get to you via raw, believable events, and not overtly dramatic, cry-porn type situations. Yet, I should also mention it has good comedic relief. Too much at the same time to sound good, right? Well, it is an absolute page-turner, if you read through the comment sections on each chapter, you'll see tons of people confessing to having gotten through 100 chapters in a couple of days.
