This story should have ended with the first volume (the first 6 chapters). It treated the subject of disabiity in a realistic and respectful manner, showed likable characters growing closer in a way that felt natural, and skillfully avoided problematic tropes.

I would recommended not reading past that point. Chapter 6 is where the story was originally meant to end, with just a bare hint that the characters would grow to develop romantic feelings. But because it was serialized in a BL magazine, the author was told to add more chapters and ramp up the romance content. From that point on, every scene feels forced. ...

The MC is a simp who spends all 12 episodes harrassing her romantic interest. That's it, that's the whole show. The girl who's being lusted after is treated like a prize to be won from beginning to end -- often literally, via dumb contests. None of the characters have any depth, and there isn't much of a story. It's all contrivances to force the target to stay in close proximity with her pursuer. This show is just as problematic as the genre it tries to parody. The premise is gross: some company sends magical creatures to coerce unwilling teenagers into dating, for the sake of increasing the birth rate in Japan. Yes, you read that right! Through blackmail, manipulation and contrivance, a group of teens get forced together so that the MC can be put through one otome trope after another. Some of the characters are annoying by design, and remain so throughout the show. The MC complains loudy about the situations she gets put into, but ultimately it all gets glossed over as she befriends the other ...
