While they differ in the way they deliver their particular brand of comedy, and their premises are completely different, these two rom-coms share A LOT of DNA. Both these anime are meticulously directed—in their own strange ways—to illicit laughs, while hiding a surprisingly thoughtful dramatic side. Both series also share a continuing plotline where situations change and characters grow despite being comedies. While in Kodocha, you won't find the characters engaged in some over-the-top mental battle like in Kaguya-sama, the main pair do bump heads throughout the show as their personalities and beliefs clash.
