I'll make this too short and very sweet just like this show.
I was hesitant to watch this show as I personally am not a huge fan of family slice of life's especially revolving around siblings. I myself am an only child and the concept of anything brotherly or sisterly is a mystery to me and thus I find I cant connect with the characters as one usually would in a slice of life or to 'see themselves'. So when this show stumbled upon me I instantly fell in love with the art and animation though didn't have high hopes for actually liking the show as
...
I believed it only revolved a family of orphaned boys making it through life's struggles as siblings. However this show managed to make even my lonely only child self feel that sibling connection and the warmth they had through their interactions.
My belief was correct that the shows premise is revolved around this family of four boys who had lost both parents at the same time tragically but it also shows many other aspects that aren't just sad depressing themes about their deaths. This show presented us with the points of view of every brother and their struggles to be there for their other siblings to make everyone's lives easier and happy. It gave us a glimpse at neighbors coming together, an older sibling feeling more like a mom then what every other 23/24 year old feels like, a first grader wanting to grow up so he can help his older brothers be less stressed. There's moments in this show that had me crying with them and others where I laughed along at their funny pranks on one another but most of all I connected in so many different ways with each ones unique stories. Though I have never felt the struggle of a sibling going to the same school as me, or being put in charge of watching annoying younger siblings I still enjoyed every moment I got to see this adorable family connect and grow. The story is great in making you feel this way and though it has some slow parts it overall left me happy that I spent my time giving it a try instead of feeling disappointed or dropping it.
Overall I gave the show a 7, premiering in a season plagued by so many big names it cant even compete against them like frieren, apothecary diaries or undead unluck but this show is so different from them. Its animation is one of the best I've seen in this season (personal taste), the story was slow yet perfect for a slice of life and the characters were great to connect with. Though it was swept away in the shadows of the major shows this season I promise its worth a try. This is the type of show you'll never recommend to anyone yet you will look back fondly on in a year or two. It is simply a good show, nothing more nothing less.

This show is one of those great shows that gets buried by other big shows of the season. And with each episode being less then 2 minutes its SUPER easy to watch these cute shorts but totally hard to write a review without spoiling so i'll make it quick~
Story 9/10- To me this perfectly shows the relationship between owning a cat, and dog no matter if youve had both at the same time as our main character does. The cats attitude fits the cliché while also being accurate (to me) as a cat and the dog of course is the lovable excited small dog everyone's
...
met at least once.
Art 7/10- The art style is really cute but obviously comparing it to other shows its not 'high quality'. Super adorable depictions of them though and gets the point across.
Sound 10/10- The voice acting makes this show perfect, having the cute high pitched anime girl voice for the dog and then having a deep villainous voice for the cat is perfect. And our main character perfectly shows real emotions like baby talk and also being scared your cat will murder you if thats an emotion.
Character 9/10- All the characters are loveable and easy to understand, even the side characters we meet for some episodes are some of my favorite (looking at you taxi man)
Enjoyment 10/10- For quick 2 minute episodes this show has brought so much joy to me. Losing both my pets in the last year made 2020 really suck even more but this show reminded me of all the laughs and fun being a pet owner brings. While also making my heart squeeze and bawling my eyes out.
Overall 8/10- Ive pretty much said all the reasons i love it above. Id recommend it of course and its easy to fit one in and watch while you wait for your popcorn to finish popping and then getting back to that one anime youre binging. For being quick shorts it hard to sit here and say whats bad and good because there isnt as much content as a normal anime. Which is exactly why you should watch it.
Whats the worst that can happen you waste 20 minutes on an entire series about pets while also getting a cute ed and even cuter story? So stop reading and just watch an episode and decide for yourself cause its worth it.

First a simplified version of the plot (will exclude plot holes for the time being). This show is about a virus that kills any humans above the age of 13 because of this most of humanity is wiped out but guess what vampires exist now and since its only kids left they are gathering everyone up to eat them but the humans dont like that so a bunch of children under the age of 13 create a army. But not just any army, an army full of people who let themselves get possessed by a demon so they can kill vampires easier than without a
...
demon....
The plot alone is a huge mess full of holes that are never fixed or answered or simply cause more holes to appear. Our main characters are two boys who lose their orphan family and end up joining different sides. That part i guess makes sense but then the fact that time goes on at most id say 8 years (because we see side characters call our main cast kids still so they must be under the age of 18 and at most when the virus hit were 13) and their are full grown adults who have survived???? Whats the point of saying the virus killed anyone under the age of 13 when you have characters in your main cast that are 24... even if 8 years went by they wouldve been 16 when the virus hit???? But besides that major plot hole let me explain the scoring...
STORY: 4
as said before the plot is a mess but so is the writing and story because of that. The shows new surprises arise that just dont make sense and yet everyone is focused on the only solid plot of the story and thats the fact that humans wanna kill vampires and vice versa. You have literal demons inside you and you have some people still die from one stab wound, while the main characters can survive literal explosions and multiple life threatening injuries and even come back from being dead??? How balanced is that? Every character and soilder in the army has a demon in them why are some so op and others weaker then dwayne the rock johnson.
ART: 8
The art style and use of lights and colors in fights is beautiful to me, some of the character designs are kinda a drag but overall really nice. I love the conflicting white vs black between the vampires and humans makes it easy to follow the confusing story and the backgrounds for these destroyed towns are wonderful. Good job art depart yall carried this show.
SOUND: 2
I can specifically remember a time when birds where on screen flying around doing bird stuff and they sounded so awful and bad i literally had to pause to make sure it wasnt my headphones dying. It hurt my ears and made me skip scenes because of it. The opening as well is pretty annoying and doesnt fit the theme of the show at all music wise, although the second one is atleast some what enjoyable. The voice acting is whats saving this from being a 1 because in times of struggle or when they are literally dying they do an okay job at expressing that.
CHARACTER: 9
Though the main character (Yu) can be annoying at times he is very understandable and we are made to feel his actions are justified. Along with him Mikaela is to me a super great character because we get to see a roller coaster of emotions through him and we see both sides because of them. The villain is a pretty shitty excuse for a villain and im not even sure if im right about who the villain is because of the horrible ending but anyway besides that all the characters are pretty enjoyable and you bond quickly to them. Everyone can find someone to love.
ENJOYMENT: 5
Though its a mess it was somewhat of an enjoyable mess. I continued watching because of the characters and how i wanted to see them grow, i could care less about the ending fights or the plot twist. Id recommend it to someone who may be new to anime and wants an action packed show.
OVERALL: 5
Its your average action show, though many other reviews state its a vampire version of attack on titan i can say ive never seen attack on titan so idk if it really is lol. To me its your basic bad guys vs good guys but the good guys are friends with the bad guys but only some of them and everyone is actually really evil cause everyone's selfish and humans are shit. Thats all i got from this show, that and all the great characters that are going to make me watch the second season to make sure they survive.

When i heard trigger had made a new anime i couldn't resist giving it a try, the animation style and opening alone where enough to convince me to watch it. Id recommend this to anyone who wants a quick fast paced show with amazing animation and music, who isnt looking for a show that truly amazes you with every twist and turn, because that isnt this show.
Right off the bat in the first episode it throws you into the story and builds the world up around you at a quick pace but one that fits the pace of the rest of the show. The world
...
itself is beautiful, action packed, unique creation and personally its one of my favorite worlds ive seen created. The basis that this species known as beastmen have been moved to their own city to peacefully live away from the humans who hate them, but are now given a city they can be themselves without the constant fear from humans is amazing. The set up of the political system is this city makes sense and is easy to understand because we are quickly but simply introduced to all of their rules and the way life is in the first few episodes. We are also introduced to characters that are instantly lovable...why? Because they are all the typical stereotypes so everyone can find something they like, but i dont see this as a good thing especially in this world. Dont get me wrong its not bad to have every stereotype character you can dream of but this makes the story line very predictable and any 'omg i didn't see that coming' moments are pointless if you've ever watched any anime before. But does the disappointing character growth and writing, the poor writing, or the attempt to shove every political problem into the show make it unwatchable? No. And i'll tell you why.
Story: 5
I give trigger credit for creating such a unique creative storyline that in theory was amazing. In execution every episode comes off as a different branch trying to show a political issue to relate to the real world. The characters make the story predictable and I was never once amazed by a new development or twist in the story. So just average story.
Art: 9
Trigger never disappoints with their art and animation and this is no exception. Every scene is filled with beautiful lighting, amazing detail and their character designs are truly wonderful. (Also they managed to make almost every male character incredibly attractive, thanks trigger for making me question if im a furry by being attracted to them). The effort the animators put into this shines through brightly and deserves a round of applause, they majorly saved this show through their fight sequences, use of colors, and textures.
Sound: 8
Just like triggers animation their music is no disappointment either, from the opening to the ending as well as cute background music it all fits perfectly. No complaints here.
Character: 4
If you like the pop idol stereotype, edgy main male character that has a deep voice and kicks ass with a sad backstory stereotype, creepy old guy stereotype well guess what..THIS SHOW HAS ALL OF THOSE AND LITERALLY EVERY OTHER STEREOTYPE YOU CAN IMAGINE! and that fact hurts the show more then it helps. They are the ones that make the story easily predictable and ruins scenes that are meant to be playful banter with boring responses and almost every character here has some type of emotional baggage that makes them unable to see the true answer to all of their problems that anyone in the audience with anime experience can see from the beginning! Not to mention the voice acting is just meh.
Enjoyment: 6
Did i binge it all in one day? Yes but was that for enjoyment or just to have background noise i cant tell ya. The side story episodes are some of the most enjoyable and made it so i couldnt look away.As for the main story episodes they became more and more dull as our main characters couldn't figure out the answer. (and the last few episodes reminds me of another poor ending trigger has had a hand in working on....)
Overall: 6
The characters are the worst part of the show, not because they have bad writing but because they are stereotypical and easy to read. But the art for the fights, the music from cute little coffee shop music to fighting sequence music is truly fantastic. Whilst working on cleaning during this quarantine I had this on and every time i heard good music or bright colors out of the corner of my eyes i was never dissapointed by the art. The main character is lovable and relatable as all mc's typically are, and we are introduced to a story line that kinda makes sense? Its a very predictable show but that doesn't make it terrible, i truly enjoyed the cute side stories and seeing our main character unwilling to change even in the face of adversary and sticking to her cliche ways was actually very refreshing to see. Id recommend this to anyone who wants a quick fast paced show, who isnt looking for a show to become obsessed with.

Personally I love this show because not only is it just a sports anime but its a super inspiring one for anyone no matter your level of interest in running or track and field. There are points in the show that I truly applauded and cheered them on while slapping my desk telling them to keep going, sounds dumb right, but thats the power this show has. There were points i cried with them, laughed with them and most importantly wanted to pet the dog with them. I admit the show has flaws which i'll explain in detail below. Also if you're a fan
...
of sports anime especially shows like haikyuu these two shows share the same studio and lets not lie to ourselves kageyama and kakeru are twins. Another important note is this show has AMAZING voice acting because everyone in this show truly sounds like they are in the middle of running and pushing themselves to the limit while giving the most inspiring inner monologue ever. It has relatable characters no matter what level of experience you have with running, theirs a character that you can relate to i bet. And most importantly the thing that sets this show apart from any other sports anime is it touches on very real problems in the world of sports and just in general. From racism, lack of support, as well as the struggles every college kids go through when facing their final year of college. Run with the wind is a unique story that inspired me and i bet anyone else who has watched it in some way and id recommend it to anyone who has an intrest in the synopsis. But at the same time if you are looking for a sports anime that has alot of yaoi vibes and making you wonder if they are all secretly gay or properly shows off an amateur track team try to reach their goals of running in a championship relay then this might not be for you lol

Now for more detailed reviewing. Does this show have good cgi? heck no its terrible and ruined shots, there were times i paused the show just to stare at the cgi and judge it because it doesnt blend well with the normal animation style and they use the same 4 cgi models for everything in crowd shots. Are all the characters amazing and perfectly written loveable people? heck no theres characters i question why they are there or if they will ever have some development to make me like them and these characters can ruin scenes and moments. Do they properly show a realistic group of amateurs practice to increase their times? HECK NO.
But does the show inspire you to also join in with all of them in their adventure to race in the Hakone Ekiden and show you the real struggles these college men go through in order to reach that and show the raw good and bad in their struggle to reach that goal? Yes and not only that but they do it well. This show has the best character development ive seen recently and they show it well and at moments when we need to know their back stories or the truth in how they feel in that moment.
In high school I was on the track team as well and eventually had to quit due to a leg injury so maybe part of me was living through Haiji as i watched him struggle with his injury and the goal he wanted to accomplish in his final year of college with everyone. And i got to see the side of running competitively i missed through watching the show with him in it. But either way this show has powerful points that make you cheer for the characters weather you hate them or love them because you see all they have gone through to reach small points in their goal and ultimately find yourself asking "why do they run?" with each of them!
