Amazing. Simply amazing.
One of the best action series I've ever seen. The concept is also very cool. Sung Jinwoo starts off as a lowly E level, and you get to see him rank up, basically by video game concept. Each enemy he defeats he gets stronger and acquires new items.
Though the premise sounds simple, it's the story around it that makes gives it the push into legendary status. The series does an amazing job with world building. You are intrigue by the gates. By the guilds. By the monsters. By- well basically everything. I want to know more, and can't believe such an amazing
...
series only got 12 episode (thank goodness for season 2). The show does just enough to explain to the viewers what's going on, but also leaves enough for intrigue.
In terms of character, well there's really just the MC that stands out- and that's okay. The show is call solo leveling, right? I mean other characters exist, but they're really just there to support the MC. The interaction is subpar by standards, but again- the world building is so good that you don't mind. Speaking of MC, how is Jinwoo? I like him a lot. He's got unlimited grit and determination, but unlike your typical shounen protagonist- this dude does what has to be done, i.e. killing when necessary. I mean he has to if he wants to survive. But he's also got morals and is very kind. His goal after all, is to save his mother and support his younger sister. However, I like that the show shows him teetering between good and evil sometimes.
In terms of action, well it's definitely A+. Beautiful animations. Beautiful fight scenes. Amazing power up moments.
If I don't want to say more because I don't want to spoil it for anyone. I went into this anime pretty much blind, and I think that's the best way. Solo Leveling is definitely one of my favorite animes of all time.
10/10, no questions ask.

The main issue with this anime is that the title and premise is very decieving. There is no "loner" in this anime. The MC is alone for maybe 1 episode, if even? The rest of the time he's with his classmates. So yeah...there goes that unique idea for an isekai. Instead, what we get is a typical isekai anime where the MC is OP, his classmates are buttcheeks, the monsters are pathetic, there is an adventure guild, and a deep dungeon that is easily conquered.
Okay, so how is it for a typical isekai then, at the very least? It's mid. It's whelming. It's average.
...
It has all the things you'd check off on an isekai just to get a passable grade. The best part of the naime is the MC Haruki. He cracks me up. I think it's cause his VA does one of the best jobs I've ever witness. Comedic timing is spot on. That said- it's a shame Haruki isn't a loner, despite him keeping on repeating that he is. It's obvious Haruki is a wanna-be shounen protagonist who wants to please everyone. Still, he's very solid over all.
What's not solid are his classmates. They're written in very stereotypical fashion. The delinquents are just evil for no reason and their goal is to molest the female students against their will- I guess? The Pres is the typical high maintence type who cries a lot because she's just so compassionate and wants to save everyone. The nerds are suppose to be smart, yet I don't think they did a single impressive thing. The jocks are just there. It's a shame- if we're going to include Haruki's classmates since he's not even alone, I would've at least wish they were interesting.
Haruki is also extremely OP. It makes no sense the premise states he has "impractical" abilities while his classmates all chose OP ones. It's the exact opposite. Haruki basically has the Sharingan, can open all 8 gates, has unlimited stamina, and can create any magic any time he wants.
Anyways- if you're looking for a unique anime, just skip this one. It's the same as all the other cookie cutter isekai's, except not as enjoyable.

Worst season of this series so far.
It's just so boring and predictable. The story line is Bell and co. finds talking monsters. They decide to save them. And have this grand ideology of monsters and humans living in harmony. It's been done many times before in multiple shows so I was already bracing myself. It can be a decent plot if executed well, but yeah- this show fell flat.
The main problem is this season is all about EXPOSITIONS. It just info dumps, nothing else. This happen, so this person now does this, then this happens, now they go there, and now this happens so they
...
do this. Just information dumping every episode. There's hardly any interations. Hardly any character makes sense.
Bell is dumber than ever. Well, he was always dumb, but in an endearing way. This season he's just annoying dumb. He has two emotions. A blank stare 90% of the time, follow by anger (which accumulates to nothing). He's literally a walking statue as eveyrone dances around him. It sucks cause I think the first 2 season I felt he was amazing as the MC. This season he's fallen into the pathetic category of Subaru from Re:zero and Kirito from SOA. Speaking of Kirito, which they have the same VA- man his voice was annoying. I usually am a big fan, but this season he's either crying or literally growling from anger. It's kind of funny cause Bell is this teenager guy, but the VA makes him sound like some 40 year old wanna-be action hero.
Another pet peeve of mine in shows is the LACK OF COMMUNICATIONS. So many events can be avoided if characters just talk to one another. Oh your group disagrees with mines? Let's not talk at all and explain the situation. We'll just fight and then afterwards it'll all be a big misunderstanding because you know- we DIDN'T TALK FIRST. Hell, even the talking monsters didn't talk when they were fighting humans- because I'm sure that would make the plot too easy to solve.
All the other characters were butt cheeks, save for one. Again, no personality. No interaction. No growth. Just I do this, you do that, we fight, then I go there, then do that. Most disappointing is Ais. If you think Bell lacked basic emotions and communication skills, this girl is even worse. The new characters via talking monsters are all stupid. The new "main" is Weine, and she exist purely for "cuteness". Okay, I admit she did have one really great season moment got me pumped, but aside from that I found her annoying. The only one good character is Hermes- who actually has a an agenda and is actually smart enough to scheme.
The action- WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED? There's no way this is the same studio that animated the first 2 season. One of the laziest animations I've ever seen. Every fight is short. There's no weight to them. Swing, dodge, swing, yell, punch, aaaaaaannddd it's over. I'm giving the action a big fat 0/10.
So is there anything good that came out of this season? Yes. The fact it does move the plot forward a little bit. You get a clearer picture of the other god's purpose and goals- thanks to the billion expositions every episode.
In short- it's very bad, and I honestly think you can skip everything except the last 2 episode and still be okay to start season 4.

This season focuses more on the gods and Orario as a city instead of the dungeon. I actually think it's better than season 1.
There's 2 main storylines, which I won't ruin for you guys. The first one is okayish. The second one if really freaking good. It really forces Bell to grow as a character and hero. I'm glad it takes the majority of S2's episodes. It challenges the idea of what a hero does and should save. It also introduces new and interesting characters.
Speaking character, Bell as an MC got better I think. I thought he was just good in season 1, but now
...
he's approaching great. The reason is because we get to see him make some really tough choices. I also like that over all, he isn't this OP MC. Bell still gets his butt kicked on the regular. And he does grow from it. Hestia is Hestia- cute and annoying. But like I said- I like her. We also get to learn more about Mikoto, who is highly underrated and I also ended up liking her more. The new characters (won't spoil) are even better. There is one with a very tragic story that ties in with Bell's growth, and IMO it was nearly a *chefs kiss* storyline. We also get to see more of Lili's back story. It's good too and at one point I was hollaring for her when she had her badass moment. The rest of the case ain't bad. Shout out to Hermes, my boy.
But yeah, this season focuses more on how the world works, which I absolutely love. Ngl, I find the dungeon kinda of boring because well- it's just level, then next leve, etc. So I'm glad they explored the city more.
Negatives would be that powers/abilities are still not explained. Also, some god/goddesses have power while some don't- some may perish while some don't. Not really explained, so I hope they let us know in the future.
Over all, I absolutely love S2 and can't wait to start season 3.

I was hesitant to start because this anime has a dumb title and the premise sounds very basic. Ended up surprisingly enjoying it.
Story is about a weak adventurer name Bell, who wants to go into dungeons so he can...catch up to the Sword Princess' level. Yeah, sounds dumb, I know. But what isn't dumb, is how the show tells the story. From the getgo, you really see Bell struggle. He's really just another peon, but through grit and a little cleverness plus a WHOOOLLLEEEE lot of luck- he gets stronger and stronger, really fast.
Starting with the character, Bell as the MC is passable. He's your
...
typical naive Naruto/Deku/Kirito shounen lead, except I guess he has some ounce of libido since he does what he does to impress girls. My guy gets tricked, gets beat up, gets left behind, gets saved- but he gets up time and time again and doesn't give up. It's actually kind of impressive. There are moments when he could've legit die. I know many fans hate this stereotypical type, but for some reason it works in this show. Over all, I like Bell.
His main partner in crime is Hestia. She's okay- but I can see why many find her annoying as she is always jealous of anyone who talks to Bell. However, aside from her jealous trait, I like her. She can and will do anything to hell Bell suceed. She doesn't let her pride get in her way- such as asking other gods for help, taking up secondary jobs to help pay for food/equipment, etc. So I actually like her.
Bells two other members are Liliruca and Welf. They're alright. Lili is kind of annoying, but I guess she's got a back story to explain. The rest of the cast are kind of there to fill out the world. In a sense, there's a ton of side characters and they don't really stand out. Not even the Sword Prince Ais. They aren't bad, but they are there. There's not enough time to develop them all and I'm sure future seasons will flesh them out.
What really sells the show are the character interactions. The dialogue is decent, but seeing characters panter back and forth, joke and fight, and support each other was very enjoyable.
And of course, what many of us perverts are here for- the girls. Yeah- they're hot. Very good designs for all the women. PLENTY of fan service, and I will never complain about that.
Over all, I enjoyed seeing Bell get stronger as he has to overcome many obstacle, and along the way grow his harem.

This is one of those anime that you're watching- and all of the sudden it's already episode 6.
But of course I'm a bit bias since I've been in the medicine industry for over 10 years. Oh, and I love isekai.
The story follows a overly devoted pharmacist name Kanji who dies (from over exhaustion I guess) and is isekai into a 10 year old child name Falma. Using his knowledge and insane OP abilities, Falma is dedicating his new life to improving the world through medicine. So why do I rate it an 8?
Well- it is a bit "different" from your typical isekai in that there's
...
no demon lord to defeat. Instead, Falma fights against diseases. What I really like is the show incorporating real actual medical practices into the show- like using a glass slide of a bacteria sample to determine the disease. Of course as I've stated- since I am in the medicine industry, a lot of the medicine the show mentions is actually correct and used to fight certain disease. So the show definitely did their research. I couldn't help but be excited when they mention a drug that I've worked with before!
How about the characters? Falma as an MC is faily good. He is a dedicated "pharmacist" who is pure at heart and truly wants to help everyone. I like that trait. What I like best is Falma is assertive when he has to be- there is a particular scene where he has to step up to save a patient or else she will die, but in doing so he will reveal his powers to everyone. But he does it anyways because saving lives is more important. Two other characters are also good. His father is stern, yet understanding. I also like that he isn't an idiot- he knows Falma isn't his same son anymore. Then of course I gotta mention my boo, Elen. I'm a sucker for hot girls with glasses, so Elen definitely caught my eyes immediately. She is Falma's "teacher". She is also very capable. The rest of the characters are forgetable, but even then over all it's still a good cast.
Story line? 3/4 of the season is good. You get to see Falma grow. You get to see how he incorporates his worlds medical technology and practices into the new "old" world. I dont' want to spoil anything, but basically the story line is Falma going around helping cure and contain diseases and illnesses. Some will like, some will not like.
Negatives? I would say the main negative is Falma's power. I think they made him too OP. The boy can literally create anything and destroy anything with his two hands. At first the show said he must needs to know the molecular structure of the item to create it- but sometimes he can just create whatever he wants like a friggin microscope. There is no limit on his powers either- like he can create unlimited supply of medicine. So yeah- he's a god. Also.....working with pharmacists, I can tell ya what Falma does and knows is waaayyy beyond their medical capabilities. Falma is diagnosing and treating like he's a medical doctor of 40 years of practice. I kind of wish they just made him a doctor his previous life instead because it would make more sense.
There's no really no true antagonist. The latter half of the show rushes in a bad guy, but there's no development and you don't care for him.
Music is alright. Animation is good. VA is good.
Overrall, if you enjoy isekai but don't want to watch the same old recycle story line- I recommend watching this one. I certainly enjoyed it a lot more than I expected.

It's alright. The story is about Rick, who is this guy in his late 30's who wants to be an adventurer, but turns out was OP all along and just didn't know it until he unlocked his abilities with Oricholum group. Then his goal aligns with theirs which is to defeater the Kaiser boss guy.
The good is that there are some hilarious parts. The humor isn't with Rick though- it's with Angelica, who IMO is the best character in the show. Watching Angelica flip every time she sees how OP Rick and his friends are never gets old. Angelica also gets solid character development. In
...
particular, she is blessed with talent, but learns to be humble and learns to be a better person. That said, Rick in general isn't bad. He's just boring. I think it's because his goal to be an adventurer and him constantly thinking he's weak just doesn't make sense- even if it's for comedy. But what I do like is when Rick finally realizes he's actually a super saiyan all along and finally starts destroying his opponents.
Rick's friends are okay. There's the hotty required maid character- Reanette. She's interesting. But too bad we don't learn much about her. There's the ever required loli character Alicerette. Too bad we don't learn anything about her. There's Mizette, the genius inventor. Reaallyyy too bad we don't learn anything about him, because IMO he has the most potential to be interesting. Then there's the leader Broughston. A talking wise Orc. Honestly, he's pretty good too and has a solid back story.
So what didn't work? Well- the fact that Rick and his friends are these god-like characters in terms of strength, abilities and fame, but no one seems to know who they are. This leads to them constantly being challenged by low level characters.
The story itself was kinda boring. Not all boring- like when you learn about the characters background and seeing them overcome challenges, but having a tournament arc is kinda boring no matter what. That said, as predictable as the outcome was- it was still enjoyable.
So yeah, over all- alright. If there's a season 2 I may watch it.

It's alright.
The characters are cliche. The set up is cliche. The animation is shoddy at best. But why do I say it's still alright?
The story is interesting enough and the you do get to see the MC grow from being a timid wuss to a harden battler. You see him let vengeance consume him. It's also refreshing to see Tooka actually doing what's needed to be done- ala slaying evil whether they're monsters or humans.
That said, Tooka is the only character worth watching. All the other side characters are either overly evil or overly nice. There's absoutely no in-between. Take his classmates. 99% of them
...
are pure evil and asshats and the show needs to remind you how bad they are by showing them bully others. Then there's the annoying ass class president who just cries the entire show and doesn't have any development. Actually no one does, except the MC. If it were up to me I'd cut out his entire class' run time and just focus on the MC. Because..........
The season ends on a very anti-climate note. It's a story about revenge- but this season you will not see any revenge. You only see the road to um...setting up his revenge. Yup. So that sucked. But over all- it's a somewhat enjoyable story. Nothing special if you've seen isekai's before.
The animation is funny as heck. Sometimes they full on use 3d models. Which doesn't bother me, but I know it will for some folks. For me, I care more about the story, characters, and dialogue. Not saying the latter are great, but it's passable.
I also really like how you do see how Tooka has to "take care" of business as he has no physical abilities whatsoever, no matter how much he levels up. He does have to use his head in battle. He actually uses a lot of dirty tricks, which I applaud. No Naruto/Deku white knight bullshit.
So mixed feelings over all. I think the story is interesting enough that if there is a season 2 I will watch because I want to see him get his revenge. On the goddess. And his stupid annoying classmates.

Recommend if you love generic ass shounen anime. If not, I would skip. I do like shounen, IF they excecute it well- which I do think this show does a decent job at.
The good:
-The animation and VA are exceptional. The art style is very pleasing to the eyes. Very nice color schemes. The characters all look like models.
-For a 13 episode season, they were able to pack A WHOLE LOT OF CONTENT. And it doesn't feel rush either. Very well paced. Does a great job at world building.
-The characters are solid. Nothing special, but they do their job.
The bad:
-Very very VERY VERY generic shounen.
...
It feels like a wannabe Naruto/MHA/Harry Potter series. Copies element from a lot of series.
-The music is boring. It's too MHA-like- hell even during the Will's "power up" scenes, it has almost the same instrument as You Say Run.
-There is no villain. You get introduced to like, the last 2 episode to who might be the baddies, but other than that- yeah.
-"Antagonist" or frenemies are bland as crap.
Speaking of characters, how are they? As the theme goes- generic. The "antagonist" friends all have the same quality. They scream. They hate Will for no reason cause they need to for there to be "tension". They are mean. Then they become friends with Will. Then they still bully him.
Speaking of Will, how is he as the MC? IMO, he's the worst part of the show. I just can't stand his type of character. He's some super sissy version of Deku. His sole goal is to simp for his childhood friend who has ascended the tower. I kid you not- that's his entire motivation. It's pathetic. People treat him like dirt and he just takes it. NO- I'm sure he even likes it. He is unrealistically unselfish that everyone's happiness has to come before his because he just has absolutely no personality- except being a shounen protag where he powers up when he needs to. Sooooooooo boring. His frenemy- Sion, would make a better protag. I mean Sion isn't good, but at least he has "some" personality.
How's the plot? It's mainly generic. Kids attend this magical school. They complete. They hate. They love. There's a festival. They all have dreams. Yadadada- EXCEPT there are two interesting aspect- the Tower and the Dungeon. What is beyond the Tower and how did the Dungeon get there? Two things that intrigued me, but too bad the show never addresses them.
So over all- it's very generic and bland but hits all the point of a passable shounen. I give a 7/10.

This second season of Oshi no Ko focuses more on other characters besides Aqua and Ruby. More world building. Some parts are kind of slow- like you're wondering where they're going with it, but over all very enjoyable and pleasing to see side characters get development. The slowest part is definitely the first two episode because it's more about how the manga/entertainment history is and the struggles/fighting that happens behind the scene.
But once the show picks up- once again Oshi no Ko reminds us why it's such an amazing show. THE CHARACTERS. This season really lets each character shine. Arima is absolutely adorable as always,
...
and we learn a lot about her. Some of the smaller casts like Melt also gets a lot of love. But the best one of all is.............AKANE. Dang, you will love her this season. I won't spoil it, but she is so unpredictable and cunning. I love it.
The main plot with finding the killer also thickens. No spoiler of course. As for one of our MC- Aqua. Hm....I thought it was okay. He kinda gets development- but more like you learn about how he thinks and his values. I get he's supposed to be emotionless, but at times it was a bit too much. As for Ruby- well I hate to say it but she was on the backburner till the last couple episodes. Danggit. Well that's alright- that's what season 3 is for!
As for everything else- the music, the dialogues, and the animation? All top notch.
Highly recommend. Can't wait for season 3!
