Sword Art Online, or SOA for short, is a story that will either hit or miss depending on the viewer. You might find yourself attached to this "World of Warcraft" type fantasy, or completely displeased and unrelated to the environment, settings, character thoughts, and overall story progress.
Being an avid games, ex WoW addict, I found myself very attached to the story, the characters were very relatable to what you would find in the online world, with a mixture of human nature in the face of crisis. I also found the second part of the story to be somewhat relatable, but I find too much
...
emphasis was put on part 2, for the sis-con audience, a marketing tactic of course.
Story:
I found the story to be very relatable. It's a little confusing in the first episodes, but once you get a grab on it, you're pretty much set for an emotion filled ride. I personally have been in certain positions different characters are placed in, so I had a personal relation to the story, therefore cannot be completely unbiased. And no I don't mean I've been locked in a game before lol!!!
Art/Sound:
The artwork and sound, in my opinion was very well made, in relations to the type of story plot it had. Although the music did not stand out to me, of what I can remember (and watched the series in a day, today) I was moved many times during the story, and of experience, music can have a grueling effect on our emotions, thus I have to assume that the music was quite well placed with the different events of the story. Since I found it to be a captivating anime, I found myself too involved to pick out things in particular.
Characters:
Most characters are well developed to their environment, others, not so much. Concentrating on the main characters in part one of the story, you will find certain characters out of context. Although, in part 2 of the story if you read between the lines, and understand certain problems different classes have (and yes! the rich have as many problems, if not more as the poor) you will understand other characters much better. But as in all anime, certain characters were typical copies of what sells, and others at certain times showed out of context emotions or reactions that sell in your typical anime.
Overall I loved this anime and I place it in my top 5 along with Elfen Lied, Da Cappo (orginal season), Clannad, and Usagi Drop.

~Yasuga no Sora~
Based on 6 episodes now watched, I felt it might be a good opportunity to warn new viewers on this episode.
I don't mean to say it is bad, but it is very misleading. At first glance, your automatic response is to assume that this will either be a sister/brother love story (since the lead towards that, including in the intro, during the first few episodes. Also you might think it's going to be a School Comedy, where the events will unfold during school, just like so many other ero/comedies.
So what is this then? Just an bunch of arcs. You'll have an ark
...
where our main character hariko will fall in love with all of them, while developing the involved character a lot during it's scenario then later on building on it.
It's quite sad though, since after episode 2 or 3, I thought that it would develop into a much better story line, and not cut it off in the middle all the time. Actually the only thing that follows some sort of time line is the little story at the end.
This is still a good anime, just ruined a little with making it a pure Ero, but it could have been worst. I feel this story had much more potential, and I think you will feel the same way as I do.
I'm not going to comment on art etc, since with today's technology, everyone feels differently. I am just going to say, don't be misled, it's not going to be a touching series.

They say not to write spoilers in a review, so I will not.
Clannad, Afterstory, or the previous series...
I can't understand anyone not having emotions watching this, it toys with your heart...
I did not love this story, I cried most of the time. It touched me.It is the most disgtingly beatiful story I have ever seen.
I had my first daughter adopted since I could not take care of her, this story tore me apart limb to limb.
...
A must watch....if i go any more in detail i will give spoilers.
PLEASE WATCH THIS STORY!, Cry, scream,
Mock this story and i will be in your face... don't have anything nice to say then shut up.

Episode #1 is out and here is the first review.
First of all I would like to talk about the plot. Right now it seems pretty simple if you read the synopsis of this anime, some dude (the main character) has to find 12 swords (makes me remember the old days of dragonball, then dragonball Z). Plot seems simple and staight forward, but I feel that we are in for a few twists.
Based on the fact that there seems to be only 12 episodes to be released, Katanagatari should have a lot of action in a 46 minute slot, and I have a feeling that a
...
lot of minor details, that could make this story a lot better might be left out.
The artwork is simple in this anime. I think that the animators were going more for the history and principles behind the animation series, rather than boost it up with special effects. So if you are looking for state of the art graphics, you will not find it in this series.
Sound effects, background music, and other sonar stimulants seem to be well adapted to the story. I will not comment much right now since it is too soon to really know.
The Characters are simple and seem to go back to the basics, but I feel that they will become very rich in the future as the story evolves.
I found this anime to be quite interesting, and I am looking forward to the next episodes to see what happens.
Thank You.

This series had potential behind it, except they went overboard.
The powers that the characters have are quite well thought of, the battles, although they've been seen 1000 times everywhere else, could have made for an interesting plot.
One major mistake, mixing some sort of power potion, with church, with breast milk... What could they have been thinking? Ok there have been other shows where powers had to b obtained by method of consummation, but what is this? Alexander, one of the main characters in the plot suddenly stops fighting, drinks from the nun's breast, and kicks the bad guys butt all the way back to
...
hell.... What are you taking when writing (or drawing, or editing, or replaying, etc., etc., etc.,) this anime before actually taking it to the TV Lineup Executives.
And on that note, what did the TV Station think when they saw this show, did they even see it, could they not think the same think as everyone else is thinking?
Interesting.....
Well it must be to get the ultimate pervert audience so that they can sell Adult Oriented Stuff on TV during commercial breaks.
Well so unless your into a show that just has big breasts, some sort of recycled plot, and makes very little or no sense, then you will enjoy this show.
The rest of you stay clear of this show!
