Thoughts on the Jujutsu Kaisen Movie Dubbed.
Ofcourse god tier animation, mappa is goated, sakuga and cum all over the place during the fight scenes. Don't think I need to get into how great the animation is. Its great... Really.
Way to many flashbacks. Movie is like an hour and 30 mins long and way to much of it is spent on flashbacks. One of the things i really loved about the jujutsu kaisen anime was its pace. It was pretty fast and didn't seem to feel the need to treat its viewers as children who couldn't keep up especially in this current gen when we can
...
literally go back and look back at every little detail on our phone or something if we ever needed to. Naruto and one piece needed flashbacks because its all being watched on a tv on a schedule you have no idea if anyone is just jumping into the show mid season or whatever but JJK understands in todays enviornment thats just unnessary. So why in a movie less than 2 hours long do we need like 10 different flashbacks?
the dub was pretty bad in spots. I would have to say that majority has to go to the main character YUTA and RIKA. I was getting cringy shinji ikari type vibes from the character and in the theatre i was watching it someone LITERALLY in a row away said "dude is basically shinji..." and another thing was how much the theatre was LAUGHING at alot of the dialogue. The scene where rika is hit by a car and someone says "call an ambulance... no call a coroner..." like i don't know if it was intentional but that entire scene the theatre was legit just busting a gut like what the fuck. Also the "will you marry me." scene was pretty cringe striaght from the get go. Its one of the first scenes that shows in the movie to and immediately when i saw it i knew i made the mistake of watching it dub.
Mugen train isn't a perfect movie by any stretch of the imagination. but man watching JJKzero has made me appreciate something mugen train had that i thought was commen sense and that is sense of finality. Something thats not really talked about is the dialogue and demeanor between rengoku and akaza. Theres this air of finality. WE know, Tanjiro knows, Rengoku and Akaza knows, that this is the final battle. not because of them saying "i'll kill you..." or "THIS IS IT..." Its because of effective storytelling. Something that feels more like a "jujutsu kaisen." problem and not a "studio mappa" problem.
Rengoku vs Akaza we see limbs get cut off, we see rengoku out of breath, panting trying to muster as much strength as possible, we see blood.... alot of blood. We feel the tension in knowing that this is a strong opponent not because of "his rank" or "special grade," but because we SEE how powerful he is by making rengoku work. JJK feels like the total opposite by having both parties look pretty much fine through out the entire fight... no visible or verbal cues to indicate if either them even broke a sweat. Why should i care about a fight if both parties look absolutely fine despite landing tremondous blows on one another.
When i saw Mugen Train I told my friends it was pretty mid-above average movie but really good anime movie... 7.5-8/10... and my friends went wild telling me this was a 12/10.
the honeymoon phase is over and most will agree that mugen train was a great experience but overall lacking and i think the same will happen to JJK. Its very rushed, bad dub, best moments were when nothing about the build up of the plot was happening (maki x yuta moments or fight scenes that involved the main characters. the fight scenes for all the none movie main characters were essentally filler padding or fan service really.)
Disappointed actually that i paid $13 to watch this when i feel like i could've been just as satisfied watching the fighting compilaiton + read the plot on its wiki page.

Damn, People will give anything an 8 these days.
Like seriously one of the top reviewers gave this show a 10 but then i look at their list and gave shows like tonari no kaibutsu kun, ano hana, and steins gate a 6.
Anyways onto the review.
Hajimete no Gal.....
Its bad don't watch it.
OK THANKS FOR TUNING IN AND SEE YA NEXT YEAR :D.
Alright seriously speaking Hajimete no Gal is Can be summed up in one single word… Average.
...
It’s the story of another Beta Cuck MC protag getting the chance of the lifetime by dating the most beautiful, popular, Boobiest girl in his class. The catch this time is that the girl is a Gyaru/Gal which is a slang term that originated from a 1970s brand of jeans called "gurls", with the advertising slogan: "I can't live without men", and was applied to fashion- and peer-conscious girls in their teens and early twenties. Essentially they are females that focus a lot on fashion and are usually stereotyped to be floozies. Yame-San, The main female and gal of the show, is actually extremely pure hearted and despite being a gal is a nice and kind person.
The story just follows MC (can’t even remember his name, he is literally that boring) and Yame as they try to establish some sort of relationship where MC asks Yame out in the hopes that he might get laid (but later actually develops feelings for her) and Yame who teases MC (but seems to be pretty smitten by him because he’s so… nice?!?!? It’s never explained why she likes him or even agrees to go out with him. The show mainly serves itself as a comedy but it’s certainly being out paced this season by Aho Girl, Tsurezure Children, and Gamers!
The Art is pretty bright kinda reminding me of oshiete galko chan but studio NAZ is only known for one other anime which is Hamatora (which was pretty damn awful but atleast was kinda nice to look at) The girls look good because that’s how this show primarily plans on making money and it shows that’s where a lot of the focus has gone. The animation can drag at someplaces and sometimes will look pretty bad but never unbearable. Backgrounds and other characters are extremely generic with the MC looking the plainest of all.
Characters: ahhhh the “make or break” section of any romcom with a generic plot line.
The characters suck. The male characters are literally carbon copies of the main cast of prison school. Like I would be willing to wager prison school creator could sue the mangaka of Hajimete no gal because the characters operate exactly like how the crew in prison school works. Getting that out of the way it’s the very truth that MC’s friends carry the show. The glasses guy (gakuto wannabe from Prison school) single handily owns the shows humor in terms of delivery and direction. The girls really just play the role of fap material just about every time they were on screen.
MC is slowly building a harem and which ofcourse includes the class president and the childhood friend, aka the two most generic female discount characters the creator could think of.
There is one more character and that is Yame’s Gal Friend, Ranko.
Ranko actually looks and sounds like a gal unlike all the other girls in the show and in all honesty it would’ve been more fun and interesting if she was the main character instead of Yame.
Overall I would say that it’s the most average of shows airing this season by not being to awful but not having anything to make it stand out in comparison to the countless other romcoms out there.
But what do I know. If I don’t give the show a score of 7 or higher than people will just spam my inbox and call me a hater.

Koi to Uso AKA Love and Lies
The product of bad writing. That really does sum it up. Someone had a pretty good idea for a manga but had the logic and thought processing of an elementary student.
The society has low birth rates so in order to stimulate the population the government decided to enforce a law where arranged marriage is mandatory for everyone at the age of 16.
The main character is Yukari AKA Beta Male nice guy #45608 AKA the self insert AKA the Target Audience AKA YOU. In Elementary school he was sitting next to a cute girl
...
and she needed an eraser... he had one of those big erasers that are for really big mistakes and broke it in half and give a piece to her. She said thank you to him and ever since then Yukari has been in love with this girl...
5 YEARS LATER he is still going to the same school as the girl, but has never talked to her since. He still holds on to the eraser in this little box as if it was an engagement ring. He is a day away from turning 16 so he decides to confess to the girl. The girl's name is Misaki. He asks Misaki to meet him at a park at 6pm... He waits there until 11:30 pm and she shows up. He confesses and she confesses that she to was in love with him since the "Eraser Incident" (ahhh no wonder this is so popular... Otaku Wish Fullfilment... low effort romances since actual dating and relationship building is to much of a task so hopeful stalking is the only way to "fall in love")
Then she suggests they kiss.
Holy fuck the animation literally went from pre2010 studio deen animation to borderline MAPPA level animation JUST for that kiss. I almost thought I was watching a totally different show for a sec (cough Scum's Wish cough)
Ah but it couldn't last. It is now midnight and Yukari is now 16 years old. Right on the dot two government employees show up and give Yukari his marriage arrangement person. Like im talking these employees just came out of nowhere to an abandoned park to give Yukari is notification that he was marrying someone else.
This first episode is the product of bad writing.
Theres currently 120 chapters and what seems to be no end in sight. so you anime only folks can expect an open ending.
If you liked the wishy washy nature of Nisekoi then this will be right up your alley.

This show is like one of those poorly animated "other world" hentais.... with out the porn... there are LITERALLY thousands of other anime that you could be watching that are better than this show.
THERE IS NO STORY....
dude wakes up in another world and learns he is borderline Jesus with the ability to do just about anything through magic and has god on his cellphone. 2 episodes in and he only used his phone to look up how to make ice cream and taking a picture of a girl while she was sleeping...
but people will still watch it and will pick up the LNs and
...
Figures.
The animation is REALLY bad... 10 years ago shows like Baccano, Gurren Lagaan, Death Note, and Code Geass had just came out but this show looks worse than school days.

Honest to god don't know how this manga is so positively reviewed. I enjoyed Aku no Hana, i enjoyed Sundome, i enjoyed Forget Me Not but this manga was an absolute travesty.
This is literally 90 chapters of the MC wondering why the girl next door is masturbating to him having sex with his girlfriend, her literally saying i love you, you make me wet, i want you... and then when she moves out
hes on the floor crying " I LOVED YOU MAIN HEROINE..."
:v
The following 20 chapters are the tragic background story of the main heroine that we didn't get until
...
now. Thats right we spent 90 chapters with a girl that we know absolutely nothing about, no hints, no nothing. :D
The whole theme of the manga is "to show your true self" but ironically enough we don't learn a single thing about the main heroine until an info dump in the early 100s.
The manga is is only 117 chapters long.
The sex the MC has with his girlfriends are pleasurable to look at and his 2nd girlfriend is treated like trash as the MC wonders if he likes his girlfriend or likes the all to convenient female next door that masturbates to his presence.
I should've known that the manga wasn't for me from the start...
literally every relationship is initiated by the female meeting the MC and instantly wanting to fuck him. The MC is so wishy washy that whenever he sticks his penis into a female he instantly just forgets everything around him and instantly "loves" them.
The word love is thrown around alot in this manga. Meet a girl and bang her up for a night is an act of love. Finger the girl next door in a closet while you watch your friends have sex is an act of love.
I was literally reading this manga just to see if it ended like sundome... with the MC getting cucked... that would've been a fucking troll as fuck ending but instead we get a final volume that has like 60 pages of forplay talk.... like im talking just kissing and talking... for DAMN NEAR 60 PAGES.
and then a time skip because we needed to fill more pages with more needless exposition. And then it ends... no grand finale or anything... it just sorta ends...
Point me to a manga that has a dude beating his meat to a girl by watching her have sex with her boyfriend and find that "romantic" and give it 10/10 - 9.5/10 ratings and maybe i will update this review... but for now... This manga is a waste of time :D

I don't believe in perfection.
i just about spent an hour typing and deleting a mini review for the movie i just watched called "your name"
I can't write a review for it as the movie transcends my linear way of thinking and forces me to come to terms with forms and concepts of love that i never even took notice of.
Storytelling in its root hints at a fundamental human unease, hints at human imperfection. Where there is perfection there is no story to tell.
Of course there were minute flaws in the movie but those flaws are the very thing that seem to be the
...
icing on the cake for me. The imperfections are what is most relatable to me as a boring, timid, imperfect being.
So here is my review.
I watched Kimi no Na Wa...... and it was perfect.

When you take bananas, macaronni and cheese, pizza, pinnapples, yogurt, carrots, and some jamaican patties put it all into a blender, what would you expect it to taste like.... well if your any person with a normal tastebud then you would say like shit yet this is what this anime blatanly does; Ladies and gents welcome to the anime called Dansai Bunri no Crime Edge other wise known as the severing and dismembering crime edge.
Kiri Haimura is a seemingly ordinary boy with one slight problem: he is obsessed with cutting other people's hair. One day he meets Iwai Mushanokōji, the "Hair Queen" who cannot
...
cut her hair because of an inherited curse. Kiri finds out that his scissor, "Dansai Bunri no Crime Edge" is the only thing that can cut them. But little did he know that their meeting sparked the start of an old murder game to kill the "Hair Queen" using the cursed killing tools, the "Killing Goods"
This show feels alot like a mix between shakugan no shana, fate stay night, and mirai nikki but adds in its own twist with its obsession with "hair." Yes the hair is everything in this anime, the main character has an obsession with cutting "hair", the female protag is a shy loli with uncuttable "hair" however the male protag is able to cut this hair with scissors which he also uses to kill his enemies.... UNSANITARY
story(5) its really nothing new after the rise of the hunger games it seems like i've been seeing alot more death match styled animes for some reason from mirai nikki to higashi no eden, to fate Zero. There is a fundamental difference however to this style of "death Match" as everyone wants to kill "THE HAIR QUEEN" or in other words there is a focal point which makes this anime more like a good versus bad since the main protagonist is the "protector" while everyone else is an "aggressor."
Art (6) Decent artwork is done here buy studio Gokumi which isn't really well known for any other anime other than A-channel.... This is defintily a step up but there are very obvious cuts that are made such as the moments when there is about to be a fight scene the screen fades to a grey meaning there is no other color except for this gray hue that fills the screen which gets very annoying, its a very direct way of saying "HEY A FIGHT SCENE LOOK HERE"
Sound (7) soundtrack is probably the best thing about this anime as it has a very well done opening and ending as well as some good soundtracks sprinkled here and there. Nothing however was groundbreaking or blew me away. The voice acting is... okay feels like im watching an old shounen anime, something along the lines of inuyasha with devious character lines and laughter with the main character spending alot of time yelling, screaming, or screeching for more power.
characters (3) -sigh- A miss for me the characters are plastic and have no life to me, they feel like they've been taken out of other notable anime and simply injected into the storyline to fit there needs. Male protag is as generic as generic goes, hes one of those hero types who acts super normal and super bland but then action scenes start, snip snapadoodle he's a cutting machine able to take down legions of fellows just for the sake of being awesome. Main female protag (notice how im not using any names in this review) is simply a loli that plays the princess peach role I swear half of the seyuu's role is to cry out the male protags name 'KIRI-KUN" and sound like she's crying, she cries during every fight scene, looks at the stars like a good little girl, super wishful and kinda strong willed when the male protag gets hurt saying things like "YOU HURT KIRI-KUN I WILL NEVER FORGIVE YOU.)
Enjoyment(5) this shows is trying on to many different masks and doesn't know which one suits it the best as it goes for death match, romance, slice of life, comedy, with horror, fantasy, and mysterious elements. Its just trying to balance way to many things for a relatively new studio like Studio Gokumi to handle. Most of the enjoyable moments for me was when the girl's hair is being cut as i know that at this very second there are people watching this using it as masturbation material as the scenes which the girls hair is getting cut is highly sexualized and romanticized like to the point where you think the characters are about to bust a load if Kiri-kun takes one more snip of hair.
Overall (5) this is what i feel is a BAD anime that just tries on to many different things all at the same time without having an objective of what it wants to be.
This anime is nothing special and ultimately was destined to fail even prior to the release of its 3rd episode as it was imminent that the staff couldn't focus on a goal for this show.

So this show reaffirms my theory that Kyoto animation just can't produce two back to back animes that are truly entertaining and doesn't have to rely heavily on there animation and production skills (because seriously what else do they do consistently) to sell anime. *sigh* Welcome to Tamako Market a show about a young girl who loves to make mocchi.... and...
thats it. Depending if you enjoy watching cute girls do cute things, such as girls making a band buy spending 10 out of the 12 episodes eating cake and drinking tea then you will enjoy this anime alot.... you poor, poor soul you.
Story: (3)
Finding
...
an actual story in a show like this is pretty rare these days as anime that has the ever so popular "moe" aspect in them, basically kicks Story to the curb, I mean who needs a show with a story right. Tamako is a young girl who loves to make mocchi and meets a talking bird calls dera who is on a mission to find the bride of his prince from his country. Kinda cool concept when you think about it, meeting different girls and trying to find which one is the perfect girl for your friend but thats barely looked into until like the last 2-3 episodes. The episodes prior to the last 2-3 episodes are basically slice of life moments of seeing tamako and her friends work around a market making mocchi and doing all sorts of things ranging from a mocchi making contest and making valentine mocchi. Stuff of pure legend right here.
Art (8)
When talking about Kyoto animation and there art its really really hard not to have high expectations due to there previous works always having to rely on their art work to make their money (think im joking just look at Little Busters... oh you don't know little busters well thats my point since they didn't produce that anime which was done by J.C. staff; but you would think that if key visuals anime were sooooo good then it wouldn't matter if the animation was a little off at times.)
Tamako Market animation is really nice and fluffy but thats about it they look like they rehashed alot of the character designs from hyouka and K-on to make this anime as well so if you watched those two anime before you will notice that alot of the characters look alike.
Sound (8)
Another field where Kyoto Animation works hard to excel as they basically live off the motto "if the story don't move them to tears, these soundtracks sure as hell will," and it must be said that they do have a plethora of music that wouldn't be recognized by the common audience so i applaud Kyo-ani for that.
Voice acting is done pretty well and im not gonna lie i really did like Kanna's voice which was done by a relatively new VA so whoop whoop to that.
Also another person note worthy of being mentioned is Mister Takumi Yamazi AKA Kayneth Archibald El-Melloi (Fate/Zero) thats right folks the big man actually plays as Dera-chan and he does an epic job at sounding super pretentious all the time. love this guy
Character(5)
I put a 5 because really the characters aren't to great i know that this show is a moe slice of life half comedy type thing but after watching hyouka and chuunibyou demo koi ga shitai (which i would recommend more than this show) Its really no excuse to have such bland characters when they had relatively good ones in those two shows named. Tamako is happy go lucky alllllllllll the time and every other character is bascially a different type of "cute" with a different name, examples: Kanna (irregular cute), Midori (energetic cute), shiori (shy cute), Anko (rebellious lil sister cute)
Really all the girls in this show are cute in one way or another and i know its supposed to be that way but its hard to define these girls without using the word cute and a word describing there niche such as being shy or energetic.
Enjoyment (6)
My enjoyment fluctuated between episodes as some episodes were just flat out boring especially when it focused more on Tamako (i mean really its her show but nearly all the support and side characters are more interesting and fun to watch.) I genuilly hoped that the plot moved faster and that it kinda became a love showdown and become a classic game of who gets the girl but alas Kyo-Ani doesn't seem to want to instill romance in an anime for no more than once a year (guess there saving there romance points for fall season :p)
Overall (6)
Okay anime, not going to be remembered for anything for years to come as it will most likely be labeled as another moe anime but your free to try it if your into watching girls sit around making mocchi and eating moochi.

As you might recall i first wrote a review on this anime when the first 6 episodes were the only ones available and in that time the entire show changed from what i thought would be a contender for top 8 anime of the year to the endless abiss of "meh" where all anime have a component that makes it stand out yet cant break apart from its cliche enough to be deemed "unique". So i will start this review the same intro as the review when there was only 6 episodes and all parts that is in CAPS are the edited parts after finishing
...
the anime to give contrast on how stagnant this anime becomes.
You must die to live.
Words that have been used time and time again in many plays originating in Shakespeare Romeo and Juliet and Much ado about nothing. Sankarea takes that simple quote to a whole new level. Sankarea is the story of Furuya who loves zombies, wait right there before you think this is just another high school of the dead otaku filled anime cuz if you think so then your very wrong.
Sanka is a girl that lives a luxorious lifestyle and is an idol in and out of the classroom but she keeps a secret with her. During her birthday each year she takes a picture fully nude which is done in secret by her father originally she felt contempt and happy with this as a young girl but into her adolescent year she started to think it was rather strange. Her father also is seen as over protective in which everyone she had a relationship with would either be fired or for mysterious reasons have to quit there job. Sanka realized that her father was manipulating other people in order to keep his baby girl all to hisself. Eventually Sanka started to sneak from home to an abandon building where she meets Zombie lover Furuya. Furuya is there trying to revive a cat that recently died and sanka asks if he succeeds would he take resurrect her if she died and would take "responsibility" for her. (>.>) Furuya says yes.
Story (10): studio deen has a good record of anime with good story lines that has good comedy such as Higurashi, Ruroni Kenshin, Detective loki, and Vampire Knight but the thing that all these anime have in common is that the ending is the absolute weakest part of these anime and unfortunately it looks like Sankarea is going down that path as well since 5 episodes in it haven't developed any form of purpose yet. So yes so far i give story a 10 but don't expect that to stay the same till the end.
STORY(8 AFTER FINISHING):THE STORY OF A GIRL WANTING TO LIVE A NORMAL LIFE STARTED TO FADE AS DIFFERENT ASPECTS OF THE SHOW CAME INTO PLACE AND IN MOST CASES THOSE INDIVIDUAL PARTS SUCH AS GIVING ENTIRE EPISODES TO A SIDE CHARACTERS WAS POINTLESS AND TOOK UP SPACE SINCE SANKAREA ONLY HAD 12 EPISODES TO WORK WITH. ALSO IN THE ENTIRETY OF THE SHOW THE GIRL WHO WANTS TO DO NORMAL THINGS ONLY DOES SOMETHING NORMAL ONCE... SHOPPING AT A MALL BEFORE CRAZINESS AGAIN HAPPENS.
Art (10): When i first watched this anime i instantly thought SHAFT because the art resembled Bakemonogatari so much so that i started to get a nose bleed at the simple sight of the scenery. When i realised that it was Studio Deen work i was bamboozled as i never seen such high quality work done for any anime that ever came out of studio deen before and thats saying something.
ART (STILL A 10): STUDIO DEEN TRULY OUTDID THEMSELVES WITH THIS ANIME TAKING SOME THINGS THAT MAKE SHAFT AND GAINAX SO POPULAR AND MAKING IT THEIR OWN IS SOMETHING THAT ALOT OF COMPANIES WOULDN'T WANT TO RISK ON SUCH A WELL BUDGETED SHOW LIKE THIS. REALLY ITS LIKE WATCHING SEITOKAI ICHIZON THEN HIGURASHI THEN SANKAREA AND SEEING HOW BEAUTIFUL SANKAREA IS COMPARED TO TWO ANIMES THAT WERE CONSIDERED DECENT ANIMATION AT ITS TIME
Sound (8): good music but easy to forget not much moving music except for some zomb music here and there
SOUND(8 STILL BUT NO THING TO ADD)
Characters (7 ): Dont let this seven fool you the characters for this show is great but the only reason i gave the characters a seven is because they're sterotypical (i word to overly used in anime) but thats okay in some cases. These characters are never going to change or grow or expand their gonna be as naive as they were from the beginning of the series but thats what this anime needs it to be. If Sanka never changed then she would've by now taken action against her father along time ago. Sanka's father would've changed to and would learn why her daughter doesn't understand his love for her. These characters are supposed to be so rigid in which their beliefs are already set and can't be modified so in this a 7 is neccessary.
CHARACTER (6 AFTER REALIZING HOW STUPID MY ABOVE COMMENT WAS OF CHARACTERS I HAD TO DEDUCT THE SCORE A BIT CUZ THE CHARACTERS BEING UNIQUE DOES MATTER AND AFTER 12 EPISODES OF STAGNANT CHARACTERS MAKE ME WANT TO KILL MYSELF
enjoyment (9): Its not often that i write reviews most of my reviews are youtube video reviews and are scripted edited and then recorded so i have alot of time to watch it and revise it so the mere fact of me taking my time and writing an essay trying to get people to watch this anime is prove enough that this show is awesome. Give the first two episodes a try if you like shaft youll like this anime if you like romance youll like this anime if you like bakemonogatari youll like this anime if you like a show with a driving plot yet good unconventional humor youll like this anime.
ENJOYMENT (7 ITS SO HARD TO SAY THIS BECAUSE OF EVERYTHING THAT COULD'VE GONE RIGHT ON THIS ANIME. AND WORST OF ALL THE ENDINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG WHY ITS LIKE THE SHOW ENDED WITH OUT GIVING WARNING ITS ABOUT TO EN...
SOME THING LIKE THAT YEAH EXCEPT YOU GO ON MYANIMELIST.NET AND REALIZE THAT PROBABLY IS THE REASON WHY THE RATING FOR SANKAREA WENT FROM BEING #443 TO THE HIGH #800
OVERALL SANKAREA MADE THE RIGHT MOVES AT FIRST THEN JUST TOTALLY BUSTED AND EXPLODED WHEN CRUNCH TIME CAME ROLLING ABOUT. A PROBLEM TO OFTEN SEEN IN ANIME THE END RESULT WAS TO ANTI-CLIMATIC AND JUST LEAD TO A "MEH" TYPE FEELING AT THE END. SANKAREA IS A START THOUGH A NEW WAY STUDIO DEEN CAN POSSIBLY TRY TO PRODUCE ANIME SINCE THE CONCEPT WASN'T TO BAD AND I WOULDN'T MIND SEEING MORE ANIME LIKE SANKAREA THIS ANIME RIGHT NOW IS NOTHING MORE THAN A BUST AND WASTE OF INVESTMENT ON FUNIMATION POINT OF VIEW (WHICH JUST LICENCED SANKAREA AS AN ANIME THEY ARE PLANNING TO DUB IN THE FUTURE)
:D have a nice day

Well this is my first official review and the fact of me doing this well known yet well forgotten anime is probably gonna leave people to hate me. And to those that hate me.(SAD FOR YOU) let me continue. To start out i will admit that on my psp i do have the original theme song on my playlist just for listening just because of its catchy 1990s electro piano use as this anime did a very good job in basically portraying the entire series in the opening theme song, fighting, fighting, and more fighting.
The story is about a high school delinquent named Yusuke Urumeshi
...
who saves a kid from getting hit by a car and dies in the process Yusuke saves a kid and turns into a ghost and due to his untimely death he is given a second chance to come back to life. Now you must be thinking; Black Otaku, you handsome devil, how is this show related to fighting in anyway well you see even though Yusuke does come back to life, the spirit world or more precise King enma Jr. or Koenma gives Yusuke the rank/burden of being a soul detective. Soul detective is a pretty word for the spirit world's assassin as all Yusuke ever do is fight immensely strong spirit beings whenever Koenma asks him to.
The characters is the major high point of this series as the main 4 characters seems to be stereotypical but are actually unique and more life like than most animes today *SCHOOL DAYS ERRHMM*. Yusuke is a punk, an asshole, he does whatever he wants when he wants because no one dares to say anything back to him. Yusuke doesn't give a damn about anyone but he eventually does change as he starts to build relationships with other people. Kuwabura is the weakest of the main characters, the ugliest and is also the most stupid sounding thanks to Christopher Sabat's voice acting which is known for basically 30% of Dragon Ball Z's cast (and 30% is a lot of people in Dragon ball z most notably Vegeta, Yamcha, and Piccolo.). Even with all these flaws Kuwabura is still the most dependable character when he puts aside his thuggish personality. The next two basically come in a pair since they're always together (which i find weird) is Hiei and Kurama. Hiei is displayed as the cool-look-at-me character that is also a swordsman cuz we all love short people with big sticks. Hiei is a fire demon and has some pretty kick-ass moves and is really second strongest to Yusuke. Kurama is living proof that there were demon foxes way before Naruto. He's the smartest of the group by fighting with tactics and observations against his opponent which tends to leave him the most beat up as he rarely gives his all at first against his foe but is the most brutal character towards the climax of each fight.
The show itself do have some high points and some low points and the low points being the generic shounen low points that shounen has been falling victim to every time since the beginning of time and that would be... the Villains. Villains are so hard to give depth to without making them look cooler than the main character I mean just look at villains in “Naruto” minus Orochimaru every villain basically pawned Naruto in the cool category all the way from Zabuza and Itachi to Nagato and Tobi. Back to Yu Yu Hakusho the two main arcs are the “Dark Tournament” arc and the “Ex-Spirit Hunter” arc in which the main villain where basically interchangeable and in the end portrayed as good guys who just went down the wrong path.
Animation wise some fight scenes reminded me why I love being a 90's baby, other times reminded me of why I hated being a 90's baby and why I like how anime studios can now actually afford to make more decent fight scenes unlike the times in shows not named *cough inuyasha * where they just looped the same action sequence over and over again. * cough wind scar *
One thing that I can applaud this series on is properly ending this anime the way it deserved. After 4 seasons and a movie Yu Yu Hakusho can rest in peace without any plot holes not filled.
Do I recommend this Of-course I do just watch it when you want a break from watching those brain hurt shows like To love ru, shuffle, or Rosario+vampire in a state where you awesome levels have been depleted and need to be refilled with an awesome anime.
I Give this show an 8 out of 10
Shows like it you might want to try HUNTER X HUNTER was made by the same mangaka as Yu Yu Hakusho and there is a remade 2012 version that’s been made.
Also might want to try INUYASHA as it has all the same elements that Yu Yu Hakusho has but is just drawn out longer with a tad bit better animation and more romance.
