A great action anime, with a decent story and characters to boot.

The animation is flashy, even if it is a little rough occasionally. The character detail is generally pretty high, that being said the backgounds are not always all that good due to CG being used. Those are more nitpicks than anything the animation is very good, but could use work in some areas.

The characters are decently deep and lend themselves well to the story and atmosphere. The story itself isn't exceedingly original, but it is very well executed. The world building it decent and the plot intriguing. The pacing is also fairly ... gripping and easily keeps the viewers attention.

The voice acting is somewhat of a let down. It's fine, but not particularly noteworthy. I guess that's a dub for you. The soundtrack is pretty decent, but lacks some impact from time to time. The op is a little run of the mill. Not to say it's bad, it even fits the anime quite well. I just don't think it was very outside the box. I actually liked the ed more, even though it didn't match the tone of the show as well. Overall, I really enjoyed this anime.

The down sides are the background and cg, as well as the climax action scene falling a little short of some of the other scenes that I found more impressive. That plus the let down that was the voice acting. However, it's a very well rounded anime. It's premise is fairly typical, but it defies expectations in the execution of what would otherwise easily be a dull anime. I'm really looking forward to season 2, and hope to see this level of quality continue. 8.10/10 Dubbed

Overall a fairly polished anime, but also a very disappointing one. The animation has some flash to it surprisingly, it's pretty good and a pleasure to watch. The character detail can be a bit lacking at times, but overall it's exceptionally tidy. The backgrounds are really good and consistent to boot.

The story and characters start out fantastic. There's depth and intrigue, it's fairly dark and hits home. However, much to my disappointment, the latter epsiodes start to be more of the typical isekai cheese. Character development slows, and the characters around the main character lose most of the charm the previous characters had. The ... story also slows down quite a bit and loses the grit it began with, becoming rather typical and lackluster.

The voice acting was pretty much the same story, but dropped off pretty quickly. There was a character with fantastic voice acting in the first couple of episodes, but then it grew more average in terms of performance. It was still decently cast and not grating, but a little disappointing given how it started. The soundtrack is actually pretty decent as well, but gets a little cheesy towards the end. I love the op, but the ed is... weak. Not sure how else to say that, but weak is a good desciptor.

Overall, I'm pretty disappointed. What started out looking like high 7's to low 8's and a real hidden gem turned into a fairly mediocre isekai. Not bad, just not to the level of the intitial episodes. So it ends up being more of a high-ish 6. Sad days. I really don't think there is any coming back from this either. I don't see how they can reattain the intial grit they had given the direction the characters and story are heading.

The most average anime. Not laughably terrible, but flirting with that line. Underwhelming voice acting, check. Lifeless story and characters, check. Inoffensive at best animation, check. The word passable was whispered over the pacing of this anime, check.

Like what more do you want me to say? There were no giant plot holes, leaps forwards in character arcs out of nowhere, or any horrendous animation. Just, meh.

It be isekai with tiny twist. As if someone whispered "unique" in a jar and then smashed that jar on the ground. Just the slightest whiff of unique remains three days later. It's the typical isekai.... but tHiS ... tImE hE gEtS iSeKaIeD oUt Of oNe fAntaSy wOrLd JuSt To EnD uP iN yEt AnOtHeR fAnTaSy WoRlD!!! Man it must have took 3 whole seconds to come up with that twist. Lifeless, passionless, derivative, but yet not offensive in of itself. It's just the stench of yet another isekai that is offensive, the rest is just average. 4.95/10 Dubbed

What if VR MMO anime, but done with some amount of effort? Well, here you go. This is a pretty nice anime. The characters are fun and bounce well off each other, even if they don't have much depth. Similarly the story doesn't have much depth or bite to it, but it does a decent job of world building and lends itself well to the action/comedy tone. That being said I'm grading this more as an action anime than a comedy. The pacing is decent and keeps moving at a good pace, with the exception of the last two episodes which are rather slow.

You ... might be saying to yourself at this point that it sounds like kind of a meh anime, but those were the worst parts!

The animation is really good. While there is a little more cg than I would prefer, the characters and backgrounds are genuinely very nicely detailed. Not jaw dropping, but very nice. The real treat of this anime is the action scenes which while not the best I've seen, they are very good bordering on great at times. There are some really great scenes for Shonen fans. The voice acting for a dub is actually really good too. There is one grating character, but it's not too bad. Otherwise it's excellently cast, and has some good performaces. Not jaw dropping, but really strong. The soundtrack was a little underwhelming though. It had a couple of moments, but was otherwise pretty forgettable. I did however enjoy the ops and eds a good deal.

That all being said it's a pretty polished anime with a lot of fun moments and good action scenes. It's like if Shonen, but without trash tier pacing. 7.45/10 Dubbed

SO CLOSE TO AN 8!!! I had to talk myself down. It's really enjoyable, but if only the characters/story had a little more depth, or the soundtrack had a little more umph, it'd be in the 8 territory :(

A train wreck. There are some redeeming elements though. The character design can be pretting interesting at times, and the premise, although somewhat derivative, could lead to a good story. However, that is where anything good ends. The action scenes are occasionally almost semi-decent, but then we follow that up with cg characters and backgrounds. The character detail ranges from average to poor with limbs seeming to be difficult for them. That and figuring out how to make characters look like they weren't copied and pasted into the scene. The characters don't really develope overtime they just spontaneously do so. They really are not ... all that interesting of characters anyway, but there are some attempts at depth here and there. The story jumps around and just happens. No rising action or hint of direction. This happened, and then this, and then this, and then they're in love, and then this, and then the anime is over. Cool. The pacing gives you whiplash, but somehow the anime still manages to be boring. Voice acting is grating, poorly cast, and inauthentic. Soundtrack is decent, as it the ed, but they don't really leave an impression. Op is really out of place, but is okay. Really overall it's a mess. It appears to be a Kamisama Kiss clone at first, but really isn't. If it were it might be a little better. Bad, don't watch unless you want something to occasionally laugh at because it's so terrible it eventually becomes sort of impressive. 4.20/10 Dubbed

The problem with this anime it how good it could have been. A great soundtrack, great op and ed. The love interest is a fairly deep and interesting character. The premise is decent too! However, the animation is weak. Any significant movement is animated very poorly, cg background characters everywhere, and even the backgrounds themselves are cg at times. The voice acting is really underwhelming, lack luster to the point of it being distracting. Things don't come off as genuine, and the delivery is pretty poor overall, especially with the main character. Speaking of which the love interest is the only character with meaningful depth. ... The main character is slightly interesting due to being a good foil, but otherwise not incredibly deep or thought provoking. While the overall premise is good the execution is beyond cheesey at times, especially when they reuse the same track every five seconds. It's a great track, but give it a rest. Overall, it has it's moments, but it is ROUGH around the edges. There are worthwhile elements to this anime, but overall it lands as average because of the obvious lack of effort in animation and voice acting. 5.45/10 Dubbed

Overall, it's a semi-decent anime. The animation is simple, but good enough. Action is fine, but not super flashy. Characters and backgrounds are consistent, but not particularly of note. Characters are likable, but fairly shallow. Story is similar. While I like it, it's a little too simple with no real meat to it. The pacing is good, keeps you engaged. Voice acting is a little rough. It's not terrible and distractingly bad, but it's just a little off and unimpressive. Soundtrack was actually pretty interesting and a departure from most soundtracks of this genre, I quite enjoyed it. The op and ed were fine, kinda ... average. Honestly, I'd watch another season, and enjoyed it a fair amount. However, objectively it's no masterpiece and isn't the most polished anime by any means. 6.30/10 Dubbed

Alright overall, but kinda meh. The animation is pretty standard boiler plate stuff, but acceptable. The characters don't have a ton of depth, but are at least semi-fun. The story is fun and semi-unique, although a bit derivative in many regards. The pacing is enough to keep you interested in what it going on. Soundtrack was a bit sparse in the number of tracks, but was otherwise alright. The op and ed were pretty good though. I thought is was entertaining, but devoid of any real effort. Nothing was a highlight, and nothing was terrible. Well, that's not exactly true. Why are the the demons ... British? The British accents are of course terrible, but I'm more interested in why are they British? German? Austrailian? Canadian? No, they're British. Of course, why not. Anyways, kind of average, but okay overall. 5.80/10 Dubbed

Started out semi-interesting, but then the pacing took a nose dive and just became kind of a chore to get through after that. The action is pretty basic, the level detail in the characters and backgrounds too. The characters are lacking and so it the depth of the story. At least it had the common sense not to make it an isekai for no reason like every other anime of this genre. The pacing was insufferable after the first few episodes and really never recovered. The voice acting was pretty mid, not the worst, but really not very moving. The soundtrack was fine, but the ... scenes the tracks were used for were ill fitting and overall a bit cheesy. The op was alright, and I thought the ed was pretty good. Overall, I was a little disappointed by it all around. Immediately it was apparent that the animation wasn't going to be the highlight, but the pacing and story were interesting enough to hold my attention. That soon changed though and it just became a chore to get through. 5.35/10 Dubbed

Not by any means a masterpiece, but there are elements of it which I enjoyed. The actions scenes are surprisingly adequate, not great, but just kinda good. However, it stuggles to maintain any kind of detail or consistency in both drawing the characters or the backgrounds. The characters and story don't have an immense amount of depth, but enough to be enjoyable. Quite silly, and I personally quite enjoyed that. Pacing was decent, kept my attention, however the first "arc", if you can call it that, seemed a little rushed. The voice acting was fine. Not impressive, but not grating either. The soundtrack had a ... few good tracks that I enjoyed and the rest were kinda meh. The op and ed were good though. Overall, it's not a bad anime. However, it lacks in multiple areas such as the voice acting, animation detail, and a little more character/story depth that would have made this feel like a more polished anime. 6.45/10 Dubbed
