This review will cover the all 6 films, thus meaning that this review will be an overall review of all the films, got it? :)
The very first moment I watched this series, I knew right away that I'd be in for a great ride, and if you're into the mecha, shounen and military action genreas, then Broken (Brake) Blade is the anime for you and you won't be disappointed.
I give the overall story a 7. Why? Here comes why.
The story had a great start, however, I think that it seriously lacked some elements that would make the story better. The story is pretty chronological, so
...
the films don't jump between the past and present, besides some important flashbacks. We get some information about the main characters and their background, but I think the story would have scored higher if the viewer was fed with more information about the characters, the different nations, the different mechas. And I'm quite sure, and many will probably agree, that the anime would be much better and probably have higher ratings if one or two more films were made, as the anime ends too soon, or has an ending which is leaves a few questions unanswered.
Art gets a 10.
Great art. From the landscape, the charahcters, the cities, mechas and other various stuff makes the whole thing great. The landscape, where many of the epic battles are fought, is just great. Although it's a bit desert like, it's quite realistic with a lot of small and canyon like cracks to open plains. One thing about the character art is that all the crachters are... ehm.. normal. Yeah, Normal would be a fitting word, no anorexic looking charahters, they just fit and blend in perfectly. If we go to the mechas we see some epic machines in some epic battles. Just the way we see how these machines get battered, beaten, broken and torn is just epic.
Sound gets a 9.
In many animes the background music is more or less constantly on, thus no one really cares for it, or pays attention to it for that matter. This one is an exception. The background music in epic when it's turned on, and the epic music goes along with the epic battles. Simple as that. And the opening for the films was great. I also quite like how we hear the sounds of the different weapons, mechas and other transportation vehicles. Then comes the voice acting... Overall it was okay. Most of the characters had fitting voices and had the right intensity for the intense moments and the dramatic tune for the dramatic scenes. Except the main character which through out the whole show had the same dull voice.
Characters get a 6.
I don't think that I've ever given an anime less than 7 for their characters. Sad that this was the one who got less that 7. And the reason is the lack of character development. Althoguh the series just span over 6 films/episodes, we should have seen some considerably development from the main character Rygart, and I really think that there were some character who were more or less left out. I'd like too see some of the supportive character develop into something better. It isn't worth more than 6.
Enjoyment gets a 10.
And the reason for this is the "epicness". I genuinely enjoyed all the battles that were fought. This anime really is in the top when it comes to giving the viewer some great battle scenes. There is some minor humor, but the true enjoyment come from the many battles.
Overall I give the anime 8.
It's not the worst one neither the best. What gives it this high average is the art and enjoyment. If the makers of the anime would have put more time into the story and character development, we would have an anime which could compete with other major mecha anime.

This review will cover the whole series.
Story:
The story. Well. I give it 10/10. I like the whole plot and how the story follows a straight line, where the viewer is sometimes led back in time to get a better grasp of certain characters past and how they got involved with Koko. I really love how the story takes place in real places and to see how the story has been inspired by real war events. I just love it. The story it self is very well crafted and doesn't leave the viewer with a mindfuc*, but leaves an almost complete puzzle, but with an
...
ending that enables the viewer's imagination to take over. The story gets more and more intense by almost every episode. I never had the urge to sleep during this anime.
I should also mention that this anime is filled with shooting and action. If you like that sort of anime, then I can recommend this one.
Art/animation:
The art/animation is great. The colors and the depiction of places are "realistic", so to speak. The colors aren't too bright, but rather washed out. A bit like the animation of "Monster", which I also have written a review about. Overall it gets 9/10 .
Sound:
The sound is good, but nothing out of the ordinary. The voice actors all do a great job, the sound of firing and explosions are realistic. The music good, but really nothing that I noticed during the series. But I love both openings and both endings.
7/10
Character:
8/10
Okay. This one I struggled with during the whole series. I had a problem which I've never encountered before, concerning anime. I had a really hard time remembering the faces of the female characters because I think they some of them look very much a like. Besides that everything is great. The design of the characters fits very well to their roles. And their body structure fits to their personality, past and current position.
Enjoyment:
10/10
I enjoyed the anime quite a lot. I love how the anime follows a straight line, but goes back and forth into characters past. I really enjoy the realistic war-events (some inspired by the horrible events in the Balkan war). I loved to see Jonah grow and becoming more aware of what's going on around him. I enjoyed this anime to the very end, even beyond(letting my imagination take over after the ending, sitting outside with my churchwarden pipe and just.. enjoying it).
Overall:
9/10
Overall I can recommend this anime to anime who likes an action filled anime, with lots of shooting and explosions, but also those who likes seeing a child growing and developing it's emotions. I certainly enjoyed this anime. And if you like the animes that has what I mentioned above, this is an anime for you.

Another " is a great anime. This is probably the first " horror " anime I’ve watched, and I was definitely not disappointed.
________________________________________
Story :
The story is actually very well crafted. It’s just as a good anime is supposed to be. Mysterious in the beginning and through the anime more and more details are revealed, like a puzzle, so that in the end, the viewer isn’t left with any lose ends, that will mindfu** the viewer. I give the story of " Another " 9/10 because it’s simply a greatly crafted story. It’ doesn’t get 10/10 because I feel like that there were certain
...
things that I think could be better explained.
Characters:
Like in any anime with a good story, good and greatly crafted characters are necessary. I think that the main characters were well suited for their rolls. We get plenty of information about their past, that helps the viewer to see the whole puzzle. While the main characters were great, we met a few characters that have a lot of importance to the anime which were also superb. All the rolls and character designs were pretty much perfect. I give the characters 10/10.
Animation:
The animation is good. The colours aren’t bright, and they aren’t supposed to be in a horror show. Like in the series " Monster ", I see the animation as a bit " washed out " or dim, but yet crystal clear. This is the combination I like want in a horror anime.
And one thing I like a lot about this anime is the simple fact that the death scenes aren’t censored, and we, the viewers, see the reaction of the surrounding characters, which is actually quite cool. I give it 10/10.
Enjoyment:
I enjoyed this anime a lot. I did because I knew when something horrible would happen, and sometimes I was supprised by some sudden events that I wasn’t expecting at all. But isn’t this what a horror show is supposed to be like? I do at least think so. Enjoyment 10/10. There ain’t much else to say about that.
Sound:
The voice actors all did a great job. The voices fit well with the characters and I think all the voices were in synch.
All the background music was on the spot. When there was action and horror going on we get what we want when it comes to background music. I also liked the opening song alot. Great. 10/10. I was thinking to give this part 9/10, but there were just certain events were the sounds were just great, and I’m not talking about music, but the sound when those certain events happened which just really pulls me closer to the screen because it’s like " INB4 shitstorm ". Great
Overall:
Overall I give this anime 9.5/10. It a great horror show and I greatly recommend it. It get’s 9.5/10 because of the reasons I mentioned above. :-)

This is my first review, so please, go easy on me
This is one of the best animes I’ve watched.
The story is just perfect. From the first scene to the last, this anime makes perfectly sense. No loose ends that ends up giving you a heavy mindfuck. And the way everything in the anime is connected or becomes a part of the whole thing is just fantastic. A master piece.
The animation is good and goes well together with the storyline. It’s perfect for this story, but for some the animation can seem a bit " out washed " or dull, but the way the story is
...
animated is just perfect for a story like this.
The sound is good. The music, the background music and the voice actors ( which all did a fantastic job! ) makes the whole thing very dramatic. All the voices are synchronized very well and fit very well with their characters and nothing is out of synch.
All the characters are very fit to their roles. I will ( of course ) not reveal anything about the characters and their behaviour, but as with everything else in the anime, it just fits perfectly. It happens that the story changes protagonist, but these new protagonists always become a part of Tenma’s journey.
Enjoyment was immense. There was not a single moment of boredom or where I fell asleep because nothing happened. I just loved how everything was so dramatic. The scenses were all perfect. You can almost feel the atmosphere when the drama becomes really intense. It’s just incredible enjoyment. I enjoyed EVERY episode, EVERY scene till the end.
Overall, I can recommend this anime to those who watched and liked Death Note. But those anime viewers that want a dramatic journey.., just watch it, if you like drama. Seriously. You will not be disapointed. Everything, the sound, story, animation and so on. All these make Monster one of the best animes.
Watch it, you will not regret it..
