Okay, so bear in mind that this review has been written with only 4 episodes out, so maybe by the end of the season I've changed my mind. So far, though, I have to say that everything about this first episode makes me think that Free!: Dive to the Future will be amazing, and exactly what the fans of the anime would expect (this is definitely a compliment) and had been hoping for.

Maybe this is just not for me, as I'm normally not a fan of these kind of animes (so keep that in mind when reading this review), but for all the praise Fate/Stay Night: UBW has received, I thought it was quite bland and overall disappointing.
The art is great, and the battle's animation is outstanding, that's undeniable; but I think the story leaves a lot to be desired and the characters are ultimately not that interesting. The first couple of episodes paint a very attractive picture of this fantasy world where heroes and mages exist and battle each other, but you never get to ...

This anime made me feel like nothing I've seen in a long, long time. I LOVED IT. Everything about it, I loved. Maybe because I'm 25 and sometimes it's just inevitable to relate to the main protagonist's life, problems and thoughts; but I thought this anime pulled at all the right strings and made me fall in love with the characters and their story. And, on top of that, made me re-think a lot of things about my own life and what I would do if I had the chance to re-live it.
