An anime that starts out with having its first episode being over an hour long, building up so many questions that have yet to be answered. An episode that shows you a character that is the personification of show business. It goes through deep drama, absolute hilarious scenes and ends you with a nice dessert of heart crushing feels. Once the credits roll on episode 1!, you realize that this episode managed to do more then what many animes struggle to do within a season, and even then it leaves you with the feeling of "This was the intro, and boy we are on a
...
ride now". This was only the story in of itself, now the animation is amazing with absolute stellar voice acting, making you feel the emotions of the character so much more.
With the absolute bomber of an first episode, its no wonder that the following two episodes are a bit slow and dull. The world has been set and we now enter it anew. It is here many viewers would lose a bit of interest, new introductions and over 10 years later our main characters are simply put reintroduced. We now follow the brother of the siblings Hoshino "Aqua" as he embarks on what seems to him his life's quests. Hoshino's character is in the next two episode a character many would dislike, edgy, dark and cold. It makes sense from his story that he has turned out this way, but you get a feeling of disappointment in him. Meanwhile Ruby the sister is to follow her mother's footsteps and the story of her is yet to kick off.
Now, episode 3 and 4 comes around and we finally see the born talent that is Aqua to show his might. It is here the anime shines, as it plunges into the industry of acting and showcases the dark side. A side that seemingly leaves no room for change, but along comes Aqua who even as a measly side character manages to change the direction of the scene. Aiding Kana from the first episode to shine, whilst staying in the background.
Episode 5-7 roll along and we are introduced to the terrifying side of online cyberbullying and end of with an episode 7 ending that leaves you amazed of who we have been following, Kurokawa Akane.
This is as far I have come at the point of writing, and to sum up the anime:
A star-stellar anime, that comes in swinging, breaks you down to the ground with emotions to only leave you broken on the sidewalk. A week later it comes back to you, picks you up and says "Episode 2 has come out", and builds up your trust again as we are given a new fresh start into the world of showbusiness. You accept the pickup, knowing that the emotions of episode one are only to repeat and face it head on with a smile.
