I bought the deluxe edition of Uzumaki because I wanted to read something new from a author I have not heard before.
I hate horror and usually stay away from it because in a lot of western media and in books/comics, horror has become more of shock value either with excessive blood or cheap jump scares which becomes tiring. However having Uzumaki in 2 days, I can tell the the author really knows well how to keep the reader tense and shocked and keeping the horror genre alive.
The story boils down to the concept of the "spiral". This is pretty much an entire manga about
...
it. A town who has been affected by an unknown entity referred to as the "spiral". The entire town starts to change and many things happen to it that leaves the reader shocked but filled with questions as to what this "spiral" is and what it will do next. I remember reading each chapter wondering what will happen in the story using the "spiral" and it never ceased to keep me horrified.
The horror aspect for me was enjoyable(to a non horror reader) because the author used the over exaggerated blood or gore in the manga when it was absolutely necessary and not all the time. The author instead uses mystery and hopelessness in combination with the town and it's people, to create an addicting story that will keep you tense and really unsettled.
I had nightmares when I first finished this and became tense about just thinking about spirals and I think this manga made me not like snails anymore :p.
I would suggest reading this if you're new to the horror genre and I would pick up the deluxe edition which contains all 19 chapters+bonus chapter+something extra from the author.

Akudama Drive tells the story of a bunch of societal degenerates grouped together who try and finish a job that they are given for big bucks. That is pretty much the story and there isn't really much else to say since this show is 12 episodes. However, during those 12 episodes I can without a doubt say this was one of the best and most entertaining shows I have seen all year.
The action, art and sound delivery was top notch. This anime was just sexy to view and the animation was just very enjoyable. If you want to watch something for these specific reasons
...
then this a must watch.
Story as previously mentioned is pretty surface level but the other elements such as Akudama Drive universe like Kansai or who are the Akudama or the Executioners, those were really interesting things that made this story pretty cool, although I wish there was more history or backstory of this universe.
However, I'm gonna keep it real here. I have no idea what the message or meaning of this story is. If you held me at gunpoint and asked me this question I would just give up. This anime is more of just a tale of criminals picking up a tough job, but so much happens in this story that any clear message or point of this story is just gone. That aside, this show was entertaining and worth a watch.
Lastly, the characters were overall enjoyable. I had some who I heavily disliked and some who were my personal favourites. I just wish they gave the characters more backstory and only like 2 had almost a whole episode of backstory and 1 had some backstory which is just disappointing but what can you expect from 12 episodes.
Aside from that, give this show a watch since I'm sure you will enjoy this. The ending was great and finished off the 12 episodes in nice way.
If they do make more manga, anime or maybe even a video game/LN for this universe, then I would definitely give it a look in the future.

After having read Suzuka and really enjoying it, I went ahead and read A Town Where You Live, and Seo Kouji delivered something different but great again.
To those who read Suzuka, it can seem very similar. For example; Suzuka is about a someone from Hiroshima that goes and explores Tokyo while ATWYL is someone from Tokyo coming to Hiroshima. Although they are the same in that aspect, it still tells an enjoyable story
The characters in ATWYL are just great. The MC meets new people who are likeable and have different personalities. The characters who grew up with the MC are really great as well and
...
have very good synergy with not just the MC but with each other in a group. I really cared for the characters and felt invested with them because they all have their own goals and those who don't, push themselves to find their goals.
Suzuka's themes and messages change throughout the story but ATWYL takes this to another level. This manga is romance story but it's also a coming of age story about the MC and his friends who try to figure out who they are as they do different things in the story which is something great. Just like Suzuka, this manga is not static and character motivations, struggles and relationships change quite often, probably more than Suzuka but it does not feel rushed in any matter and makes you become more attached to the characters since it feels really realistic.
Although I don't think it's a problem, ATWYL has slightly less tension and suspense than Suzuka but when something negative or tense happens here, it does affect the story.
I gave this a high score because this coming of age story really resonated with me and I enjoyed everything about it. Also for the Suzuka readers, there might be little moments that will grab your attention.
In the end, if you liked Suzuka and enjoy a good romance manga and want to read a coming of age story that could perhaps resonate with you and leave you satisfied and with a smile, then A Town Where You Live is a definite must read for you, although I would read Suzuka first then ATWYL since the story takes place after it.

I first watched the anime like 2 times and dropped it because I got bored. I just recently completed and enjoyed so I went ahead and read the manga to see what it had in store. And what did it do? It delivered something fantastic.
The manga was such an enjoyable read and loved every second of it. Yamada is a student who causes trouble and nobody likes him. However as the story progresses, he discovers more about the school and the seven witches which helps him confront many problems thanks to other people who want to do the same. The problems change overtime and are
...
really never static which makes it more enjoyable to continue reading.
The characters are just amazing in here. All the characters are different and their appearances are different enough so you can identify them easily. They all different personalities and even goals. How the characters interact with each other makes me laugh and just increases my enjoyment for this manga.
The art is great and in environments that aren't in the school. You can appreciate what has been drawn.
In the end, the story is great, contains likeable and a memorable cast of characters and a satisfying ending and overall it's just fun. My only complaint is that because many characters show up into the story, some of them get involved into the story then forgotten for the rest of the story or the ending but only for a select few. Otherwise I highly recommend this manga and if you want something fun, enjoyable and just good, then this manga is definitely recommended.

I first went into this thinking it would be a typical romance manga with sports elements mixed into it. However, as the story started to progress, I could not put this down because every moment felt that it mattered and left me with questions as to what would happen. The characters(especially the main ones) are really well developed and makes you really care for them. They all have their own motivations, goals, aspirations and fears. Thanks to these elements I grew attached to these characters.
The two main characters are young, naive and dumb typical teenagers but seeing them go through sad, confusing and lovable moments
...
makes their struggles carry so much weight. This is really important because some of these struggles and worries can relate to the viewer and makes this story feel impactful , which is why I gave it a high rating since the themes vary and change.
The pacing was good and characters interactions were really enjoyable. The story isn't static so character motivations and goals change frequently which makes this manga so realistic and enjoyable to read. The characters not only grow as characters but also physically as well which is amazing.
The romance is fantastic, sweet and innocent however, as the characters grow, the struggles of their romances start to appear which keeps you hooked and leaves you wondering will happen.
Suzuka is a must read for any romance fan or anyone who just wants a heartwarming story with suspense and with twists and turns. I gave this manga my first 10 because Suzuka left such a good impression to me as a fantastic read and I personally related to one of the main character's struggles which struck me to rethink certain things about my life. In the end, this story deserves to be seen by many and I hope it does change or reveal something for you.

This was manga was really enjoyable. I heard the anime was mediocre but this is actually a good read. The characters were all different and unique which made you care about them. I loved the interactions between the characters each chapter had me interested. Another thing I enjoyed about the story is that even for a romance and comedy manga, the motivations and dreams change for the characters overtime which makes the plot points fresh.
The MC actually chooses a girl so it makes the manga worth it if you want a conclusion.
It also ends on a good note too and the ending is
...
really cute and wholesome. I definitely recommend it.

When I heard the description I was really excited. A few months ago I had started getting into Japan's 80's music and aesthetics, so when I heard about what this manga was about, I was really excited to read it and I would say it delivered. When reading this, I knew so many of the references like the songs and singers which made this manga so much more enjoyable. The story was enjoyable and the main character interactions was really cute to see, it kept you wondering what would happen next. This is definitely a good read for someone who like Japan's 80s stuff.
What
...
you can take from this manga is that no matter what your interests and hobbies are, there is always someone out there with whom you can happily enjoy these things with together and that's pretty amazing.

This manga near the END left me conflicted. If you're the type of person who is into the journey than the outcome of stories, then this manga is for you. The story had my full attention and always had me wondering what would happen next. I was constantly reading this manga and I could not put it down. The characters are great and although there is ecchi and a little harem going on with the mc, It does not mess up nor does it weigh down the story. The story (during the journey) is entertaining and actually good that makes you care about the characters.
...
Here is the problem with this manga, there are some plot holes and those plot holes are really aggravating. The plot holes don't show up so much during the middle of the story but more near 3/4 to the end part of the story. You start asking "wait what happened here or to that person or why". Near the end is when things become rushed and is when those questions start repeating and repeating.
The end was really disappointing and made me depressed because how could something conclude this underwhelming after being invested in these characters and having this roller coaster of emotions because of them.
This manga (because of the last few parts) left a really sour taste in my mouth that led to turbo depression.
