Jitsu wa Watashi wa is indeed a surprising unexpected gem for the summer season, and has a certain thing that makes you to keep watching it even with its mediocrity. I won't say it is totally mediocre, but most of its elements are rather seen in other anime which makes it not suitable for other viewers. Despite those, it is still a fun romance to watch because of good and proper pacing and execution.
The story is set to be in an ideal school harem setting, it is about a generic brown-haired guy named Kuromine Asahi who can't keep secrets. Together with the introduction of each
...
girl the anime progresses fast. Just like any other harem, there is this "main girl" who will likely end up with the main guy but as you watch this you may also root for the others, as they are likable and you won't have the reason to hate them. About the plot, it's common and generic but a few twists like different attributes to the abilities each character have and being an entertaining romcom make it somewhat special. There is also this clashing of romance and comedy that some viewers may not like, but only a little.
Nothing to complain about the art, it's really plain and ordinary and doesn't leave any good or bad impression. Scenes aren't that detailed but the character designs are pretty and clever. What makes the art good I think are the colors used for details and character designs. It makes it more lively and vivid, which is what a comedy anime need. It contributes to the atmosphere greatly. Lastly, who can forget their facial expressions? They are very funny, fresh to the eyes, and can make you laugh.
Each voice actor did a great job portraying their respective characters. The soundtracks are really forgettable, though they are also responsible for setting the mood of each scene. The opening is somewhat catchy and makes you jumpy, it really suits the anime's playful and cheerful atmosphere. The ending is a gorgeous song, with it's calmer melody it portrays the drama and romantic side of the anime. My only complain about the sound is the insert music in every later half of each episode. Although it is not a bad song, it gets quite out of hand and becomes annoyingly unnecessary.
Now for the characters, they each have their own traits making them easy to distinguish from each other. Being a harem, one would expect that each character have their screen time one by one each episode. But this is not the case in Jitsu wa Watashi wa. Not only each character have their backstories, they are mostly part of each episode and no one gets left out. The main characters' personalities like being dense and bucket with holes spark a unique kind of chemistry which is good for an effective romance. Being a Romcom developments are slow, but you can see in each episode how well the creators execute scenes and dialogues for their developments.
I'm not sure if this can give any laughs, but man, this is pretty entertaining for me. Some jokes are recycled, but most of the time you may get something you won't expect. Jitsu wa Watashi wa is a friendly supernatural Romcom that can stand on its own merits.
The summer season was fun indeed, but Jitsu wa Watashi wa was just left out in the corner and was overlapped by more mainstream anime. It is quite underrated and it deserves more than what it gets. Overall, it has a few flaws but it's still covered by its own shines. It is certainly not bad, but it has its limits for being good as well.

Watching Gunslinger Stratos is like waiting for a bucket with holes to be filled with water. No matter how long you wait, it is impossible to fill it. And, as we wait for it to be filled, you question yourself, why am I still doing this? That's Gunslinger Stratos in a nutshell. Why do I still go on watching this?
Most of us have high or above average expectations hearing this Square Enix game to be adapted. Judging from the previous cover picture and the trailer, this looks badass and promising. What I can say is that this anime is just good at making your
...
expectations high, and inside, it is just an ugly up gift box, waiting to be opened and surprise you how messed up it really is!
The concept is not bad. The story is not bad either. But the execution and manner of use is. It has a lot of potential which has gone to waste because of poor storytelling and messy plot elements, which I think, can be a bit useful if done better and with effort. The concept of time travel and its logic can't convince me that a decent staff made this, because it is just absolutely nonsense. Everything is jumbled, explanations are just being thrown to us one after the other, which makes the story really confusing messed up.
The art is below average tier or even pitiful at times, only good in a few scenes, but most of the time it lacks effort and really poor designs. The character designs are bad and ugly, backgrounds are poor, and their facial expressions are disgusting. Only thing decent about the art is the outfits and a few action scenes to show. The use of colors is lazy work, it makes the characters look bland and lifeless. Animation is decent and a little bad, but the action scenes are worthy of being called good.
For the sound, the soundtracks are mediocre and forgettable, I don't even feel or hear any music that can touch my heart. The opening is catchy and nice, it looks great, but the song just falls flat, so it is average. The best part of the anime is the ending song, "Mirai" by GARNiDELiA, is a great piece, but it does not fit and does not have any relation to the anime. Voice actors are bad and awful and the sound effects are average.
Simply, the characters are garbage. We've got the most lifeless main character of Spring 2015 and the cheesy pink heroine, which both have useless motivations and are one of the most boring characters in history. With the alternate world characters they just fight each other for their satisfaction and rivalry, which is nonsense. Characters are getting killed before you know them, characters are getting killed for no reason, and most of all, characters are just very boring forgettable I didn't even remember their names since the first and second episode.
My enjoyment has only satisfy me during the action scenes, which are really fast that I couldn't even say that the animation during those scenes are pretty lazy. There's nothing you can get around enjoyment because this can make you sleep, it is really boring they just talk here and there and you can't even understand what is going on. What heals me every episode is the ending song that makes me forget how awful the anime was.
Overall this series is straightly bad, it is not worth watching, and is a jumbled mess. The only thing you can get maybe in this is cancer or good action scenes. It is a waste though, for an awesome game to be compared to this shit, and I have high expectations in this adaptation. Do not watch this. Maybe just try listening to the ED. :3
Story - 5 (Interesting premise backfired, potential gone to waste.)
Art - 5 (Mediocre, nothing really worth mentioning and decent animation.)
Sound - 6 (Bad and below average. Nice OP and lovely ED)
Character - 2 (Paper characters that have no true motivations with zero development)
Enjoyment - 4 (Boring, only a few moments to be mentioned)
Overall - 4 (Very low adaptation and production values. Not worth watching)

Take note that I haven't read the visual novels yet, but I do enjoy the adaptations of Kajitsu and Rakuen. After the so called trainwreck adaptation of Kajitsu, which questions has been cleared after the sequel Grisaia no Meikyuu, this time Rakuen is much easier to follow. With more on buildup the anime has a big
The story is probably above average, this season we get more on the character's stories and flashbacks, more on tension and plot buildup but is paid by thrilling scenes and the way of storytelling is very good, I must say that I'm impressed that 8bit puts effort in adapting
...
this. I think the pacing is good and smooth, and it's much easier to follow the anime. This time the story is more focused on the main guy Yuuji, his backstory, the past, and the present.
Just like the prequels, the art in my opinion is really well done, just like of the VN. Character designs are very detailed, it's catchy to the eyes and the backdrops are pleasing that the character designs can easily blend in. Each scene can be considered "of good quality". At times, it can be crappy or mediocre. Animation-wise, I don't see any flaws about it. Use of colors are also pretty good, I must say it's a unique and fresh style of art which can't be seen from other animes out there.
We have a decent set of soundtracks right here, very different from Kajitsu and definitely better, and some background music are from the VN as well, which are very good. Some songs are too short for some scenes and then another song comes in which is a bit out of place can make us feel the adaptation quite rushed. Again, Kurosaki Maon performs the opening. "Setsuna no Kajitsu" is a really great song and very catchy, together with the animations it can easily become addictive. It fits well with the fast pace and mood of the anime. The endings are also alright and catchy, but I prefer the first ED which is fast and has messages in the animation, I'd say the endings gets its job done. For the voice actors, they were perfect, voices suit their respective characters, and have distinct voices that we can tell who they are just through listening.
Now for the characters. I'm not going to introduce them anymore, but its super obvious that they really get lots of development from this season, even new introduced characters can have a decent arc, just like Asako's, which has less screentime but she got a decent development through good storytelling and deep exploration with her character. For Yuuji, this time he's not that stiff as the first season so its obvious that his slow but sweet development made huge impacts to his character. This time the story mostly revolves around him with his harem. From this point, the main girls of Grisaia are honestly developed from the first season, their interactions and personalities are very entertaining that you'll find them all likeable. They have substance, not just carbon copies of characters from other series.
Enjoyment. How much does my 24 minutes last? Oh god it feels like time flies fast when watching this. It's prequel is very different from this one, as this is more enjoyable, with a good sense of direction and likeable characters I really find myself enjoying this one before I knew it. Everytime I finish an episode I want more. This wasn't made to become a blockbuster, its simply just being itself. Too bad it is overlooked by more anime this season and this is so underrated. Only problem was that the few last episodes felt a bit little rushed, but that's just about it.
Story - 9 (Rakuen has more interesting plot direction, story has a big potential and they made good use of it)
Art - 8 (Pretty good. Pleasing to the eyes and nothing to say bad about it.)
Sound - 9 (Soundtracks are really touching, but sometimes too short or out of place. Badass opening and ending.)
Character - 10 (Very good developments of EVERY character including the supporting characters, they have allotted screentime for themselves)
Enjoyment - 10 (No joke. This one is so good you'll want more every episode)
Overall - 9 (Adaptation done well. Nearly perfection.)

Just finished re-watching this series and just thought, "Man, what's wrong with the anime? That was a pretty good watch yet the ratings looks like the total opposite." Yes it was rushed, but this is an adaptation, and the source material is entirely a different story.
The story is generic yet unique, it is something refreshing and has a strong potential to become an amazing sci-fi. Themes such as romance, childhood tragedies, mystery, suspense, fanservice, and harem are all in one package. It's not a very good idea though, because the execution is quite flawed because of lack of focus in one aspect of its
...
themes. It doesn't know where it stands at times, because of distractions such as drama scenes then unnecessary ecchi fanservice scenes then it turns out to be a comedy then a cheesy romance that has dark tones surrounded by glitters. The strong point though is the amount of fresh mysteries and thrilling suspense, which can guarantee your satisfaction with the story.
Now I can't deny the fact that the art is pretty good, we've got a lot of of sights here. Background sceneries are very pleasing to the eyes, character designs are simple yet what makes them pretty is the use of colors, high quality animation is always present most of the time. Their eyes are very detailed, I haven't seen any anime that has these unique beautiful eyes. See for the cover. It has a dark atmosphere with slight dark tones in it. It can set the mood of the show with different scenes, whether it's bright or dark, the art is good quality work. Animation is always solid and crisp, but it's just nearly as perfect.
For the sound, I really loved both the openings, they really fit for the anime's themes perfectly, but I'll just say that the second opening was unnecessary. It could have stayed at the original opening, but the second one is not bad either. The ending is catchy and fits the sad and soft side of the show, plus it's nice to hear the whole girl cast singing. Soundtracks are just so good, it plays a role to the scene which can either give you tension, feels, easiness or goosebumps. The voice acting were decent and I think it's still above average.
Characters are very interesting and played their respective roles all throughout the series well. I can't deny the fact that Ryouta is another generic harem lead character. But his role doesn't just stop there. He has unique traits that make him a well generic character, with good character developments and good backstory execution, his character was written very well. Obviously for a harem, we have a main girl. Kuroha is quite dense and an airhead, but her personality blends well with her chemistry with Ryouta. The other girls are decently written as well, they each have individual screentime to showcase themselves. The only problem is probably the ones that show up in the later half though, as they didn't get developments or screentime which means they can't get any sympathy or you won't care when they get hurt or die. I won't mention those characters so see for yourself. They're just like plot devices but when you see it outside the box they all have roles to achieve success in the show.
I think I really enjoyed the anime so much that I put it on my favorites despite it's flaws and flops. But don't get the wrong idea here, my favorites are a different story, and it's mostly based on enjoyment and not biased. This is entirely different from Elfen Lied. The amount of suspense in a single scene can make you go crazy during cliffhangers, and crave for more. Lastly I would say that the anime is VERY different from the manga on how it is adapted, but let's think that this is anime and it shouldn't be compared with its source material by any means. Gokukoku no Brynhildr has above average production values, and overall I think it was a very unique sci-fi with drama and romance undertones. It is unpredictable, and knows how to handle mystery elements well and present it gracefully to the viewers.
Note : I ANALYZED THOROUGHLY BY RE-WATCHING THE ANIME AND CAN'T FIND MAJOR PLOT HOLES. IT IS NOT A BUTCHERED ANIME, BUT THE ADAPTATION DIDN'T GO WELL. IT IS NOT A BAD ANIME.
Story - 8 (Interesting premise and a promising plot)
Art - 9 (Solid and detailed. Can't see any flaws and just near as perfection.)
Sound - 8 (Appreciable, good, and moving. Not bad but not the best either.)
Character - 8 (Well written and developed except for a few supporting characters.)
Enjoyment - 10 (VERY enjoyable from start to finish. Can make you stay at the edge of your seats.)
Overall - 9 (Excellent watch. High production values.)

Anime de Wakaru Shinryounaika is your short comedy series that is somewhat unique to the other ONAs out there. It teaches information about mental disorders and such but it isn't the main point of the anime, I think. It provides facts which can easily be understood which is a good thing for common watchers like me, and mixes comedy along with it.
There's no story at all, but the dialogues are very entertaining and then funny jokes here and there. They were wise enough to put jokes while providing good information, usually sex jokes, but the comedy is good enough to keep me entertained.
Art and Sound
...
is nothing special, character designs were simple and cute and backgrounds were plainly decent. It has that somewhat cheerful atmosphere which blends to the light-hearted comedy mood of the show that makes you feel at ease. The intro music and the ED were catchy, voice acting is also well done.
Characters were entertaining and written well. Their personalities are very weird but it makes the whole show shine bright. Interactions between Ryou and Asuna are very funny, however they lack the depth and develepments but it isn't needed because they're already enough. More characters are introduced throughout the progress of the show and that means more characters, more fun. Also, Asuna is one of the most adorable waifu material out there.
As a source of entertainment this short series does not fail, but the jokes are a hit or miss, it's either you will get the pun or not if you have at least basic knowledge in medical terms, specifically mental illness. But it's worth watching anyway.

"This was back in the days when the battle against England was still ongoing. There was a witch living on the village who hated wars. That witch would not curse people nor do evil deeds...but instead use her powers to put a stop to the fighting. Her name was Maria. She held the same name as the Blessed Virgin... and was herself a virgin, too."
An outstanding anime which can be compared to the old but never getting old classics, Junketsu no Maria is an anime that has great expectations yet it makes use of it's own medium for good. The combination of historical, ecchi, comedy,
...
and fantasy is often used during the 90s, but what will we get these days? Definitely something better!
Virginity is a sacred or a word that must be used with caution, especially for the church. Junketsu no Maria or Maria the Virgin Witch is very honest to itself, it knows where it stands and does a great job in using it's limited resources for the best package it can offer. Set in Medieval times, the story is about Maria, a witch living in the forest who hates wars(wars were held at that era for gold), and her adventures in stopping and interfering in wars using her own magic. The story can be quite misleading though, for her magic will vanish if her virginity is lost. Why? Because this is her punishment for stopping wars and to maintain balance in the world without the use of magic and something like the "natural law" of the world.
The art is standard, nothing bad about it and it's quality just above average and at time it can be so-so. But I'll say it's quite good because s really sets the visuals to become old but still has the good quality and sets the mood like what we see on old times. Character designs were simple yet kinda weird, backgrounds were pretty because of the little details and the right use of magical effects are good. I won't say the art is bad, but it gets the job done right.
Character section is the most important part in this anime, for these are the elements that carry and support this show. We have the main character Maria, and she has the right characteristics to become a great lead. She's cute, entertaining, and I think she's a rare kind of girl. We can't see a main character like that these days. Supporting characters such as Artemis, Priapus, Ezekiel, Viv, Galfa, Lord Michael, Le Comte, Joseph, and other side characters are also important for plot progression as they are related to Maria. Their actions are justified by their motivations and this has no melodrama for dramatic scenes, characters have heart and real personalities. I don't think any of them are annoying, but they still have flaws, which, can be remedied by sufficient amounts of character developments(which, the anime has already applied). Speaking of, character development in this anime is slow and unnoticable, but in the end we will realized how much they changed.
The opening "Philosophy of Dear World" by ZAQ is just an average upbeat song, and it emphasizes the Magical and Fantasy genres of the anime. The ending song "Ailes" by TRUE is just calm and sweet, it portrays the medieval theme of the show. I must give a high recognition for the voice actress of Maria, her voice fits well with Maria's personality and her expressions are really topnotch. Sound effects are decent and they have various sets of soundtracks being played. One thing I also noticed is that even the slightest little sound is detailed, which can give more life to the scene and give impact to the viewers.
These kinds of shows are not appealing at first, but it's really enjoyable and have it's own merits to stand on its own and has a lot of potential to become a more promising tragedy-fantasy series. It's unsatisfying though, because the series is really short but it can have more episodes to flesh out the characters more with its current state. I won't say it's rushed, more of it has just the right pacing. Totally underrated in my opinion, this series is a total delicious treat for plot-driven stories lovers.
A LITTLE WARNING : The plot may lead people to become atheists and may change their views on the church because of blasphemous scenes and dialogues. Sex jokes and explicit scenes are also present(although very little), but become an open-minded person and see the moral lesson inside its core.

The harem genre became a popular demand these days, which we can say they are the most "overused" genre every season, and every season we get 2 to 4 harem anime, and in most cases, are shit and trash that must be avoided. Juuou Mujin no Fafnir is NOT one of that. But why do I give such a high rating for a harem? Because Fafnir(that's will I call it from now on) is a pretty good one, yes, maybe its elements are generic and overused but some of its aspects are done right and pleasing to me.
The story is somewhat similar to other
...
harem animes out there with magic school setting and a main guy surrounded by many girls, guy MC gets stronger with his "exceptional" powers and BOOM! Lots of cliche events like pantyshots, peeping and changing clothes, and hotsprings. What makes this good is the concept of "D's" and dragons, but it's kinda waste because the dragons don't even look like actual dragons at all, I expect something more like dragons that fly, not just dinosaur wannabe breathing fire dragon. For a harem the plot of this anime is just average, nothing special.
The art is pleasing to the eyes though, the background designs were cool like those in video games and characters look like CGs from video games and eroge. The dragon designs was disappointing and bad because of 3D effects making it look so out of place in the scene. For the animation, I can say that it was average, the way they used magic was good but some movements look awkward and unnatural at times.
Music, soundtracks, and overall themes were pretty good and nice to hear, you can feel the mood of the scenes through the music. The opening "Flying Fafnir" is one of the best this season I think for being catchy, and the ED "Ray of Bullet" was just cute for its moe vocals by the two main seiyuus, Iris and Mitsuki. The sound effects is just there, contributing to the mood of the atmosphere but still gets the job done.
Characters may be found in other animes out there, but some of their traits are sort of unique and their personalities give the perfect chemistry for the whole cast and present a nice character interaction. Although rare for harems, this anime has little character developments to the main and some of the supporting characters. Mononobe is just as cool as usual, Iris overcame her jealousy, Mitsuki changed, Tear and Lisa gained trust to their fellow classmates. Some side characters were unnecessary though, for example :
-the chick with the magical book (Fyril)
-redhead loli (Ren)
-brown-haired girl (Ariela)
They just exist as if they're just there to add a collection to the harem, but they have really minor roles and don't even get 5 minutes screentime.
The enjoyment factor is surprising, because I found myself enjoying this kind of harem although I don't care about the genre itself. I think this is one of the good harems this season along with Saekano. Some my become bored and turn-off after knowing this is harem, but this is decent and worth watching.
Overall, I give this anime a sweet 7 because of its unexpected pleasure, one thing I can say for sure is that Fafnir is a great harem, it's solid from start up to the end, and is one of the better harems out there.

I do not know why people dislike this anime, or the amount of hate I get from people watching this, maybe because this is pretty slow-paced, so most watchers didn't continue to bother watching this series. First of all I'd like to say that watching this anime episode by episode will only bore us, and that's why I think most people dropped this show. Maybe they don't find it appealing enough, or because of the slow start, forgettable characters, and the mediocre animation. So I advise everybody who plans to watch this anime : WATCH THIS STRAIGHT.
The story is good, the synopsis explains that
...
this anime has potential, and the plot itself is indeed interesting. This anime has VERY slow pacing, you will find quite boring for the first few episodes(boring until episode 12 I guess?), but you will get hooked by it. One thing that I didn't like in the story was the concept of mechas being used, it didn't fit really well with the story. This anime also brings deep messages to its viewers, but it doesn't convey well straight to the point and can't connect its meanings to the viewers completely. With some deep messages it brings, this anime has psychological undertones and contains some explicit scenes which may not please others.
The characters were really good, we can see leaps of character developments as we go on with the show. At first they seem pretty forgettable, but they kinda grows within you. That feeling when your first impression on a character changes, you will like them and eventually root for them. Some supporting characters may be dull, one-dimensional, and their actions do not make sense, but you can see their developments as the show goes on. Also, one thing that I also find it interesting is that this anime isn't afraid of losing its characters, characters that didn't stand out at first evolved and developed pretty well(especially Mhamu), character interactions, some characters were just so crazy and insane(the mad scientist LOL) but their presence is really essential for the plot.
The art, for a 2014 anime, was quite cheap and a little bad. Maybe the studio were on a tight budget for producing a 24-episode anime or something, but it still fits the atmosphere of the show. The use of dark colors really sets the dark mood of the show. Character designs were fine, the mecha is also good I think, having consistent animations and distinctive designs. CGIs were satisfying enough to entertain our eyes throughout the show.
For the sound, which includes its music and sound effects, were pretty good. I really find the openings catchy, the first one "Re:Remember" by May'n fits with the sad tone of the show and reminds us of a beautiful sorrow, the second opening was "Replica" by Sakamoto Maaya, was really catchy, giving us hints of how the series will end but the animation of the anime spoils its viewers.
"Ego-izm" by lalalarks is not that appealing for me...at first. But eventually the song, piano keys, and its music gets stucked in your head. The second ending song "SABLE" by nano was my favorite, it really conveys the action genre of the series. There is only a small set of soundtrack, but it still gets the job done. Character voice acting were just average, they didn't stand out.
As for my personal enjoyment, the first few episodes are not that good, to the point of being boring or even bad, but I assure you watching the episodes continuously can at least change on your point of view to this anime. For an action anime this has less action, but more on character interactions for summing up the plot, but it's still good. For those who dropped this, give this a chance.
Overall, I give this anime a 9. It think it deserves some praise, the show was pretty successful itself in terms of adaptation, it's really sad, as the anime itself didn't do anything bad to be hated, that people dropped this, this isn't even worse than other mecha animes out there, so give this a shot.

Girlfriend(Kari) is your typical slice of life show that aired in Fall 2014 which puts you into a soft and a fluffy atmosphere. It obviously has high budget, judging from its content, however, it is left unnoticed by most viewers because of its genre, slice of life and school. This anime mainly focuses about daily lives of high school girls added with some blend of moe and light fanservice.
Some consider this anime as trash, moeshit, or even pure garbage. But the anime itself isn't that bad, it has a very satisfying ending.
Story - 4 - Decent
GF has no particular story at all, it is
...
like episodic and repetitive, featuring cute girls in their daily high school lives every episode and a bit of friendship thingy. This anime only takes things lightly,so stay away from this if you want some serious drama slice of life or something.
For every episode they have those little problems of their lives and help each other, then for the last minutes of the episode they wrap things up making a conclusion.
My only problem is that, why don't they just set the story in an all-girls school instead of an open school for both men and women?
Art - 9 - Great
From Silver Link studio, they present us cute character designs and having a light fanservice. It is of high quality and top-notch, the backgrounds were nice and pleasing to the eyes, fitting the mood of the anime.
Every girl is detailed and we can distinguish them from each other from their character designs.
Sound - 9 - Great
With over 30+ characters in this anime, I must say they did a great job to portray each characters' voices. I can't just ignore the voice acting of the characters. Superb.
The Opening, Tanoshiki Tokimeki, by Neuron Creamsoft(which I believe is performed by the cast), is good and kinda grows in you. It fits well with the anime.
The Ending, Hareru Kana by Kokomi Shiina, the main lead of this series, is very calm and pleasing to the ears. It's just so cute, that cutesy ED is rare to find these days. It blends perfectly with the anime's heartwarming atmosphere.
The BGM were also nice, adding to the mood and atmosphere of the show, but didn't stand out nor bad.
Character - 8 - Very Good
As I have mentioned, there are 30+ characters in this anime, however, there are five main characters that gets most of the screen time of course. There are varieties of girls in this anime, some may be generic, some may be unique, and some are pretty entertaining.
Enjoyment - 6 - Fair
I have to admit it, but this anime is really boring at times and does not live well to your expectations. I guess comedy is one of the things that it lacks. But I think it is normal for a slice of life show to be like that. Sometimes I consider this to be a pain to watch because it is so boring.

Overall - 7 - Good
I don't know why but this anime has its touch that it makes it something quite special. For those who wants to watch this, sure, it is worth watching, but be reminded that this is quite boring and you might drop it. I think it was a good way to promote the video game, and it didn't do anything bad.
This is also a good anime if you something that is heartwarming, cute girls doing cute things, or if you want to pass time and add another entry to your list. As I have said above, I think it has a very satisfying ending and still worth watching.
