I have very mixed feelings about this anime. On one hand, I was really into it. It started out great and I was "This is actually pretty good. Why do people not like this?" Then on the other hand it fell hard after episode 8 in my opinion and then I was "Ah, I now know the reason why." What started out with an excellent premise fell flat on its face. Because you go into it intrigued in how the story was going to go. Unfortunately for this anime, I had to really force myself to finish the last several episodes. Which isn't a good
...
sign. Since it means that I lost motivation and to not drop this anime, I had to force myself to finish.
Art 8/10:
Let's start with the art. I thought the animation was pretty good for what it was. Visually, this anime is appealing and it is done super well.
Story 5/10:
The story is where it fell short with me. Because I more or less wanted to watch something different. I got into this anime because of the Psychological aspect that the show supposed to be. And in the beginning it was. Because it started out where the characters had to survive from other magical girls that wanted to kill them. That was the most interesting part of the whole series, because it points out that being a magical girl isn't all that it is cracked up to be. And I loved that Tsuyuno and Aya were trying to play 3D Chess just to stay alive from other girls that wanted them dead. If the series just stayed on that aspect, it would have been great.
Because I wanted to see the girls fight for survival and have them kill one another in a whole "It's either you or me, and it ain't gonna be me" type of scenairo. And while yes, in a way, we do have the survival aspect plot point. It just didn't go the way that, while I was watching it, the way that I thought it was going. And it the end it went with the generic, "Those people are the real villains" and it just made me lose interest in the story.
Characters 6/10:
When it came to the characters I at first cared for them. While I stilled care for Aya at the end, not only because she's the MC, but because she has grown to be more independent. The other characters not so much. Mostly because I was hoping for some sort of betrayal from the other characters, if anything to make the anime more interesting and fresh. But mostly the other characters never really changed, with the exception of Rina, but I think that was more circumstantial than character growth.
Overall 5/10:
Basically, it was the story and how it went that did me it. I thought it was going to pick up but sadly it didn't. Which is a shame cause this anime had so much potential to be unique in of itself and set it apart of other magical girl anime. In a way this anime is different, but I think they tried too much to copy Mahou Madoka and failed doing so.

Gushing Over Magical Girls isn't your typical magical girl anime. It starts off making you think that it's your general-of-the-mill magical girl anime. For the first three minutes. Then it goes into this weird, yet oddly entertaining anime that is full of wacky plot-elements, fun loveable characters, and a MC whose whole purpose is to fulfill her obsession with magical girls.
First off, the animation is really well done. You can tell that they took time and effort to make it visually appealing. The fight scenes, while not extended like other action anime, are nice and entertaining to watch. Most of the fight scenes more often
...
than not, lead into BDSM scenarios.
The plot is focus on the MC; Utena being chosen to be a magical girl. Only instead being a Heroine of Justice, she IS the reason why magical girls fight. Being Magia Baiser, the Supreme Commander of the evil organization that fight against magical girls. The main plot-key is that Utena was a normal human that loves everything magical girl. Who turns out is into BDSM and gets off on dominating others. She also is so obsessed with magical girls that she wants the magical girls be at the top of their game. Henceforth, she becomes the Villain Protagonist of the series. The series progress more as we watch Utena slowly accepting that she's a pervert and loves being the villain to dominate the magical girls.
The characters all have unique personalities that make them unique. Not only do we get to see Utena and her teammates, Kiwi and Korisu, go about being villains, we also see how Sayo, Kaoruko, Haruka, (the Tres Magia) go about being heroes. Every one of these characters have their own growth and flaws that makes them endearing. Sayo is a masochist, Kiwi hates how popular magical girls are and wants to destroy them. Haruka is very gullible in nature, Korisu is a quiet, reserve girl and Kaoruko is crude and short-tempered. Each of these characters bring life to the series that make it memorable.
Overall, I highly recommend people watch this series. I got hooked into the series five minutes into episode 1 and loved every minute of it. Now, this show isn't for everyone. Especially since this show is highly sexual in nature. My only criticism of the whole show is that you only see female background characters. Every character in the background that you see are females. No matter where the main characters are, wither they are in the park filled with children or at the mall, or downtown. Every character in the background is female. There isn't a single male background character at all. The fact that you don't see any male background character that it makes me wonder how in the world do these people repopulate. Or is it just so happens, that all of the males just go out of the city for both work and school. A minor detail that for some reason bugs the hell out of me. Other than that, it's a great show. 10/10.

Goblin Slayer isn't for the faint of heart. There's lots of violence and disturbing themes. Topics like rape is frequent. This is a dark anime. If you don't like anime's like Devilman, Berserk or Guyver, this anime isn't for you.
Story is super in-depth and there are lots of fun characters to enjoy, and over-all the story is amazing. If you are a fan of Dungeons and Dragons this is your cup of tea. As you can tell that DnD is very heavily referenced through out.
The Art was really great. Though I did notice some scenes were a weird for me, but over they
...
did an outstanding job with it.
I can't wait for a second season.

While I have to admit, the art was really good. Better than some of the hentai's that I have seen. The sound was really good as well, and everything fit where it should be.
Now for my actually criticism. I'm not a big fan of rape, though I am a fan of mind break. And I'm not new to the rape genre, I've watched most if not all of the Bible Black series. But for me this story was just really cliche considering that most hentai's involve rape as their plot. The actual story, while is interesting and good, gets lost during the course of the
...
sex. Eventually, all I felt like this series was nothing but sex, only for a brief moment to realize that there is a plot. I can see why so many people like this and all, but this wasn't for me.

You know if you're going to make a borderline hentai anime, just make it a hentai. Stop doing things halfway. If hentai is your goal just make it. That way people will at least enjoy it a bit more.
The story will still suck either way, but at the very least people will know it's a bad hentai instead of a bad show.
I hate this anime due to the lack of effort on the part of the studio. This could have easily have two or more episode to help describe the setting. But it just dumps you right in the middle of the plot, the
...
characters are forgettable, and the molestation scenes are just bad. They're just there to try and get people to be aroused, but by the time I could get my head around what was happening the anime ended.
The best thing is that by this time next week this anime will all be forgotten.
