Seeing many not-so-praising reviews of this show, I felt compelled to write a review, although it's something I rarely do.
You may call me biased, but I.LOVE.THIS.SHOW. It has, without a doubt, become of my favorite shows. This may be due to the fact that I'm a pretty hardcore Naruto-fan, but none the less, I really do believe this show deserves major credits.
Story
There's no real plot (although Orochimaru continuously tries to crush Konoha), but other than that, it's just Rock Lee (as the main character), hanging out with everyone else in the village.
It's a collection of smaller stories, and each one is absolutely hilarious. If I
...
find this due to the "small brains - small pleasures"-principal, I'll let remain unsaid, but the humour gets me every time.
I see many people complain about how it ruins the characters from the main show (Naruto), but I find it easy to separate the two. (Okay, I admit - on Naruto message boards, I like to consider Naruto SD canon, lol).
Art: 6/10
It's all chibi form, which makes it easy to distance the characters from the main show. Though admittedly, I do sometimes chuckle a little when I hear Neji, as I recall some scenes...
Sound: 10/10
Soundtrack is awesome. I actually love listening to it by itself. Really hoping there'll be a release of the latter half of the used tracks!
Character: 10/10
Characters are comical caricatures... with a twist.
Lee constantly making Neji cross-dressing, Tenten as pierrot, Gai being super-ultra Gai, Tsunade being even more focused on gambling and luck. Really, I love them! Neji may be a favourite, being over-protective of Hinata. Meet Team Taka, Akatsuki, Orochimaru and Kabuto ever so slightly different...
Enjoyment: 10/10
I enjoy this show immensely. I don't even know how many times I've watched/listened to the episodes. It's equally funny every time! I know many people in the more hardcore Naruto communities share my view upon it, even wishing its continuation more than that of the main show.
Overall: 10/10 (1010 = Tenten *PUN! badum-tisch*)
Saying "I LOVE THIS SHOW!" would really just be repeating myself... but I'll do it anyways.
I LOVE THIS SHOW. I listen to it all day long (but that is also part of my Japanese practice).
Do yourself the favor, especially if you're a Naruto-fan and like simple humor, and watch this show. I remember watching part of the very first episode and thinking "... nah", and half a year later randomly watching episode 40, thinking: "Oh my Gawd, what have I missed out on?! This show is awesome!". I literally laugh out loud - every time!
You may call me simple-minded... biased is okay, too.
Hope you found my review helpful.

I had a really hard time deciding how to rate this anime - not just because it consist of three different stories (having nothing to do with each other), but also because I just had mixed feelings.
Story: 9
All three stories were great, but seem to be part of the actual Japanese culture, so it wasn't something "new". Still very good though.
Art: 5
I was definitely not very impressed with the art in either of the stories (drawn differently!) The first wasn't special, though the scenes/backgrounds weren't fantastic in it, and I didn't really like the way people were drawn - they all looked mean and
...
scary (not everyone is mean in the story). Not a super-supernatural and odd coloured hair or the like. Much more realistic than many others.
Second story was as close to the average anime as we get. Wild hair, some with odd colours, but luckily no excess spark and gloss. More colorful than the first, and the people didn't all look mean :b More had been done to create scenes, but again, it's not something fantastic or outstanding.
Third story - let's just say I've never seen that kind of art before. There were so many colours and shapes that it was sometimes hard to distinguish between objects. A constant "layer" was in every scene - like it has been drawn on crumpled paper. It also often looked like it was just drawn in 2D - there isn't much depth in it.
One of the women looked a bit like a black person - big lips and skin more tanned than others'. Had I only seen a bit of the anime, I would have guessed it to be a comedy.
Though, I must say that the art was pretty good at the climax - the art did something to the action scenes.
Generally, I really don't know if I like it or not. It's very unique, but I think it's kinda odd.
Sound: 5
I don't even remember much of the soundtrack... I do believe though, that there were some scenes where the background music really made the mood.
Charachter: 5
I don't know... It's about 3-5 episodes to each story, so you don't really get to know a whole lot about the people, hence I don't have much to say.
The charachters in story 2 were somewhat interesting though...
Enjoyment: 7
I did enjoy the show a little after all. The stories were interesting because they seem be part of actual Japanese culture (correct me if I'm wrong).
The first story was gory, the second way more beautiful, more romantic, and the third was Mushishi-ish in plot. Not bad, and I would encourage people to take a look at it, as it is quite interesting, and maybe even more to others than to me.
I give it an overall on 7.

*SIGH* I had JUST finished my first review when my internet fails!
I usually don't get an urge to write reviews, but for this one I did!
First of, the story.
It's great! A real chick-anime! It's somewhere near as romantic as can get. The way it teases; it's a bit like a rollercoaster.
I really got caught up with it; so much that I needed to watch 20 episodes in one day! It's very, very funny too. I usually don't laugh out loud, but with this one, I did - more than once.
There's something for all of your feelings. Harm, anger, jealousy, happiness, sadness - you name it!
...
Simply great!
The art is typical anime. It's not super glossy and sparkling, which I very much appreciate. It's not as simply drawn as Mushishi (just to mention one), but neither an anime with big, thick eyelashes and eyes soaking in gloss, and hair in weird purple, green or blue colors. It's pretty average (= good thing!).
I really liked the music - especially the opening theme! The melody in the beginning of every episode also reminds you of Kotoko, almost instantly making you smile. I didn't pay too much attention to other music, I'll admit.
Oh yeah, I never got the beat of the outtro song, lol!
Neither art or music drags the overall score down.
The characters are FANTASTIC and are really carried through the entire show! I won't say too much about them as I think it could be a spoiler, so I'll just stop here ^___^ - GREAT!
Enjoyment, need I say it? I loved it! There are only a few downsides to it. I thought the ending was a bit weird, but it's not something that really bothers me. The only stopping me from giving it a 10... I'm not sure. I even forgot the bad things now that I listen to the opening song, but I know there are a few minor things - but I may change my mind, you know ^___^
Overall - perhaps the sweetest anime I've seen so far! (Not that I've watched many, but I think it tops Bokura ga Ita juuuuust a little.)
My advice: Watch it if you like a good portion of comedy and romance - or just a good story ^___^

First, the story: I love the story, maybe more than you normally would, as i wasn't very old when I first watched it, and it has therefore grown really big on me.
Anyways, it the good against the evil. It has humor, ACTION, some horror elements, sorrow and a tiny bit of love. It's all about helping each other, standing together and do your best, as in many other animes.
The thing that it is all about dogs makes it all the more interesting.
ART: Ok, I'll admit - the art is really not very good. Same scenes are used over and over - for example when the
...
dogs run. Also there are some technical flaws like the dogs' front legs when they run - they suddenly end up having both a shoulder, an elbow, the wrist and an extra joint! I.e. they've put a joint too much on them, but funny enough only when they run. It doesn't really have a great impact on the story, but it is just something that annoys me (being a dog-person).
There hasn't been paid much attention to detail. When seeing a mass of dogs, the only differences between them is often only color, and sometimes size, but of course it's hard to make every charater different.
Also, the colors of the dogs are odd, like in many other animes. Weird colors like blue and blood-red, and their color patterns are also often a bit off.
I really like the soundtrack! Lots of different music suitable for every situation. Well composed and makes you feel it deep inside you!
The chracters are... nothing special. We know how they each are and how they behave, but I don't think the focus is on the characters, other than perhaps just a few.
Despite the bad things, I have ALWAYS enjoyed this anime, wanting to be Daisuke and tried to train my old, fat Labrador like Silver/Gin, lol!
An all-time favorite for me because of the theme - dogs fighting bears with their life! A beautiful story STUFFED with action, feelings, courage - you name it!
Recommendable!!!

Very good story! Once I got started, I could hardly stop.
It is interesting to see the change the main character goes through, and it is a very interesting relationship she had to people around her.
At first, the story may seem confusing, but of course it all comes together as you get more and more into the story. You don't know more than Saya, which makes it easy to get as frustarated as her, making you want to find out which again makes you hang on to it.
I wasn't too impressed with the artwork, but it can be nice not to always look at the shiny,
...
wild colored hair and eyes.
As it isn't really a comical anime, it does contain comedy, but none of the well-known extreme anime drawings with chibi figures. This makes the story more "serious", and is certainly a plus!
The art isn't too detailed though, and it's nothing spectacular, but definitely NOT bad! Depends on preferance.
The soundtrack is good, and it's impressing how different the tracks are made, though it's based on the same three or four melodies. Very well composed.
The characters are very deep, and you can sort of predict how they will react to different situations as yo get to know them. Tthe chracters are also very different, and all in all well made.
It has a good length - doesn't get boring or drawn out. Once you finish the anime, it makes you sad because you really want it to continue!
It also has an open ending, making YOU the boss of what is going to happen in the future, which is very nice.
I can ONLY recommend this anime; both if you're a guy or a girl, into romance or action - it really has it all. An anime I couldn't get my eyes off once I got started!
