You should really give it a try. I was really sceptic at first and almost dropped on 4th episode but i made myself to watch at least half way trough. After passing 10th episode it was hard to stop watching. I will write synopsis and spoiler free review.

I would say it is drama, comedy, romance anime. Also it has more elements here and there but to sum the three will prevail.

Story is basically about student life and adulthood. Questions most of the important things in life trough the life of few friends and acquaintances. It starts off in a weird way if you ask me ... but as plot goes on it makes more and more sense why it starts that way. Later on it goes with its own flow and pace, you start to notice plot points and complications. Dynamic is just right in the middle, its not tense and it is not just casual watch. Drama in this anime is really strong point, it consumed me trough watching and also humoristic part to even emphasize dramatic scene or make it less dramatic was on place, really good compromise.

Art is refreshing in a way, i personally don't like some character art and also when it is a bright moment it really gets to bright for my taste, almost hard to watch at some points but i think it was on purpose. We can discuss that.

Sound is also pretty unique for me, did not watch many with voice(vocals) based soundtrack i mean it rarely has any instrumental. It was really pleasing and goes well with whole anime.

Characters were made almost perfect. There are a lot of main and side characters, (it has more male characters tho) various types of personalities resembles real life people. Of course it has extremities within but it does not conflict with a plot itself. Way of life for each character and their interaction often is show in a humoristic way but for me it was not to emphasized to be annoying.

At first i hardly enjoyed but after watching about 20% i was really enjoying. It had both funny and sad parts, lots of emotion and i really loved it. "It was a great ride"

All in all i don't have much to say except that it was worth my time and im so glad that i watched it, i am giving it 9/10 because i didn't like some things personally but it was just minor thing in a bigger picture. Thank you for reading and take care people :)

I thought i will never give an anime such a low score but this one deserves it aand i will tell you why.

Story starts pretty solid from first episode, you get some introduction and actually has a potential to be something promising. Aand it lasted whole episode, in the second one plot is turning to a flat line of nothingness. Does not develop from that in any smart way. Plot is full of illogical twists, besides, it has link to wonderland (it is not spoiler but you have to be prepared, you need special mind set for that ... and i am not even joking).

Art is just poor, unfortunately it was nothing special to me and animation was often blurry. In one episode i almost got seizure when image per second dropped to 0.5ish.

Sound was also something poor, it is like putting icing on a ruined cake, in a few moments it did emphasize melancholy but other than that it had no 'character'. It was as plot, just a strait line.

Characters... Oh my.. where to start. Well we have some basic 'stereotypes', like boy in 20s who has split personality between obsessed teenage boy and sexual predator. Another boy and that one is definition of pathetic dude in every way possible and in the end a retarded girl who don't know how to express her feelings, sorry for expression but i am so mad writing this... THERE WAS NO CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT, NO SIDE CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT.

I did not enjoy single second of watching after 1st episode.

This anime is illogical, unreal and so twisted up it makes me sick. It has no point what so ever, except to kill yourself or be immoral and stupid. Anime which relies and has base on reality and relationship between people in one second and few minutes later makes contradiction without explanation why in the first place and then continues expanding deeper meaning in opposite.
The only good thing in this anime (for me) was the idea how it all started and that is why i watched till the end. I would have dropped loong time ago. This was just waste of my time.

If anyone says that this anime make sense please do private message me explaining me how. Maybe i missed something or i am just too plain stupid for this one. I would write more but i will stick to that spoiler free part.

I will throw a bone here, just to explain my claims. How can u differentiate love from obsession? Can human have no emotion seeing girl he think he loves?

I was inspired by the all negative reviews to write my own. This is not a perfect anime but it is something different, close to be one and i will tell you why.

Will make this SPOILER FREE and short.(This will not be synopsis)

Plot:

Plot is very complex string filled with questions. First you have no idea what is going on and anime prime focus is action but as it continues things change quite a bit. Instead of pure action you have alot of elements in it with good plot in base. I was not bored even in one moment because it is fast paced and ... you always have things to think about in the back of your head.

Characters:

There are alot of characters with different personalities and it allows to flow naturally. You can find your favorite among them. Some characters at first are really annoying and make no sense along with some scenes but later on when you see whole picture (at least part of it) you will understand those characters better. There is small character development but 13 episodes were not enough to see anything big. It is expected in the near future. Chemistry between some characters with completely different personalities is very pleasing.

Animation:

You have to get used to this one, but in fact i really like it because it fits perfectly for that kind of genre. Action animation is really solid and effects are on point.

Sound:

From OP to ending scene (whole soundtrack) is one of the best ones out there. Quality of audio and and production is on next level. Yes it has some songs from other movies (but it is not the same thing). They modified sound speed even beat. Connection between scenes and sound are on next level same as starting and ending points.

OP is spoiler free which is also rare thing nowadays.

To conclude, if you are in search for not typical action anime with drama/romance/comedy (it is not abused and there is not much) you should check it out. The only real problem is waiting for 2nd season...

Why 10/10?

I will do my best to use right words. It will be spoiler free and short.

This will NOT BE SYNOPSIS like half of red reviews with bad scores. Will talk about those later on.

To use one word to describe this movie it would be beautiful.

To start off with a plot, it is not to wide or to deep to see some logical sequence, but what is behind that plot is stunning. It could be relatable in a ways, and message is on spot. It shows filthy parts of this world and humans by nature but also preview of bright side. Like emotions, connection, prettiness, ... kindness of a soul, nature itself and etc.
Emotions are all over the place, it is not so dramatic as its predecessor for me but it still have some firm points. Furthermore it is not perfect, because i always find something that is not to my taste but in the other hand it gives so much more.
Main characters have development and it goes trough entire movie. Support characters have more background story comparing to the main ones but it is not a bad thing. This way you can get better picture of their emotions and you don't judge them from their past actions.

Art, music, movie dynamic is top notch as expected. It flows so smoothly that i lost count how many times i got goosebumps while watching. And result is spectacular.

What more to say? Well first of all i am sorry for grammar mistakes, my English is average so don't mind me. Second, this may be little bit subjective but for those who have written bad reviews, with scores under 5 are furthest from objective thinking and should ask themselves what did they expect out of this. I am not trying to be smart but i will say this, you cannot fully judge by compering to your expectations or other anime movies. I don't say you can't compare but don't see how can you base all review on that because it does not stand and cannot be called critical review.

Anyways, i recommend this movie.

I thought that this anime will be brainless driving action, but i was very wrong. It had much more elements than i expected and you have more than just one main plot. This is one anime which has perfect synchronization with music. Now whenever i hear music from anime i feel same emotion that i felt while watching and it is great. It is not perfect anime but i highly recommend whether you love cars or not.

Plot is simple but good enough to keep you on guard till the end. While having main plot, u have some side ... story which makes tension go away for a while. And it has tremendous amount of detail when it is needed.
Of course, character development is strong in this one and it goes trough 5 seasons, not as Haikyuu but still a lot of character growth.
Songs are just perfect for anime. Animation could be better but hey, it is old and despite being old it does more than a good job.

SPOILER FREE and short

This is really realistic anime actually, and it has deeper meaning to the plot. Characters development did not occur in great scale because it has only 12 episodes . The main focus is on emotions and relationship between people. It has a lots of mature scenes (at least 15+) which can relate to more mature audience. I dont think everyone can get this anime. Message is based on current problems in society.
Although plot is not creative, message behind is solid.
Animation is on point, so is art. Sound was good.
The real question is, why did i rate it 6/10, it is because ... it has ALOT of unnecessary scenes at least for me.
In the end i was very very disturbed by the realism, i could not sleep 2 hours constantly thinking about anime.

Spoiler free and short

First of all i had great expectations of this anime so maybe it is not so objective.
Individual episodes are good but all connected are non dynamic and no deeper plot than you can conclude watching first two episodes. I respect and get the message behind the plot but it cannot cover for it. What i meant is the plot have some contradictory points.

Main characters are, because of the plot, almost linear and I get it but, they could have added something to cover that part. I did not connect with anime on emotional level, but maybe i would if i ... was in similar situation like some episode based support characters.
Sound and ambient is really really nice and i did enjoy the atmosphere. Animation was on point.
Before watching this anime keep it in mind that it will stay simple and it will be based about people emotions.

My cousin made me watch this anime. I had no expectations. Honest short opinion is that if you want shallow plot with messed up dynamic of episodes, bad fight animations, almost no character development in opposition it is beautiful to eye, some nice scenes, few lovable characters, solid emotional roller coaster story it is for you.

First of all if you like mecha anime i highly recommend neon genesis. It has much much better plot and this is like bad version of it with all respect to creator.

As i said in prologue it has shallow plot which has no logic follow up. It had so much ... potential but it was wasted for nothing.

It has good drama/ romance elements i did not mind it at all but what i do mind is it feels more and more fake when you are close to the end. Referring to connection between main characters. It was like putting to much icing on already ruined cake.

I respect the idea and prettiness, and i liked zero two 3/4 of anime but unfortunately i do not recommend this one.

I will keep it short. I enjoyed this season, while they lack some elements from first one they improved others. It may be not tense as 3rd but games are still fun to watch.
Character development is in the first place and they did a solid job. New characters introduced, also new possible side story.

I did not like forever lasting matches from season before and they really improved that part. Characters who were avoided before got some spotlight and they did not stall.
Animation and music were still on point.
This is great, fun to watch sport anime. I recommend.
