Hopeful spark within said "expect 'The Good Doctor' but in a fantasy setting!" and boy am I glad that I extinguished that thing. This isn't fantasy, comedy or drama, it just has those 'flavors'. Its not a ice cream, its 'frozen desert'. Its an anime equivalent of a management simulator game, except it has zero gameplay, no setup or even a click required.

Story is not unique, it is predictable but the idea had potential. If I was gonna see a story about a salaryman I'd rather have it be focus on something applicable like a merchant (honestly you could write him off as an alchemist ... and with a few adjustments nothing changes, aside from it becoming less cringe with no 'heal' incantating) it could have been interesting to see how he could outdo corrupt healers with power of capitalism. Could have made him into a tactician, have him create his own guild and openly distribute survival tactics and piss off the corrupt healers by reducing the adventure casualties. Or you could have just done this... but better

Style is pretty spartan but it doesn't give or take away anything

Characters are less characters but more of a plot devices, they don't seem to have anything to react to besides the protagonist.

Its a solid too shallow / 100, one of the animes of all time, you could enjoy it as a time waster or background noise.
